I couldn't be happier with the expertise of my plasterer at Julius Schnurr and Sons. I had a burst pipe behind living room wall in my 1905 house on Cherokee Road. It has a coved ceiling and is quite ornate. The hole was about 10' by 3'. It took John three days to get it perfectly done, (it was just a large hole, no lath or anything) but it is, indeed, perfectly done. There are virtually no true plasterers in Louisville; they are dry wall folks. If you need a plasterer, call Schnurr. Not only are they the experts, they are also very reasonably priced.

The gentleman who came to repair the drywall was on time, personable, as well as professional. He said he would try to match the texture of the repaired drywall to the existing texture of the ceiling. It would have been impossible to have it done any better. After the texture dried, I couldn't tell where the hole had been. I was extremely pleased.

Work was done within a couple weeks of estimate and was done professionally and quickly. I would highly recommend them.

Extremely pleased with quality of work. Their knowledge of walls, plaster, etc is exceptional, and valuable for a 100 year old house. The final bill was several hundred dollars less than the estimate. These guys are good! One note - it was a month before they could start the actual work (had told me this up front).

The work went OK. The problem began soon after completion when tape in the joints began to peel. I did not contact them for repair as I could not bare having to empty the bedroom once again of all furnishings! That is quite an ordeal. I was very disappointed as I always thought Schnurr was the best!!

I had contacted several companies that I found on Angie's list and another home repair website along with recommendations from co-workers. It was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Companies would either never call back to set up an estimate, come out to the house and then never get back with a price, have a ridiculous price or a ridiculous time line for completing the job. IT WAS NOT THAT WAY WITH JULIUS SCHNURR & SONS INC. Jennifer was able to get John out for an estimate within a few days of calling her. He got back with us in a day with an estimate and then a revision to the estimate the next day. He come out a second time for an estimate to complete a bathroom while his crews were already here. The quote for the living room was mid range from the others that I finally did receive. The timeframe to start was 3 weeks after the estimate which allowed us to remove paneling and install insulation. The work was completed when they said even after I added on another project to complete making a bathroom paint ready which had been a nightmare for us to complete. Tom went over the top to ensure we were happy with his work and volunteered to adjust the medicine cabinet that was flush mounted and would have been difficult to close properly once it was mudded. The crews (2 separate crews) were both punctual, respectful and very professional. I would recommend JULIUS SCHNURR & SONS INC to anyone and everyone and would have absolutely NO ISSUE in hiring them again. Have not yet paid them because they send a bill!!! That is unheard of these days. I fully expected to pay them the day they completed the work. I assume the estimate will be as they said since they are extremely professional and a very well established company

John Schnurr came out 5/8/15 and inspected the job. He followed up with a proposal via e-mail that I accepted. At the time he came out he explained that they were currently scheduling jobs for the first week in June. The work was scheduled for 6/3/15 and was completed in one day. The workmen were pleasant and knowledgeable. They arrived promptly and cleaned up after themselves when the job was complete. Part of the repair was to a textured ceiling and the re-textured the newly plastered ceiling. I was happy with the job and would use them again

They did a great job. They matched it up exactly to the rest of the ceiling. They left no mess whatsoever. They were great. People came and did it and they were both very nice and put up with my dog. They did a very good job.

The only people I will every use for drywall work. I had horrible textured ceilings that I wanted scrapped and also needed new drywall hung as part of a remodel. The new drywall needed some serious mudding to match well with some old walls too. Tom showed up perfectly on time every day and was also very patient working around a couple other contractors. Such a talented company and I can't say enough good things about them.

I can't say enough about John and his workers. John was very patient with me. In fact he came out a second time before I hired him, to ensure he answered all of my questions about the quote and that we were both on the same page. I expected to pay much more for the work they did, so it was a bonus to have a smaller bill. I pay close attention to details, so I inspected the finished product very closely. They did an amazing job. They showed up on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day. Both of the workers spoke perfect English, so there were no communications issues. They both were pleasant and didn't mind answering my questions as the worked. One of my neighbors was so impressed that he stopped by to ask for the name of the company to get a quote for some work he needed.

They were spot on with their estimate, always here on time and when they said they would be and the job was well done. There estimate was also lower than several other contractors

The drywall repair person was punctual each of 2 days. He came well prepared to ready all spaces with plastic protection to cover walls,surfaces and floors. It was evident that Ronnie was an experienced craftsman and took pride in his work. He cleaned up each day - and when the job was finished, everything was back in order and beautifully ready for the painters. Yes, I would use him again and wholeheartedly recommend the Julius Schnurr and Sons, Inc. Company.

The work was done quickly and well. In fact, I couldn't even tell where the hole in the ceiling was to paint it until I got on the ladder and felt the ceiling! I was impressed with the quality of work and have already recommended them to a friend.

They were prompt and did a great cleanup each day.

Informed us not to do the major work until an exterior leak was fixed as the staining would return. Could have charged us twice but gave us good information instead.

New wall was not square, base for cement-board had to be totally redone, plaster work was fair, but not great.

I actually called someone else to do the job. When they came out they realized the job was too big for them and recommended Schnurr and Sons Inc. I called and had reservations as I did not reach anyone right away. John came out gave me an estimate which was in line with previous estimates I had received. They came out on time and while I was not there (had someone house sitting) I was told they were very polite and professional. It took about four days to complete, a little long I thought. the job was complete as scheduled and the did a great job!!!! would definitely hire again.

Schnurr clearly knows what he is working with when it comes to concrete stucco (many companies simply don't deal with it because it's harder to work with- I had to hunt for someone I felt good about). The price was higher than I wanted to pay, but I was willing to pay for the expertise. The work went just as planned, and it was done well. My only area for improvement was the timing- it took the guys a few days to finish the job. I didn't care about that, but it wasn't communicated to me what the ETA was. Each day when I came home from work I had to guess what the progress was. Finally one day their tarps were gone- that was how I knew they were finished. The buckling and cracking are gone now- that's what matters.

They did an excellent job. They were very professional and I can't say enough good things about them. They have also done work for a friends of mine as well and she has been very happy with the work.
