Middletown Roofing Windows and Siding Inc

We have used Middletown Roofing for 2 years for maintenance of our roofs. I am the board member for the Home Owner's Association in charge of roofing service for a patio home complex that has 104 homes. Middletown Roofing has been taking care of our roofs, gutters, siding/chimney repair for some time now. They are quick to respond, neat, clean and very professional. They are more than happy to meet with our insurance agent and work with us. They have never had to come back after a repair because it was not done correctly. We are most pleased with everything about their service and will continue to use them for all of our roof, gutter and siding maintenance.

Middletown Roofing did an excellent job on all four of the projects they did for us. The project was done very well and in a timely manner. They also were very neat in the work they did. The owner is a hard working, honest man. I would highly recommend this company.

The roof is gorgeous and has worn well since we had it replaced in 2012. We've had Middletown come back out a couple of times since to repair shingle pops at a nominal cost. We've always been very pleased with their professionalism, promptness and quality personnel. At this house, we also used them to replace an entry door and storm door. At a previous residence, they replaced all of our windows as well as two doors after a break-in.

We had several bids. They charged $4300 per unit. They hauled off all the old material. They did it on a systematic basis, billing a building. The only question that I may have is that they used hand guns to nail the shingles instead of hand nailing, and I would ask if the length of nails that they used is longer than what we had previously. He hasn't resolved any problems that I know of as far as leaks and concerns, but they just seemed like they were maybe the wrong sized nails. They were maybe oversized.

They were good, and relatively inexpensive.

They were pretty reasonable with price, but the only thing I didn't like about them was they subcontracted the guys out to do guttering that they should have done the whole work with. If I had a chance to do it all over again I wouldn't use the company I used to do the gutters because they put the wrong gutters on at first and so I paid for a high price gutter to install and they took it off again and they had to come up the next day. So whoever they subcontracted for the facia board I wasn't too pleased with them. I'm happy with the roof job, but I'm very dis-happy with the gutter job.

Initial install went fine. Problem is with the quality. New roof put on July 2012. I discovered a heavy leak in a closet Oct 2014 and the wood was rotten and drywall was riddled with mold. It was obvious that the roof had been leaking for some time. Only a two year warranty on labor. I called immediately to have someone come out and examine the cause and fix it. The repair person was very dismissive and continued to turn the conversation towards not accepting blame for this issue and claiming he couldn't tell where the water was getting in. I imagine it was due to the labor warranty being out by two months. He was on the roof for only a few minutes. Luckily, it has not rained a lot since then and I have had the drywall replaced. I cannot trust any work that this company has done and will seek out another company to give my a roof inspection to find out what the problem is and have them fix it.

They did a great job, we were very pleased with the work. They were on time. Everything worked out for the best.

The area they cut in my roof was not leaking. The patch job should have never happened. They did not replace rotten wood or put shingles on. My roof has a large triangular area with no shingles. They used a modifier. They did not disclose to us that it would look like a triangle without shingles. They have provided compensation, but the owner was extremely rude to both of us.

The work was done quickly and at a great price. We had three days of strong storms following the repairs and saw no evidence of leaking. David (I think that was his name) was even kind enough to fix two pieces of loose siding while he was up on the roof.

Less than 2 years ago, Middletown Roofing replaced the roof as it was before storm damage. We assumed that the roof would be good for 25 years and that the 2-year warranty would cover any problems that might occur during the warranty period. The house was recently sold. During an inspection, the buyer's insurance company refused to insure the house because of curling shingles. Middletown Roofing and IKO, the shingle manufacturer, met to discuss the problem and both agreed that the problem was caused by excessive heating of the roof, likely caused by inadequate ventilation of the roof. Since the problem showed in the shingles, Middletown Roofing said their warranty would not cover repair costs. IKO took a sample of the shingles to conduct an analysis to see if the shingles were bad and, therefore, if their warranty would cover repair. IKO's analysis indicated that the shingles were manufactured to specifications and, therefore, their warranty would not apply. When Middletown Roofing replaced the roof less than 2 years ago, they did not indicate any ventilation problems or advise us on potential impact of those problems on roof integrity and life. Had they done so, as professional roofers, we believe the current problem would not have occurred. Since Middletown Roofing "washed their hands" of the problem, we contracted with another roofing company to repair the roof and bring the ventilation system up to standard. This cost us money that we should not have had to pay.

Excellent ... Competitive price. Roman said it would take 4-5 days and it did (4days)! The price was as negotiated, the crew was super neat and friendly. The job was very well done (per my bldg. Inspector) and the clean-up was superb. what else could you ask for!

Work was completed in a timely fashion; they cleaned up the job site. Great job!

Roman (the owner) was very nice and professional. He explained what we needed in detail. My elderly mother really appreciated the time he spent with her. He did not try to oversell. The price for their roof was cheaper than others. This company is well established and you can really trust them. The roofers were very professional and did a WONDERFUL job. The President, Roman Giordana, appeared promptly to offer his proposal. The proposal was detailed, specifying exactly what would be done. The cost was fair. The workmen arrived as scheduled, worked until the job was completed, and cleaned up on completion. I could not be more satisfied with the professionalism and quality of the job. I would certainly recommend the company to others.

Chris was very professional,and cleaned up all the debris he cleaned off the roof and gutters.

I was more than pleased with the job that Middletown Roofing did. Roman came to our house and explained the process. Then he gave us a written estimate. Once we signed the contract, Roman let us know exactly when the roofing crew would arrive and how long the job would take. He was patient with us as we had lots of questions. The materials arrived right when they planned and the crew arrived the next morning to start the job. Our job was supposed to take 2 1/2 days but because of the heat it took a little longer - 4 days. But that was fine - the crew cleaned up each night and did an especially thorough job of cleaning at the end of the job. We are very please with our new roof. Middletown provided all of the final paperwork to our insurance company - we didn't have to do anything. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

I could not be more pleased with our entire experience with Middletown Roofing. The only aspect of the extensive work the company did for us that we didn't immediately find satisfactory was the guttering, but in the end, the company's efforts to correct problems with the gutters became the most impressive proof of its commitment to customer satisfaction. More about that later in this review. In the early spring, guided chiefly by reviews on Angie's List, we solicited bids from two roofing companies. One bid was from a large company that has branches in several cities in the region, and the other was from Middletown. The estimates from both companies were similar in details and pricing, but the salesman for the larger company, though very pleasant and professional, seemed to take a take-it-or-leave-it attitude. Roman Giordana, on the other hand, Middletown's owner, not only came to our home and prepared the estimate himself, but he made it clear to me that he was willing to negotiate every detail of the choice of materials and pricing. More than once, he told me pointedly that he wanted our business and wanted to ensure our complete satisfaction. He was as good as his word. Before I agreed to sign the contract, he offered a significant discount in the overall price. When I asked about the merits of a different type of shingle from the one we had originally discussed, he gave what seemed to me a frank and knowledgeable explanation of the arguments for and against each type. When we asked for a type of shingle and a siding color that required him to special-order the materials, he did so promptly and without complaint -- telling me once again that he wanted our complete satisfaction. The roofing and siding crews did their work quickly and skillfully, and their cleanup was meticulous. I asked for hand-nailing and for all weakened woodwork beneath the shingles to be replaced. Both were done as asked, and I was very pleased to see on our invoice that 270 feet of woodwork had been replaced on the house and garage. When I reported that the roofing crew had accidentally torn the screen in a screen door on our deck, the company promptly replaced the screen. Middletown does not have a chimney division, but it arranged for a partner company to do needed chimney work, which amounted to brick replacement and installation of a crown and metal caps. The last work completed on our home -- and the only work that I initially found disappointing -- was the guttering. The first stage of gutter work to be completed was on the garage. That work appeared satisfactory, but the gutter crew drove off with our stepladder, leaving behind a rickety stepladder of their own. We reported that, assuming it was simply a mistake. It was several weeks before the gutter crew came back to install gutters on the house. They returned our stepladder on that visit, but I found that the top platform on the ladder was split almost completely through, making it hazardous to use. It was another several weeks before the roofing crew brought us a new stepladder identical to the one they had broken. I also had questions about the quality of the work on the gutters installed on the house. Some of the downspouts seemed poorly attached to the exterior of the house, and at least one downspout clearly had not been firmly attached to the gutter it was supposed to drain. When I reported my concerns to Middletown, the gutter crew's supervisor (his name is Roger) came to our home, inspected the work and agreed it was flawed. He spotted several additional facets of the work that he judged needed improvement. Within a few days of Roger's visit, the gutter crew came back and made all the improvements on the list that their supervisor had prepared for them. We still have at least one problem in getting good drainage away from the house, but that problem may go beyond the gutter crew's responsibility. Despite the initial disappointment that I felt with the gutter work, I found this eventual outcome to be a clear demonstration of the sincerity behind Roman Giordana's repeated statements that he wanted not only our business but our complete satisfaction with the work his company did for us. As of today, I do feel completely satisfied. I would recommend Middletown to any homeowner who needed any of the sorts of work we needed done on our house. The only caveat I would add would be to raise questions in advance about the professionalism of the gutter crew. I suspect any problems of that sort might be fully addressed by now -- but still, asking a few questions can't hurt.

The crew showed up at 8am and immediately went to work. They worked very h****** an extremely hot day and did a great job. I cannot find anything to criticize. My only concern was about my dog stepping on nails in the yard after the team left, but they cleaned up very well. I have not been able to find a single nail in my yard. I am very pleased with the workmanship and outcome of my new roof.

Roof was leaking at vent flashing. This had been a continuing issue that had been addressed several times by another roofing company. Apparently, that company used the wrong diameter flashing, and had not properly seated it under the shingles. The work took longer than they estimated, but they stuck to the agreed price. Despite heavy rains since, so far, so good. I'm happy to have found a new roofer on Angie's List.

Marcos was on time for estimate and professional. Job was completed without any problem. Area was cleaned up and nothing left behind. Would definitely use them again.

Parker, the salesman, was efficient, professional and punctual. The roofers did a good job and very thorough. Roman was very kind, efficient and professional. The vent that went to the kitchen stove was leaking and they came out that day and put on a new vent and said, if there was any other problem to call and they would take care of it. I was pleased with such efficiency in taking care of the problem. I have in the past recommended Middletown and would again. Not many companies today have such ethics and is much appreciated when a company takes care of the customer.

They never returned to do the work . Day they were scheduled it rained rescheduled but never showed up.

Chris came out to bid the work. He showed up around the scheduled time. He got up on the roof (2 stories up and a steep pitch) to inspect, and came down with pictures to explain his quote. The bid was so good that I asked if he could repair it right then, and he did. There have been 2 heavy rains since his repair and no more leaks! Thanks.

Roman and Middletown roofing were great. From beginning to end they went above and beyond our expectations. Every item was explained and followed through to completion. We were extremely satisfied with all phases of the project and would definitely have them again and highly recommend them to anyone interested in a new roof. Roman was very professional and handled all areas of the project with knowledge and honesty. Kudos to Middletown Roofing!
