JC PENNY

The doctor performing the eye exam was running behind. The selection of frames was not what I expected and another company was offering a better deal. I didn't fill out any paperwork and asked the attendant if I could not go through with the appt. She said that was fine. The same day, later in the afternoon, I went to the other optical supply company and tried to get an eye exam and eyeglasses. They said they couldn't render any services because JC Penney Optical had "tied up" my insurance authorization. It took about an hour to find out what had happened and to report the situation to my insurance carrier. I will have to wait until JC Penney Optical "releases" and voids out the insurance authorization they performed under my name until I can get any services from anyone else. I am hoping it was a mistake that they didn't VOID the authorization once I left their office without having received any services. However, it truly makes me wonder if this was done purposefully since I chose to go with another company. I have to make yet 2 more calls tomorrow (to JC Penny Optical and to my insurance company) in order to finalize this process. I need the eyeglasses before going on vacation on 6/25 and JCP Optical's negligence and thoughtless actions may cause a problem with this. I will not use nor recommend their services to anyone in the future.

THEY SALES PERSON WAS VERY HELPFUL. IT WAS DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER AND WAS WELL DONE. WE LOOKED AT CATALOGS AND OTHER PLACES, BUT JC PENNY WAS THE ONE THAT WE WENT WITH.
