Mike Perry Masonry

What I find effective about them is that they don’t want to rip everything down and start all over again. They only replaced what needs to be and that what made his work so much better and so much reasonable than the other companies I have talked to. What I appreciated to was when he re-built it the way it originally looked. A lot of other companies tear it down and build it the way they want to build it. He rebuilt the same as it was which I really appreciate.

The entire experience working with Mike was wonderful. It took me nine months before I wrote this review, but I still love the fireplace and will not ever forget Mike's professionalism and attention to detail. Mike was punctual, communicated effectively, and even worked my job in to insure it would be ready before company arrived for 2014 KY Derby party. He explained every detail of his planned design and worked with me along the way to collaborate on minor changes along the way. The manufactured stone looks great against my original brick and the fireplace is now a great centerpiece for my outdoor under deck patio. Mike paid extreme attention to every detail and went out of his way to make everything perfect. Mike set the bar very high for contractors out there and I can see from his Angie's list reviews and my experience is consistent with others validating his rating. I will call Mike for any and all future projects that fit his expertise.

The job went tremendously well. Mike delivered on everything that was promised and more. He and I happened to be outside talking about my chimney flu on the inside of the fireplace. I had mentioned to him that the guy I had clean my chimney previously had said that I had a problem with the craftsmanship of the way it was built. He gladly came inside and inspected it and I was relieved to find that in fact there was nothing wrong. He did however find a couple of mortar joints between the fire brick that had come out which I never noticed or had paid attention to. He didn't have anything on the truck at the time to fix it, but promised to come back in a week or so and repair the two joints for me at no charge. I told him that I would pay him for his time coming back and he refused. He did in fact come back as promised and repaired the two mortar joints. It only took him about five minutes and I tried to give him 40.00 cash when he left for doing the extra work and he wouldn't take it. I wanted to shove it in his pocket, but decided against it since he is much larger than I am. I wouldn't hesitate to use Mike again on any masonry project that I needed done. I can see why he has received an A+ service award for two years running. Great Job Mike!!!!!!

I was very satisfied with all aspects of my interaction with Mr. Perry.

He put clean quilts all around the chimney to protect my new roof. He covered the bushes with thick plastic. He cleaned up anything that dropped on the driveway.

Mike provided a prompt estimate and gave a date for start. We thought the estimate to be fair. Weather interfered and he kept us posted on when he could get the work started. When we did start, he was prompt and always let us know what he was doing, when he would be finished and he returned exactly when he said he would. during the stucco repairs, he found several areas we had not seen. We told him to complete the repairs and we trusted him on the ultimate cost. Given the cold and rain, the work was done in a timely manner and it really looks great! The final invoice was again, reasonable, and we are really glad to have Mike do our work. We have already recommended him to two friends and will have him back to work with our concrete drive in the spring.

Mike was very professional and knowledgeable. He walked around the entire home with me when he came out to give me an estimate. He did all of the repairs plus a few additional items that were not on the original estimate at no charge. I would definitely recommend Mike to anyone needing brick work.

Mike Perry and his team did a fantastic job. We knew the retaining wall had not been built by expert masons before Mike got started. We were all surprised to find how poorly the wall had been built once the wall had been torn down. The job ended up being much larger and more complicated than originally anticipated or estimated. Nevertheless, Mike went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure the wall was rebuilt to HIS standards. We are so pleased with the outcome. Anyone should feel completely comfortable hiring Mike. He will thoroughly explain each step and how he'll meet and exceed your expectations. You cannot go wrong!

Mr Perry was extremely professional and really went the extra mile to assure I was satisfied with the repairs. He even made major repairs to brickwork at the top of my chimney that was not included in his original estimate at no extra charge. He stained foundation to make everything look new, fresh and covered the repairs. Looks awesome. I will recommend him highly to all my friends, family and business associates. I do plan on having him come back out to replace my current walkway and add a back patio. If you need brick, block or stone work...Mike Perry is the guy to call. Thanks again Mike!!

Mike does beautiful work in every detail and he uses excellent materials. When I first contacted him he responded immediately and, once work started, he stayed with the job until it was completed. The job site was very orderly and neat and was spotless when he finished. He is very communicative about building issues and I got good advice from him. it is important, however, to give him lots of "lead time" to do the project as he is very busy. I think the price was very fair considering all that he did. The result looks terrific and I feel secure knowing that an important structural aspect of the house is in good shape now.

My husband called Mike Perry Masonry after seeing his ad the August Louisville Edition of Angie's List. He scheduled an appointment fro Thurs., Aug. 14 between 5 and 6 PM for an estimate on a masonry problem. He didn't show up, didn't call and cancel, or call and reschedule. My husband called him again to set an appointment on August 19th. He didn't return his call. Based on this experience, this contractor doesn't seem to be reliable.

Mike's work is amazing. The porch looks wonderful, and Mike went above and beyond to make sure the new and old bricks matched perfectly. We are so pleased, that we intend to use Mike again to repair or replace 2 brick retaining walls,. When we get ready to add an electric gate at the end of the driveway, we would definitely use Mike to build our stone pillars. Top quality workmanship, and a nice guy to do business with.

Mike was punctual when he came out to quote the work I needed. He said as the jobs were small, he would fit me in between other jobs he had on his schedule. This was about six weeks, the only reason for giving him a B on responsiveness, though it was no big deal. He and his partner laid down drop sheets and covered plants before starting work and then cleaned up after they were finished. Their work was excellent and I intend using his services again soon.

It was a little difficult making connections with Mike and getting the work scheduled. In fact, he had to call my husband to make sure he could come THAT MORNING. Mike's brother, Troy, did all the work. When I arrived home, he was cutting and fitting bricks in the stairs. I needed to work on the front porch at the same time, so we spent a lovely couple hours working together. He brought out his speaker and asked me what kind of music I liked. We listened to Pandora as we worked. We picked Mike because he said he could cut the stone shelves out of the chimney. Other brick masons said they couldn't do it. He lived up to his word. Not only did he get the shelves out and the brick replaced, he was also able to remove other bricks where a previous remodel had bricked in a vent. I can now access the duct work! and to top it all off, I kept showing Troy other places where the mortar needed to be repaired. He happily fixed them all and even found a spot I didn't see.

If you are searching for the best in Masonry work.....look no further! My experience with Mike Perry was superb. My brick walkway and steps were only 4 years old, but had deteriorated very badly. Mike arrived and did an assessment and toid me that they could be saved, repaired and looking great once again. The quote presented was certainly very acceptable. His crew arrived and did the pressure washing. The loose grout was removed carefully and replaced to match the existing grout. After that had dried the crew arrived again and acid washed the bricks...restoring more color to them as a bonus. When the bricks had completely dried, they applied a commercial waterproofing sealant to the bricks. A few days later, Mike arrived to followup on my satisfaction with the work. Superb! I will be referring him to my friends. I am so glad I found him on Angie's List!

Mr. Perry matched our brick perfectly and was able rebuild utilizing existing brick when able that significantly reduced the cost of the repair. The chimney looks spectacular. He did the repair very quickly, was very professional, reliable and honest. I would highly recommend you use Mike Perry for any of your masonry work. We will definitely use his services in the future, if ever needed.

Mike was quick to respond to my call for a quote. We missed one appointment to look at job but quickly followed up with a rescheduled visit. Explained thoroughly what needed to be done and how it would be done. Followed up within a day or so with a quote, which I thought was reasonable. Mike told me that he was out several weeks in his schedule, but would slip me in if he had an opening. He called within two weeks to say he could make it over for the one day job and half an hour later he and crew were there ready to go to work. They did a complete and thorough job. The workmanship was excellent. The chimney cap was beautifully done, The mortar repair was done cleanly and matched the old mortar nicely. Mike even wire brushed mold and moss that had accumulated on the brick at the top of the chimney and blew out leaf accumulation in one of my gutters on his way down from the roof! He again explained the job and what was done when they were finished and how he would be back in a few days to acid wash the new mortar. All in all, a great experience. Mike and crew offered friendly, professional service. And provided an excellent, complete job at a competitive price. Highly recommend.

Mortar on the sidewalk had deteriorated a bit in recent years, but this past winter really did some damage. Mr. Perry met with us and explained what was required. Fortunately, no surprises, the job was about what we expected. He's detail oriented, removing and repairing the damaged mortar, then matching the new mortar with the old. We are very pleased with the results. The whole sidewalk looks new.

The project went perfectly. Mike is a very knowledgable and skilled brick mason.

The original contact with Mike went well. We scheduled an appointment to meet at my home to discuss the work my husband & I wanted done. He was seemingly organized on the phone stating that he had us down on the appointment book and repeated the details of date & time back to me. When the appointment day arrived he called me at 7 pm (the time of the scheduled appointment) to let us know he was leaving a job site and would arrive shortly. He never showed & never called back. We waited until 9:30 pm before turning off the downstairs lights and front porch light. The next day I called him & left a voicemail. I haven't heard anything else from him and that was 4 days ago. Unbelievable.

Really a wonderful experience! He was knowledgable, professional and very nice. The job looks great! We will use him again and recommend to our friends.

Mr Perry came out quickly after I called and discussed with me what needed to be done. He had an estimate in under 48 hrs and we were scheduled for the repairs in under a week. He even came back to fix a small crack I noticed higher up than the work he did, as well as apply another coat of sealant at no additional cost. While he was there, when I asked, we discussed a few other potential brick repairs on the outside of my home. I would definitely use him again. And will most likely call for the extra brick repairs we have.
