 + 0 moreExcellent. The plumber Michael was thorough. He fixed the two visible leaks and when a third was uncovered above the original 2, he fixed it as well at no additional cost (which was the proper thing to do!). The company charges $45.00 for an estimate. That fee is waived if they do the repair. On small jobs, they are probably a little pricey. In this case the price turned out to be excellent as it took 4 hours to complete the repair. The original 2 leaks were estimated to take 1.5 hours to fix. But the third leak was not detected. The estimate was $340.00. I used the Angie's List coupon and saved $25.00.

 + -1 morePaul had come out to check out the situation with the microwave and to provide an estimate. After looking at the panel box and the location of the microwave, he thought he could drop the wire down through the wall to the panel box. When he and his worker came out to the work on Dec 9, he determined that there was no wall cavity that he could drop the wire through and would have to go through the attic to drop it to the panel box. His worker went into the attic and worked with bring the wiring up to the attic and down to the panel box while Paul added a new breaked and connected the microwave wiring to it. He also inspected the panel box, breakers and wiring to make sure everything was clean and ok. The two worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. The two wore booties into my house which really impressed me!!!
Description of Work: My microwave was on the same circuit as my TV and kitchen lights, which caused a power problem if all were on. Jarboe's put the microwave on its own circuit.

 + 0 moreTechnician Andrew provided one of the best services I've ever experienced. Initially, he came out to give an estimate on completely replacing the entire kitchen drain from the 1st floor to the basement - something Dauenhauer Plumbing said had to be done (their quote was $1000). Andrew came in and spent over an hour researching the problem and found that the previous plumber's snake actually went into the vent pipe, instead of the actual drain. He snaked the correct drain and found that the issue was outside (something his snake couldn't fix) and came up with the brilliant solution just to re-route the drain into our basement sink's drain - they are not connected. He arrived exactly when he said he would the next morning and spent a few hours fixing our problem and even fixed the vent pipe the previous plumbers wanted to fix - for free. I couldn't be happier with this company and will recommend them to anyone seeking a plumber (they also do other services, which they will be my first contact).
Description of Work: Re-routed a kitchen drain pipe to connect to another drain in the basement. It was about 4 feet of PVC.

 + 0 moreIt went super well. The arrangement of the sink drains was different than that of the previous sink so they had to rearrange the plumbing under the sink to accommodate the new drains. They advised me that the fixture I had bought did not have the fixture that allows the dishwasher hose to avoid overrunning so they devised a way to "loop" the new hose to accomplish the same thing. I was impressed when they came into the door because they put on cloth booties so they wouldn't mess up my floors. I hardly new they had installed a new sink and fixture because there was no mess in the kitchen. They then replaced the bathroom shower heads, again with no mess in the bathrooms. I will use them in the future because I found out they are mufti-talented - they do electrical, plumbing, heating/cooling and remodeling. I thought their price was reasonable and was based on the job rather than the number of hours they spent with the job - I like that!!!
Description of Work: I originally contacted Jarboe's to install new fixtures in my kitchen and 2 bathrooms based upon a good experience with them in September when they repaired a leak in one of my bathroom toilets. I decided to replace my kitchen sink after having new counter tops installed so I asked Jarboe if they did that sort of work. Found out they did so I amended my request to have the new sink installed along with the new fixtures. I replaced the shower heads in my bathrooms with a hand held shower head, had a new kitchen sink installed and a new kitchen faucet with soap dispenser.

 + 0 moreOur bathtub drain emptied increasingly slowly over the past 6 months since we bought our house. When we finally became tired of taking a bath and a shower at the same time, we called Jarboe's for an estimate. They offered to have someone come out the next day, but we needed to schedule for a later day which they accomodated. The workers were punctual and friendly. They made an effort to keep my home neat during the process and cleaned up afterward. They also answered my questions throughout the process, including those not pertaining to the issue at hand. The tub is draining beautifully now. Would hire them again.
Description of Work: Fixed a slow draining bathtub by snaking and replacing part of the pipe.

 + -1 moreVery well. My Dad was at the house and he said they came in, found the problem, and had things back in order in 1 hour. The workers were very clean - I saw no evidence that they had been there - no dirt tracked in or mess left in the bathroom.
Description of Work: My toilet was leaking and I wasn't sure where. Jarboe's found the problem and replaced the toilet insides as well as the hose that connects the tank to the water supply.

 + -1 moreRecently purchased an older home and the HVAC systems seemed in good order, however it became evident within the first year that we needed some maintenance that previous owners had deferred. This firm was referred to me by an acquaintance who was customer, and they were the first I called. Very responsive, they made appointment right away, and the service techs showed up when promised. They checked all of our equipment and most registers and called several items to our attention that we could do to extend the life of the system and get more efficiency out of it. They performed what we requested on that appointment, and everything has continued to work well. Rather than try to sell us new equipment they recommended ways we can get more out of our existing equipment. They seemed knowledgeable and professional, and all in all a very good experience. I would recommend Zipper without reservation.
Description of Work: Needed service work on furnace and A/C system, HEPA filters replaced, ductwork upgraded, new programmable thermostat, etc. No major equipment replaced.

 + -1 moreI came home one day, and the house was much warmer than normal. I made an after-hours call to Zipper (they installed the AC/furnace and I have a service contract with them.) and a tech arrived within an hour. I was told there was a leak in the system, and because of that it had frozen up. While we waited for it to thaw, he did a bit of general maintenance, then charged the system, and arranged for a follow-up to determine the leak location. On the follow-up visit, the leak was located, the coolant topped up, things were cleaned, and a new coil was ordered. On the final visit, the new coil was installed, the system was charged again, cleaned again, and turned back on.
Description of Work: The central AC coil was replaced.

 + 0 moreThe project was delayed a few days due to their work volume. But once the project started it went quick and efficient (5 hours). They wear shoe covers in the house and they kept the work area as clean as the situation allows for. The pumps were tested and some adjustments were made to ensure proper pump performance. The main pump has already switched on twice due to heavy storms recently (worked great). The back-up pump was almost put into service due to a power outage but the power outage was brief and the main pump kept up.
Description of Work: Installed an upgraded sump pump and a city water powered back up pump.

 + 2 moreThey put booties on so they don't track up your house. They are courteous. They are good for plumbing work. They know what they are doing and they are conservative in their approach to the plumbing problem to try to limit the cost to the customer. I have used them for over 10 years.
Description of Work: I used Jarboe's for plumbing over a year ago. I have also used them for air conditioning work. They put in a sump pump before and they took care of a backed up shower. They have also installed a sink and new bathroom fixtures.

 + -1 moreThey showed up at the scheduled time. The whole office was cordial and kind. When they first came out they changed the hot and cold water handles. After they left I found out that it was too tight and I couldn?t open it with my two hands. Originally they came out because the faucets were leaking. When I called them they came out right away and fixed it. Even then it was tight, but I had not tested it. I had installed a new light fixture in the bathroom and they said that they had an electrician who could help me out. I called the electrician from Jarboe, and he is now working on another bathroom fixture right now. They have a 90-day warranty on whatever work they do. I am very happy with them.

Description of Work: I called for service on a garbage disposal/clogged kitchen sink. Response time was great, as Michael was out in about 1.5 hours the same day. He quickly diagnosed the problem as a combination of grease/seeds in the disposal. He corrected the problem and offered tips for prevention. Plumbers are expensive, but with the $25 Angie's List coupon, price was not bad.

The outside unit was 3 years old, so we only changed the inside unit. It was worth every penny! They arrived ontime, were very friendly, and worked around our curious cat without a problem. The work was completed on time, priced very reasonably, and I will definitely use them again!
