Painting The Town

Back in 2013, Skip and Robin and team painted our entire condo. From the moment they entered our home to take pictures and give us our free estimate, to the moment we handed them our check for a finished job, it was an amazing, smooth experience. Skip and Robin are friendly, professional, motivated, helpful, and their team is too. The job itself was accurate, the workmanship impeccable, and the time it took was minimal. And this is exactly why we are hiring them again for a paint job in a different home 3 years later! This is an A+ team, folks!

Skip and his wife Robin who does the scheduling were fantastic. I was scheduled to have surgery in October so my wife and I were wanting to get some interior projects done before my procedure. Robin and skip adjusted their work schedule around to get our painting project done before I had surgery. Their painting crew was very professional, friendly and courteous. They were on time and did a great job including the clean up. I would not hesitate to use Painting the Town in the future, we highly recommend them.

We had a time sensitive schedule, and they were able to accommodate us. Despite our requirement that they get the job done quickly, they maintained attention to detail throughout the job. In fact, they were meticulous. From scheduling the estimate to completion of the job, we were very pleased! Skip and Robin and their crew were very professional, and a pleasure to work with. I was very comfortable having them in our home. They showed up at 7:50 am every day and worked hard. We are beyond pleased. I recommend them without reservation, and I plan to use them in an upcoming project.

Excellent service and a very professional paint job!! Skip and Robin were a joy to work with from beginning to end. Skip came by the house to see what work needed to be done; we received a written bid by email within 24 hours. I was in a time crunch and really wanted all work finished by end of May; despite their busy schedule they managed to get us on the schedule and within 6 working days the entire job was finished including priming kitchen cabinets and giving them 3 coats of paint. Their work crew is polite, on time, and neat; cleaned up afterward every day. I will definitely be using them again for future work! Judy Blum

Skip and Robbin came in to give us an estimate. I have to say, we were impressed from the get go. They are very professional, friendly and really respect your belongings. Skips eye for detail is awesome. He spotted right off the bat that the previous prep work was not done correctly. He noticed things that I didn't even notice. Repairs I made that I thought looked pretty good he said he could make it look better (awesome) we had some water stains on the ceiling in several spots from our old roof that needed repair and he noticed those as well. We got two other bids one of which is well known in the area and the other one from "Home Advisor" I think we scared him off because this was a big job we never heard from the guy again. The other contractor came in and didn't even notice anything unless I pointed it out. Well, there was no question we were going to go with Skip. Also Skip had our estimate within 24 hours. I sent Robbin an email saying we were using them. We set up a date. Skip and his crew showed up on time. Moved and covered furniture and removed drapes and wall hangings. Let me tell you that Skip and his guys really know their trade and did whatever was needed to make it right. They made recommendations on the trim, we used their color consultant and found out we almost made a mistake on one color so we made a couple adjustments and WOW! At least 2 coats on the trim and walls and I actually think it was more like 3 or 4 in some. Skip found places that he wasn't happy with and re-did it. I really don't think the other contractor would have done a fraction of what Skip did. He patched and fixed places I didn't even know needed fixing! Well, the job took 5 days just like he said. They finsihed, cleaned up, moved stuff back, hung drapes. Let me tell you, they did an AWESOME job on everything. The colors are great and really love them. the doors and trim are perfect! Skip and the guys worked very hard, they are very meticulous and when they finished, Skip went around with a light and checked things to make sure everything was perfect! I don't usually write reviews but I had to write this one. If you need any painting done and want an awesome job at a more than reasonable price, don't bother wasting your time with other bids, just give Skip & Robbin With Painting The Town a call and have them run out and you'll see what I mean. Oh, and one more little tid bit. When they came in, the first thing they did was remove their shoes. Maybe not a big deal to you but that impressed me. When the one guy from "Home Advisor" came in, he had these big construction boots on and just went right on through without a thought. Our carpet is getting replaced but what if it wasn't and we just had it cleaned! Anyway, sorry for being so wordy but you need to get Skip and his crew on your next painting job. I'll be using him from on for my painting needs.

This was a wonderful experience!! Skip and Robin run an excellent business. I called to get an estimate for a lot of work on our very old 1900s house that we just purchased. Skip showed up on time, was very nice, and even split our estimate into three parts since we knew we'd have to do the work in stages since the job was so large. A few days later he showed up with a team and they got right to work. All of the guys were incredibly nice, hardworking, and did an amazing, professional job. They showed up on time each day and worked full days to get the job done. They were very personable! We have already hired them back to do more work to the house, and while they're here we're getting a 3rd quote for an additional project. Robin was great as well - very easy to get into contact with and was always very responsive. What I really appreciated was they went above and beyond the job - evened out some ugly looking walls, touched up trouble areas, removed old curtain hardware that our sellers left behind. We would highly recommend Painting the Town to anyone who has a painting need!

Another FANTASTIC experience with Skip, Robin and the Crew!!! These folks show up on time, are on a regular works schedule, friendly, professional and get the job done right and absolutely to your liking. They did such a great job on my new finished basement, living room, office and upstairs rooms that we had to have them come back and do the rest of the house. I would not even consider calling anyone else for future painting needs

Everything went very well. Everyone was very pleasant to deal with. They accomplished all that was listed in the original quote. We were very satisfied with the work that was performed. We had just bought this house and the paint was in very poor condition. The house looks like new inside now. Thanks to all of the guys that worked on our job. It was very much appreciated. Also they took very good care of our dog Lola while working on the house. Lola enjoyed having them here also. Great Job....

Robin was very prompt in returning my first call and was eager to help us out, even though we were on the outskirts of their normal service area - we're in New Albany and they're in Taylorsville, KY. I sent some pictures over and received a quote in a timely manner. Once I accepted the quote, they had an opening in their schedule about a week later. They arrived promptly, were extremely professional and friendly, and easily finished the project that day. The quality of the paint job was fantastic. We have high ceilings and some tight spots to work through, and they did a great job. They even did some touch-up painting in our kitchen. We would gladly use them again for another larger painting project in our home.

FABULOUS! Have avoided this project dreading the ordeal. Finally decided to make the leap, found Painting The Town on Angie's List, they had great reviews especially for wall paper removal. They did a great job, love the new look. They worked with my schedule, were prompt, pleasant, cleaned up. I would definitely use them again or recommend them. THANKS!

Just an update. It is now May and Robert came out to finish the deck. When the time came to pick a color, I spoke with the owner Skip and found out they are now using a new and improved product that has a longer life. A color was chosen and Robert did a magnificent job. The deck looks beautiful. Took all of one day to complete. Robert once again was easy to work with. He made sure the job was done correctly. Thanks Robert and Skip. Next job will be later in the year with more painting

I had several estimates for this work. Painting the Town's estimate was not the least expensive, BUT Skip's thoughtful review of the space during the estimate netted several strong suggestions about transitioning color in an open floor plan. He really THOUGHT about the finished job. The owners, Skip and Robin, have been a dream to deal with throughout. True professionals and just plain good people. I was so pleased with their work that I had them back quickly to do the remaining rooms. IMPORTANT NOTE: These gyys are perfectionists who will NOT accept less than excellent results. When they arrived to do the additional work, Skip was immediately displeased with the way the paint had cured in my foyer and living room. He called Sherwin-Williams and had their local rep in my home that morning. The rep agreed that it didn't look as it should and agreed to pick up the cost of repainting (materials and labor). The result is stunning -- and Painting the Town took the initiative on fixing what looked good but not great -- without my saying a word. I cannott say enough positive things about the crew -- they were professional and of good humor while working very hard. One of the painters made an additional sugggestion that improved the look of my dining room, and they cared about doing it RIGHT. It was a pleasure to have these guys in my home. They respected my stuff and were just terrific all around. Having never had rooms painted before, I didn't know what to expect -- and this was an excellent experience from start to finish. UPDATE: Getting the additional rooms done was another superlative experiece with a professional, pleasant crew. The work was finished quickly and excedingly well and I will have them back to treat and stain my deck this spring. If you want the best, Painting the Town will exceed your expectations.

The team was terrific. I never realized how out of shape we had let our walls get until Skip & team came to the rescue. I shopped the top painters on Angie's List (5). Skip was competitively priced but was the only one who came in, offered advice and listened to our needs. His proposal was the ONLY one that took in all aspects we discussed. His team was unbelievable, professional and very accommodating. They come in, move quick and make sure the homeowner is not inconvenienced. They were on site 8 days and worked hard each day. They were perfectionists. I thought they were done but they'd notice imperfections and add a 3rd coat if needed to meet their standards. I felt so comfortable with them, I was able to leave them alone in the home. They even took care of our aging pup along the way. Can't say anything negative on this group what so ever. They stuck to the quote and did not try to upsell along the way. You are making a mistake if you don't consider them for your job.

They were very responsive when we contacted them. We set up the appointment, an emergency came up, but they let us know a day ahead of time that they were going to need to reschedule, so we had plenty of time to reschedule.

Excellent company did an excellent job. I did not get other quotes, so I can't really judge the pricing. I called one other contractor but, they did not get back with me, so I went with Painting the Town based on other good reviews. We thought we would have to get new shutters, but Skip said they could clean and paint them and now they look like new. He also installed a new doorbell and hung a new porch light. The crew were very nice and friendly, always showing up on time and leaving on time. They left no mess behind. House looks beautiful! Plan on having them back again. Would highly recommend.

Skip and Robin's knowledge, friendliness and professionalism sealed the deal! They have a painting consultant available for the scary job of selecting paint colors and was a great help! The painters, Robert and Steve, take great pride in their work. Very detail oriented. Explained what they were doing that day and what to expect when they returned. I don't know how they did it, but my walls are smooth (no holes or cracks) and look beautiful! They were very careful with furniture and floors...not a drop of paint where it shouldn't be (unlike my hubby lol) Thank you so much Robert and Steve!

It took them a little while to get started after the initial contact, but the wait was well worth the outcome. My kitchen and garage have never looked better. I would hire these guys again in a minute as they were prompt and professional to deal with. They quality of the work speaks for itself.

They were excellent. They were on time. They did exactly what they said they would, they don't skimp. The owner will not cut corners.

I am so pleased with the result of Painting the Town's work. Everything looks beautiful. A small army came to my house to complete the project; the crew was able to knock out the work in a single day.

Painting The Town is with a doubt the best painting company we've ever worked with, & believe me we have dealt with some bad situations. Robin & Skip were wonderful to work with. Very personal & helpful!! They did exactly what they said they would. Their painters were right on time both days, worked hard while they were here, very accommodating since we were here the whole time they were working on our house. They cleaned up each day so we could continue to use the rooms that they were working on. The work they did for our old house matched up perfectly. Whenever we need painting done again, we definitely will go with Painting The Town.

Skip and his team did a great job for us. There was some delay caused by the weather but once it was scheduled, the guys did a beautiful and professional job. Robin was in touch from my initial call right through the night before work began to make sure that all was well. We will be switching interior painters to Painting The Town after seeing what a nice job they did on our deck.

They first painted half of the house. I was really impressed with them and so called them again to do the rest of the house. I thought that the price was reasonable. They were all very nice. They moved all the furniture and stuff for me. They put everything back as it was. They did a good job.

These guys are fantastic! Their cutting was METICULOUS. They made repairs (filling in nail holes, repairing minor cracks), and sanded the entire wall so it was smooth. They painted all the ceilings, doors, windows and walls of all the rooms mentioned above. Great room has 18 foot ceilings. Huge master closet with lots of shelving. We've had several homes in the past painted by professionals, and these are by far the best painters we have ever hired. They were very professional, friendly, punctual, and so clean, absolutely a delight to work with. In addition, they finished an entire day ahead of schedule. I HIGHLY recommend this company if you are in need of painting!

I'm not someone who writes reviews very often but felt that Skip and his crew did such an amazing job I needed to share the news. Everyone was very polite, friendly, and were on time or communicated in advance if there would be changes in the schedule. Skip made great suggestions and went above and beyond satisfying all my requests. At the completion of the project my wife and I were blown away by the transformation. We both thought we walked into a Homearoma home. The thing that stands out the most for me was their attention to detail. I couldn't find anything missed and their corners were perfect. I truly believe they treated my home with the same care and detail they would have for their own. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them to anyone.

Angie's List should have an "A PLUS" rating, because this team deserves it! Robin called me within an hour of contacting them from Angie's List, and her professional, extremely personable manner indicated to me that this was the business to use. Skip came by a few days later to take a thorough look at the work to be done and pointed out additional repairs from a roof leak that I missed. He has a great eye for detail! The team started within a week..they were here for 4 days! I had a lot to be done. When I first me the guys, I could tell by their firm handshakes and eye contact that they were true professionals , and they were a TRUE TEAM. They all really liked each other and you could see and feel the camaraderie. Their prep work was excellent...their respect for my home and its belongings remarkable. They covered all the flooring that they were going to walk on, not just the rooms that were being done. The icing on the cake is their gem of a painting expert, Shanna! I was struggling with my master bedroom and her suggestions dramatically changed my master into an elegant retreat. She is part of their Sherwin Williams paint team, so there was no additional charge for her expertise! Skip had excellent suggestions throughout this process...the team works like clockwork...I could not be happier. They will be doing more work at my home soon! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! Worth every penny!
