We had all the carpet and old wood floors removed from our first floor and replaced with beautiful Acacia engineered hardwood flooring. It looks even better than I had imagined. In 2 1/2 days they tore out all the old wood flooring and old carpet and installed the new floors. Very efficient team. We only wish we had done this sooner!! River City Flooring is the best. From initial sales call to installation everything went very smoothly. Highly recommend!

It went great. The company is very professional, they came exactly when they said, and the installers were great. They did all of the work in one day, and the price was very good. There were some minor things that we wished to be changed and they came back several times to make sure that everything was properly done and we were pleased. They did a terrific job.

They look fantastic! I'm so pleased with the final result and can finally feel like I'm at home.
Description of Work: I had a terrible experience with another company that "refinished" my hardwood floors but left them looking unfinished and worse than when they started. It was next to impossible to get on the phone/come out to fix/finish the job after they were already paid (lesson learned) and after a month of trying I decided to go with another company. River City were prompt with a quote for what needed to be done to fix the floors and I was informed the plan for each step of the process.

Right from the start they provided good service. The sales people at the store were more helpful than any of the other places we checked out. They had a nice selection of products and we got just what we were looking for. They came out to measure and provide an estimate in a quick and timely manner and were able to schedule in a reasonable time frame. The installers let me know when they were coming and were prompt. They were very professional and got the job done within the time they said they would. They did an excellent job, and we were very pleased with the end result.

We are extremely picky customers & accomplished renovators and River City Flooring did a WONDERFUL job installing our hardwood floor which included open stairs going into our basement area. We had some difficult areas of working the new flooring into already existing floors ... undercutting a long stone fireplace & fitting the wood under existing stone thresholds. The team we had led by Walt was highly professional, fast and did excellent work? took 3 days to install. A different excellent team led by Edin took another 3 days to put the finish on the stairs. Dan Rauch, the Sales Rep, was just outstanding ? in fact, he was the reason we decided on River City over other bids. He was very personable and knowledgeable on what needed to be done and went into extreme detail explaining how it was going to be done. During the installation he stopped by and checked on progress and after job was completed he stopped by to check on the finished installation and asked if there was anything we were unhappy about. I would HIGHLY recommend this company for flooring work. As an added bonus, River City provides their customers with lifetime supply of Bona floor cleaner.

River City was the most price competitive and initially seemed to have the tightest, most aggressive schedule for completion. This was critical since a) I work from home and b) we'd have to move out during most of the installation process. However, the project took much longer than expected due to scheduling conflicts and internal miscommunications between their installers and project manager. Their flooring installer was excellent and really thought through the details and ended up saving us some money.

They were knowledgeable about their product, and they had a large selection. When they installed, they didn’t order enough of the wood. They didn’t finish. It was a couple of weeks before they got the extra to come in and finish. My husband did all the pricing and the price comparison. We went with them because of the price.

Professional installation. Exactly as scheduled with no unexpected difficulties. Walt, the lead installer, made suggestions and gave recommended care tips. Will definitely request "Walt" again for our next flooring project! All River City contacts were on-time, as scheduled. The ONLY question we had was the price of River City's flooring. (They only install what they sell from their showroom.) River City's price was $2.99/sq. ft. while other competitors were pricing stranded bamboo, on sale, at $1.99/sq. ft. We did NOT compare River City exact item/color/finish to the sale item/color/finish. The sale price-point simply raised a question in our minds. For our next project, we will compare showroom pricing first.

We used Rivercity Flooring twice and had a great experience both times. Chris, (the Owner) spent an hour with us explaining all the options, as we DIY and installed the flooring ourselves. Overall, we installed around 2000 sq. ft of Acacia hardwood and we love it! When we needed help learning a new installation method, Chris came to our home on the day before Thanksgiving to demonstrate the process. You can't beat the price and service, and this a great way to support a local business vs. "big box" stores. I highly recommend.

There are three individuals involved in this process. The first individual is the "assessor". The person who comes out and inspects the area and creates the estimate. Then there is the "scheduler", the person who schedules when the contractor will start the job. And lastly, the "contractor" who completes the job and who is the most in touch with you, the "assessor", and "scheduler" about the job. Upon meeting the "assessor" on Monday, August 11, 2014, it was seemingly a positive experience. The individual was on time, friendly, courteous, and seemed knowledgeable about the work needing to be done. Our initial contact was responsive, regular, and informative. As the work was getting ready to be done, questions were being asked, and updates were requested, this open line of once good and positive communication became remiss. I would email, call, and leave voice mail messages to the individual and not receive a call back for days. The "contractor" was very nice and professional. The individual was aware of the needs and expectations of the job and was certain the finished product would be one I would accept. This individual was also punctual, courteous, and knowledgeable. After the second day on the job, the "contractor" noticed that the moisture in the floor was quite high (abnormal) and contacted corporate to let them know this. The "assessor" then called me and stated that it was in my best interest to halt the job and resume in a couple of weeks after the moisture level decreased. In the meantime, I was asked to take steps to help hurry this process (i.e. open vents, turn on the air, use the ceiling fans, etc.). The "assessor" also commented that it was solely up to me to do this (halt the job) and if and when I wanted them to resume the job, they would. I said okay and requested that they come back in a week and test again. After a week, they returned. It was Tuesday, August 19, 2014. The moisture levels had decreased significantly (to me) but still was not at a level with which "they" were comfortable. I asked if they could start back up on Thursday so they would be done by the weekend and the "assessor" told me "yes". It was my decision for them to start back as soon as possible (or so I was told again). On Wednesday, the "assessor" called and said the "scheduler" said the job was scheduled to resume next week. Despite the conversation the "assessor" and I had about resuming "when I wanted them to", I was made to wait. I was not too happy about this. Also, while this is going on, I had made some changes to the original job order and requested several times for an updated/adjusted invoice. I requested via email and phone calls. It took forever. As of today, they still have not received payment for the final job because they did not give me the adjusted invoice until this past Friday at 519PM, after I had been asking for over a week. Nevertheless, their check will be in the mail on Tuesday. Fortunately, overall I am very pleased with the finished work and the professionalism of the "contractor". The individual did a wonderful job and worked very hard despite the fact that the "scheduler" had this individual going between two TOUGH jobs and had to have them both done at the same time. I would definitely request the "contractor's" work again should I need it, but I would hesitate having to go through this same process.

We were very pleased with the hardwood. The men who did the work were very professional, moving all the furniture carefully and completing even the smallest details well. Unfortunately the men who did the tile did not do a good job. The tile that was placed in our den is not even so there are places where the wood trim does not meet the floor. Although this did not make us happy, leaving the cut ends of the wooden trim unpainted was a glaring omission. Since we could not walk on the floor until the grouting dried, we did not see this until the day after the workmen left. We contacted River City about what had happened and they promised to correct the problem. Someone did come out to look at the problem, but nothing has been done to correct it. I am very sorry that I had River City do the tile work. The workmen did a hurried job which did not please me and the company has not kept its promise to redo the work to my satisfaction.

I could not be happier and I'm pretty picky. Tom came out and measured for wood flooring for my kitchen, living room, hallway and foyer. Within two days I had the estimate in my email. I ordered flooring and it was delivered several days before the install. The day of the install Anthony and his two guys showed up promptly and within an hour had my carpet, kitchen floor and foyer removed. I was just amazed at how quickly it went and how personable they were. They were very professional and knew what they were doing. When they left the first day, they had the kitchen done and half of the living room. They did an awesome job around the fireplace and I just love my floors.

HORRIBLE WASTE OF TIME!!!!! I was very upset with the poor professionalism of salesman Tom Jones. He came to our house to measure the floor for Hardwood on a MONDAY. He said tomorrow ( TUESDAY) that he will be in the office all day and to come see him and he will take care of what we need to do to put wood floors in my home. I told Tom that I will come in, however, it will be during my late lunch hour. I requested of Tom if he would please have the samples ready that we spoke of and the estimate... even a ball park estimate would be fine. He PROMISED he would sit samples of hardwood aside, get my estimate and have everything ready for me so I wouldn't miss much work time. NONE OF THIS HAPPEN,! Adding insult to injury, he didn't even know who I was when I walked in the showrrom to speak to him (within 24 hrs). First he lost all the paperwork from when he was at my house... There was no estimate.....NO samples pulled for me. At this point I was very belittled. He offered no solace. He made no offer to help the situation at all. Didn't attempt to fix the situation... He just said nothing. He didn't even show me samples that might have worked... HE DID NOTHING!!! He made me feel VERY UNIMPORTANT and I told him so...he just fluffed it off....He said nothing. I left the store and my only reply was " I guess my money isn't good enough for you.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE....UNLESS YOU LACK INTEGRITY...

Nick Brumley refinished our Kitchen/ Dining room hardwood floor. Specifically, he removed the finish from the oak hardwood in the kitchen/ dining room area (approx 400 sq ft.), stained the bare wood to match a step color, and laid 3 coats of floor poly to finish the floor. The new stain matched perfectly to my steps and expectations. The final appearance of the finished floor was stunningly beautiful. Futhermore, he removed and replaced the wood where our cat previously urinated and permanantly blackened the wood; we do not have any evidence (smell, warping, color) that damage was ever done previously. I've used Brumley's services in 2007 and 2014 and was highly satisfied both times. We would easily hire him again.

The workman did not put plastic on the doorways to protect the adjoining rooms from the dust. Our furniture in the adjoining living room, family room and dining room was covered in debris. Our basement was covered with debris which we had to clean up. A hole was punched in our basement door, which the workman patched only after we complained to the salesman. Recognizing that there are inferior planks in the order, more care could have been taken in placing those planks in less conspicuous places (I.e. Under kitchen cabinets or in the closet).

Got 3 estimates and all were about the same $/sq ft. River City was most professional and had the most current methods. Still had to wait about 4 weeks to get to top of schedule, but it was well worth the wait. Floors turned out excellent. Work crew was knowledgeable and thorough. It was clear these guys knew what they were doing and how to do the work in the most efficient way. I plan to hire this Co. again to do the remaining floors as soon as I can get the remaining carpets, pad, staples, linoleum pulled up and the glue removed. from wood floor.

They do all floors. They do wood, tile carpet. I think they are priced well. They give good service. The guy does the carpets really knows his stuff. I don't feel like he's trying to push a product, I told him what I wanted and he led me down that path. I like it when they say here is your two choices pick on. The estimator, Tom, showed up exactly on time, measured the floor area and tested the wood. He e-mailed a detailed estimate to me that day, and I received a hard copy in the mail a day or so later. When I called to schedule the job, I was given a choice of dates either one or two weeks out. The work crew, Mark and Kevin, showed up as scheduled, and were professional and thorough. They were able to match the stain to an adjacent hallway, and repaired two large areas and three small areas so well that I can barely tell where they were. My concerns about dust were unfounded, as there was almost none. They completed the work on schedule. THE COMMENTS BELOW ARE ABOUT ANOTHER FLOORING CONTRACTOR, NOT RIVERCITY. Now, contrast this to another "estimate". The contractor did not show twice, and when he did show up he was late. He asked if I had any spare wood to make repairs. He looked at one area needing repair and asked me if I could just put a piece of furniture over the area. He over-estimated the job by over 30 square feet (about $100), and told me he used quarter-round for the trim. When I told him I wanted shoe molding, he informed me that there is no difference between quarter-round and shoe molding. I know better. Lastly, he told me the job would take two days. Two days for sanding, staining and application of three coats of polyurethane? That's a three day job, minimum, to allow time for the polyurethane to dry completely. Thank goodness for companies like Rivercity Flooring, who take pride in their professionalism and craftsmanship.

When we moved in to our current home in '04, we had replaced the downstairs carpet w/ hardwood with the exception of one downstairs bedroom. We also had the upstairs carpet replaced w/ new carpet. After 9 years, the old carpet was definitely due for a refresh (can you say "dogs"?) and we decided that instead of replacing carpet w/ carpet, we would just go ahead and re-do with hardwood throughout. Also decided to replace the carpeted stairs with REAL wooden steps like a staircase is supposed to be. Needless to say, it was a pretty substantial project. Went w/ River City after receiving a couple of bids. Pricing was comparable and in fact, a little lower (but not by much). Tom came out to measure everything and was very thorough and gave me a good education on hardwood flooring and particularly with regard to staircases. After we signed off on everything and had selected our material, they called us about a week later to schedule the work. Step 1 was to deliver the wood flooring about a week in advance to it could acclimate to the environment. Walt, who had to haul in all the boxes by himself (wouldn't let me help) was very careful to put carpet pads down where he stacked the boxes. Next week was the installation. Now, I can only give Walt and Derrick an "A" for punctuality and professionalism, because that's as high as Angie's will let me go, but if there was a higher grade, they would get it. These guys arrived on time to the minute all 3 days of the install. They worked all day with just a couple of quick breaks and were entirely thorough and professional in their work. They were immaculate in the clean up as they finished each particular area. When they left, it was like they had never been there, except for the fact that we had new floors and stairs. It's like an entirely different home now, and we are more than pleased with the result. Would definitely recommend River City Flooring and in fact, will likely call them back out next year as we have plans to redo the floor in the master bath.
