Whirlpool refrigerator quit working. Called Whirlpool. Was told there was a recall on the drain plug in our model. They scheduled Maytag Service Company as their service provider. Whirlpool told us they would pay for the part but we must pay for service and labor. Maytag Service Company charged us $89 to walk thru our door. We had fridge pulled out, defrosted, and cleaned. Part change took 15 minutes tops. Service tech never asked what the issues was or looked at any other part of fridge. Total charge was $124 for this repair that didn't fix the problem. Fridge still isn't working properly. The issues was not with the recall. Whirlpool is telling me it is the technicians fault for not inspecting the fridge. Maytag Service repair said it is Whirlpools fault for telling them it was the recall issue. Neither company will stand behind their product or service. All I wanted from the service company was to waive the $89 service call since I payed it and the issue was not fixed. I told them I would pay for labor and parts needed to fix the issue. They refused. I would NEVER use this company again or buy another Whirlpool.

Description of Work: Called them first to make sure they were able to work on my large built in Refridg , they assured me they could . Guy came out , spent first 10 min cracking silly jokes- then acted as if he'd never seen much less worked in this kind of fridge. I had to show him where the motor was. He then proceeded to google instructions on how to diagnose the problem . He finally said it could be one of 4 things, but still couldn't promise anything -he'd forgotten the little gadget that reads if the parts are getting electricity 😕 & he wanted to order all 4 parts - he did explain that I'd only pay for the one that worked . I felt like he was lost & in over his head - when he quoted me the prices of these parts I about died. I asked him to write down the parts needed & the parts # - he left saying he'd call when they were in. After he left, I called around to appliance parts stores only t find he'd marked the parts up a HUGE AMOUNT - one part sold for 59.00 - the guy quotes me 275.00 ( plus labor- this wasn't with labor built in !!! So yeah, needless to say I never had them back - I used a coupon from A List. But ended up getting it refunded.

When they got out here they had to call the people that made the washer for the schematic and tell them what the problem as try to get what the issue was. It took 4 visits in 6 visits to get it working. They had to order the parts.
Description of Work: I use Maytag Service to fix my washer.

We have an extended service plan for our Amana refrigerator thru United Service Protection. Refrigerator service was called for on 8.6.2014 Was assigned to Maytag of Louisville, Ky. Called service company on 8/7 to let them know that our REF was not working, was told that earliest that they could make the service call was 8/14. Because of the slow response time we lost all of our freezer material and 99% of the REF material, over $200.00 of material. Our United Service Protection policy said that they would cover up to $250.00. I am in the process of submitting a list of lost material because the service company was to busy to take care of this emergency. They did make the call on 8.14 and had to order the new electronic board. It finally arrived on 8.20 and was installed on 8.21. It seems to me that the service company should have an emergency policy for refrigerators to avoid a loss such as we had. So far the REF is running ok. I will have to say that the two service people knew their business and Dave one of the owners that installed the board was very knowledgeable about refrigerators, however, because of the slow response I cannot recommend this service agency. .
Description of Work: Replaced control board Cost of 1 year protection is $90.95/yr.

A pleasant experience.
Description of Work: Ice maker never worked well and finally went out. After they put a new one in, it still was not making ice in a sufficient way. Came back and fixed the problem. Great people!

Description of Work: This was servicing a Kitchenaid Dishwasher. I complained to Kitchenaid because I've had a lot of trouble with this 2 year old dishwasher. They sent Maytag Service Co. out and coverage all under warranty even though the warranty period ended after 1 year. The individual fixed the primary problem (clogged internal food disposal) but had to come back to fix the front panel. While he was there he explained everything well and gave me tips to improve results going forward. great service!!!

THE JOB WAS ADEQUATE. I THOUGHT IT WAS A BIT PRICEY FOR NO MORE WORK THAN THEY HAD TO DO. IT ALSO TOOK A WHILE TO GET SOMEBODY OUT HERE. THE SERVICE WASN'T BAD.
Description of Work: THEY READJUSTED THE BANDS ON THE WASHING MACHINE SO THAT IT WOULD AGITATE PROPERLY. THEY CLEANED OUT THE DRYER VENT AND REATTACHED IT.

THEY ARE BRAIN DEAD. THEY SERVICE MAYTAG BUT THEN THEY TOLD US THAT MAYTAG IS AN INFERIOR PRODUCT AND THEY RECOMMENDED THAT WE NOT BUY A MAYTAG. THAT'S THE REASON THEY JUST GOT BOUGHT OUT. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT MAYTAG REPAIR PEOPLE WOULD TELL US NOT TO BUY A MAYTAG.

I WASN'T HAPPY THAT THE WASHER KEPT ON BREAKING BUT I BELIEVE THAT IT WAS THE PRODUCT AND NOT THE FAULT OF THE MEN WHO CAME TO FIX IT. IT WAS GETTING FRUSTRATING THAT EVERY TIME THEY CAME OUT WE WOULD GET CHARGED FOR THE SERVICE. AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED IT BECAME EXPENSIVE.

THEY WEREN'T VERY ACCURATE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE HERE AT 10:00 IN THE MORNING AND DIDN'T SHOW UP UNTIL 2:00 IN THE AFTERNOON. THEY SAT AROUND AND TALKED MOSTLY INSTEAD OF DOING THE WORK SO I GOT CHARGED FOR THE TIME THAT THEY JUST SAT THERE. THEY DID FIX THE PROBLEM.

IT WAS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT HE DIDN'T HAVE THE PART IN STOCK, AND IT TOOK A TOTAL OF TWO WEEKS AND TWO TRIPS TO FIX A COMMON REPAIR. THE SERVICE MAN WAS VERY PLEASANT AND PERSONABLE, AND WORKED WITH ME FOR A CONVIENENT TIME TO COMPLETE THE JOB. THE FIRST TIME I HAD TO TAKE OFF WORK AND NO WORK WAS EVEN DONE ON THAT DAY BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE THE RIGHT PART. THE SECOND TIME WHEN HE ACTUALLY FIXED IT HE TRIED VERY HARD TO MAKE ME A HAPPY CUSTOMER.
