KENTUCKIANA COMPLETE HOME IMPROVEMENTS

The foundation and framing went well. At the point when they removed the plywood separating the addition/hallway from our kitchen, we were stunned to see that the floor level had not been well-planned. They were to have installed a stone floor in the bathroom, hallway, and to replace the kitchen floor with the same. The addition was 3 inches higher than our kitchen! This caused our first basement step to be a dangerous 3 inches higher than the rest of the steps, and the need to create a very ugly transit between the kitchen floor and the hardwood dining room floor in order for a wheelchair to move through the doorway. We had to redesign our kitchen cabinetry, raising the bottom cabinets 3 inches, tearing out the cabinet over the refrigerator, etc. There were many, many plumbing problems. We are still awaiting the hanging of a mirror in the bathroom. They did not insulate the pipes or the crawl space. We didn't have them start over. We'd have had to put my mother in a nursing home.
