Painting The Town

They painted most of our house and I don't know where to begin. They spend a few days patching (and continually patched because of how bad our drywall was and they didn't care even if it was already painted, if they found a problem it was repaired and painted again. They painted a lot but had enough crew to not take too long. I cannot say enough good things about this company. From organization and courteous great communication with Robin from the start all the way to Skip and the crew. It is rare you get the feeling that a contractor is looking out for you, but I truly felt this way. They were very accommodating communicated great and when we changed out minds or made the job more complicated, they just told us how good it would look. They were extremely thorough and the results were unmatched by any I have seen in professional painting. It was a truly a pleasure doing such a big project and we are left with beautiful results.

From beginning to end, this is a company that cares about being professional and providing customer service on top of the knowledge and expertise that Painting the Town provides. When you hire this company you can expect Skip to come by and review the scope of work which will be followed up by professional and detailed typed estimate. When the project commences, you can expect on-time arrival of the crew, consideration of your property while on the job, thorough clean-up at the end of the work day, and results that you will be thrilled with!! That was certainly my experience. I should also note that the exterior work was done during some of our hottest days last summer. Be sure that you are not choosing your painting company on price only! Remember you get what you pay for and you want your exterior paint to last for years and years!.

Came to house, gave estimate, set date for job to begin, came exactly on time and day, did a professional job. Would recommend to anyone and will certainly use again.

They arrived right on time and got to work right away. By the end of the first day they had put the first coat of paint on the walls and by the end of the second day they were done. They were friendly, professional, and punctual. I loved the paint job, it looks wonderful. All of the trim was done just right and the walls and ceiling look great. I communicated with Robin, Skip's wife, via email from the time of the estimate to the time they came to paint and she was very helpful and very friendly.

Painting the Town is wonderful! Robin and Skip are very kind, honest, and professional. I left a voicemail requesting an estimate and was called back no more than 10 minutes later by Robin. Skip met my husband to give us an estimate the very next day and we scheduled our painting for the Monday of the next week and the painting was finished on Wednesday afternoon. Our home looks like a completely different place. You can tell that attention to detail and perfection is important to Painting the Town. They deserve better than an A, more like an A++. I highly recommend Painting the Town for your next painting job.

This is an excellent, local, family-owned business that is a delight to work with! Their work is top-notch, and you can really trust them. I felt really comfortable leaving my house during the day to go to work, while they were at my home painting. They moved furniture, draped areas for protection, and carefully prepared surfaces. The walls and trim that they painted look terrific! My home was left clean and tidy at the end of each day. I would highly recommend this company to everyone, and I will definitely use them again!

The faux finish was exactly as I described. While I was so undecided on color selection but envisioned and described this vision for Skip, he was able to take what I was saying and the colors we were using and it turned out beautiful. Thanks for your patience and advice Robin and Skip.

Skip and his crew were very professional, neat, on time, and expert at what they do. Each day they cleaned up and left the house in very good shape. They were done in 31/2 days and there are no areas that need additional attention. We are planning to have them back for a bathroom and garage.

Workers were on time everyday and completed the entire project in 2.5 days as estimated. They were extremely professional in their crafts and personable. We were able to leave our two pets with them in the house and they took care of them while doing their work, which was above and beyond what we expected them to do. Any future painting projects that we may have in the future will be given to these wonderful folks to do. The pricing was also very fair and reasonable in our opinion. Thank you!

We had a plumbing leak that lead to water damage in the first floor bathroom and kitchen. They got the work done quickly and efficiently, did all the prep work and cleaned up afterward. It looks better than it did even before the water damage.

My house is over 100 years old, and needed extensive wood repairs, scraping, pressure washing, etc., and since the house is so old it was subject to environmental rules for lead paint. Skip and the guys did it all with careful adherence to rules and regulations. The quality of the work is outstanding! I could not be more pleased. They were here on time every morning, worked steadily, neatly, and with careful attention to detail. They kept a neat work environment, and cleaned up every afternoon before they left. The guys were very pleasant and polite and a joy to be around. I have had some disappointing (to say the least) experiences with contractors, and I was not looking forward to having my house painted, however, my experience with Skip and Robin, and all the workers with Painting the Town was remarkable, and I miss seeing them each day now that the work is done. My house looks absolutely beautiful, and I have received many compliments from my friends and neighbors. I highly recommend Skip and Robin and all of the workers at Painting The Town to everyone, and I will be calling them again next year when I am ready to have inside painting done.

The experience with Painting the Town was excellent! Although Painting the Town was not the lowest bid we ended up going with them because we felt very comfortable with the fact that Skip (owner) would also be on the job and would not be sending sub-contractors. We are so thankful we went with this company!! The work they performed was excellent and they went above and beyond! The crew was friendly, neat, and punctual. The first project took two days and each day they showed up early and were ready to ring the doorbell at 8 am. The crew repaired several cracks in the drywall and also repaired a door for me (free of charge)! Skip noticed that the door to office where I was working would not shut so he and his guys took the door off, sanded it down, and then painted it! We could not have been more satisfied with the work and the whole experience! Our second project was a big project (master bedroom, kitchen, dining room, & all trim). I e-mailed Robin the first week of December to check the schedule to see if they could fit me in before my Christmas Party on the 22nd. The schedule was full but Robin(Skip's wife/owner) assured me we could work something out. I'm not sure how they did it, but the guys were able to start the project on Dec. 11th! Of course the work was excellent and just like before they were punctual, neat, and friendly. We absolutely trusted the guys and were not home the two days they performed the work. We even came home to the best surprise from the crew. We recently had our garage door repaired and the panel that was replaced was white and did not match our existing garage door color. The guys saw the garage door paint sitting in the garage and painted this for us!! They are so thoughtful and will go above and beyond to satisfy the customer! This is an excellent local and family owned business and I highly recommend them!

They were amazing. They didn't leave any mess behind and I was very impressed.

The owner of the company, Skip Risk, came to the house about the third week of June and gave me an estimated cost for the paint job. He was on time for th appointment and very friendly, professional and courteous. I immediately felt like this job would be in good hands. He walked the property, took pictures and promised me an emailed estimate within 48 hours. Forty eight hours later I indeed did have an estimate which I accepted and emailed back to him. I then called Skip and scheduled a date for the job which was about 3 weeks out. This date had to be rescheduled by a week or so due to the extreme heat the Louisville-Southern Indiana area has had recently. On Thursday, July 12, Skip's wife, Robin, who handles the scheduling, called and asked if Monday July 16, would be okay to start painting. I was thrilled and quickly agreed. Skip and his four man crew showed up promptly at 8:00am on Monday, July 16 and they wasted no time getting started. The four man crew was absolutely delightful to work with. They were very friendly, professional, courteous, and a joy to work with. You will not find any better painters anywhere!!! They were efficient and by the end of the first day everything had been prepped, power washed and had at least one coat of paint on it.Throughout the extreme heat of the day, these guys kept their sense of humor and congenality. I never once heard a cross word amongst them nor a complaint. In fact, one of them said, You know, I really love my job. I love to paint." He was serious and the pride that all of the crew had in their work was very evident. They returned at 8:00 am on July 17 and finished the job in about 3 hours. Each day they cleaned up after themselves and moved furniture back in place that they had previously moved in order to paint. I have only known these people for 2 days but I feel like they are old friends. They were polite to me and loved my dogs. They took as much care in painting my home as if it was their own. If I could give them a higher rating than an A I certainly would without hesitation. I highly recommend Painting the Town for all your painting needs. Skip and Robin are wonderful to deal with and answer all your questions promptly via email or phone call. The crew is top notch. This is the second time that I have used this company. As before, they were incredibly prompt with their responses to all of my questions. They came out when they said that they would and finished their work in a very reasonable and efficient amount of time. It was great from beginning to end.

It was a pleasant experience from beginning to end and we extend our unqualified recommendation.

Our neighbors told me that they have never seen just quick and clean services. They did an absolutely excellent job, and I would highly recommend them. Our neighbors even decided to use them because they did such a great job. They were just superb.

I've used them before. I love them. They were even better this time because when I was talking they knew more of what I was trying to say. There was a lot of repair work. They did all the repair work and we couldn’t even tell that there was a problem. I have recommended them to two of my neighbors who were talking about painting. I would definitely consider using them again but one of my neighbors had them out plus two other painters for appraisal and they were the higher ones. I might use them again depending upon their availability and my money. I definitely love their work and their professionalism. I hardly knew that they were here. There was no arguing between them. They run like a Swiss watch; they were perfect.

It took a bit of doing to get the work scheduled due to crazy weather last summer and the bridge closing, but was totally worth the wait. The prep, including pressure washing and sanding, was very thorough. The crew also discovered and replaced some rotted wood on the roof that had previously been undetected. They did everything they said they would do, and then some, going above and beyond my expectations. The house looks gorgeous and we can't wait to have them back to make the inside as nice as the outside is now!!

This is the second time I have used Painting the Town and they will certainly be my "go-to guys" for any future painting, interior or exterior. We purchased a home and the interior needed painting. At first I was going to have them paint a portion of the house and do a couple of bedrooms and a bath myself, but after they started I increased the job to include the whole interior. They can do in a day what it would take me a week to do. I am very pleased with their work, punctuality, and the care they took of my home. Each indivual in the crew was very nice and very friendly. As I said, when I need painting in the future, Painting the Town will be at the top of my list.

We contacted Painting the Town after locating the business on Angie's List because its reviews were impressive. A co-worker, who had exterior painting done by them, also recommended them. I am pleased to say that the previous glowing reviews reflected our experience, as well. Skip Risk, who owns and operates the business with his wife, Robin, came to our home to do the estimate. Skip was professional and knowledgeable. The estimate we received was not the lowest among the three companies from which we obtained estimates, but we decided to hire Painting the Town based on the reviews of the quality of their work and the fact that we felt comfortable with Skip and his staff (not sub-contractors) in our home while we were at work. They were able to schedule the work quickly (I believe within the next week or so). They showed up each day a few minutes early and rang the bell promptly at 8:00 a.m. They cleaned up after themselves and left our home in good condition. The quality of the work was very nice. There was one issue with wall paint that got on the baseboard and was not covered by the white trim paint. After relating that to Skip, he personally came to the house and fixed it. We are so pleased with the beautiful paint job and the hassle-free experience of working with Skip and Robin. We also felt the cost of the work was a good value. For those reasons, we would hire them again and highly recommend Painting the Town to others.
