 + 0 moreHere I am 2 weeks later, drain is clear but pipe under sink is leaking (new plumber said Jarboe's should have replace the gaskets when they reconnected the drain pipe). Toilet is no longer running, but still leaking! Bill was $158.00 and they were here 2 HOURS! The techs gave me an estimate on the additional work BEFORE they saw how the plumbing was routed. They couldn't figure out how to access the plumbing behind the wall without my suggestion to remove the medicine cabinet and cut a piece of drywall out of the closet wall DUH!!!!!! Imagine that, it took a WOMAN to figure it out!!!!! Just paid another plumber $112 to get what Jarboe's supposedly fixed 2 weeks ago actually repaired. DO NOT TRUST JARBOE"S TO DO ANYTHING! THEY ARE NOTHING BUT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!!!!!
Description of Work: Had 2 guys show up to fix a leaking toilet and unstop a drain and give estimate on additional work of puttin in a water connect and drain.

 + -1 moreThey called the day of the appointment, saying that the appointment before mine was taking extra time, so they bumped my appointment back another 5 days. At that point, I cancelled and called someone else. A week later, they still called me to see if I wanted to reschedule.

 + -1 moreOur Master Bathroom shower was an old style dual handle faucet that was leaking. I had rebuilt the valve stems myself, but I could not remove the valve seats for replacement. I called Jarboe's to see if they would give me an estimate for a repair/replacement. The rep from Jarboe's arrived on time and was quite friendly and considerate(he put on plastic shoe coverings before entering our home.) He informed me what I pretty much suspected, that the valve assemblies would need to be replaced due to damaged valve seats. He quoted me a price on a new single handle faucet with an oversized cover to hide the dual handle openings and avoid extensive tile work. He quoted me about four hours to do the job and scheduled it for the next day. The plumber (same rep that gave me the quote) arrived on time and the job was completed as quoted. I wish I would have had this work done by Jarboe's ten years ago! The conversion looks perfect and works even better. We are extremely pleased with the service and workmanship.

 + 0 moreI chose Jarboe's because I needed an estimate on both plumbing and electrical. I was told they only had one guy licensed in both and that I would have to wait a few days befoer he was available, I chose to wait the 3 days. Two guys arrive right at the start of the 2 hour window given by the scheduler whihc was appreciated, but neither guy had any electrical experience. So now I have to take more time off work to get an electrical estimate. NOT GOOD! I had the guys go ahead and perform the partial rebuld of the toilet ($113.62) and add a new shut off valve ($45.00) installed which I thought was not bad for 2 hours work! Got a estimate on the water hook-up, drain and drain vent for a washer and dryer install of $1181.00, which sounds high to me, so I will get a second estimate. Guys were nice enough but left the bathroom floor a mess! I have had far better experiences with other companies and will be going elsewhere for future work. So much for an Angie's List recommendation!

If they do not want to come to Louisville for work, they should not advertise there. At least I wasn't sitting around waiting for someone not to show up.

 + 0 moreThe work was done on time and the price was much better than other quotes that we had gotten. They called two days before the original date for having the return vent installed and asked if they could come the following week so that they could help other customers who had they whole systems down. (This was during the current heat wave) We said yes. We felt it was very impressive that a company would take the time to try and make arrangements to help customers in greater need and at the same time meet their obligations to other customers. They came as promised the following week and did our work on time and as promised. What a terrific company!
Description of Work: Jarboe's serviced our air conditioner and added an interior cold air return vent.

 + -1 moreI had forgotten to remove a hose from an outdoor spigot last winter and the line froze and burst the pipe when I tried to use it in the spring. Jarboe's came out and gave me an estimate of $200.00 for a new spigot and $50 labor. I thought the price of the spigot was ridiculous. Also they said to give an estimate costs $40 whether I use them or not, but if I use them that was included in the grand total. He replaced the spigot and even gave me an extra shut off valve in the basement in case something happened without me asking. I thought that was great. I would use them in the future but I would hestitate to ask them for just an estimate as they charge $40 for the estimate. There are plenty of other HVAC/plumbing companies out there who will give me an estimate for free. Price of the spigot is extremely high. They sell them at home improvement stores for $20.

I am not one to normally write reviews but felt that I owed it to them because of the outstanding work that they have performed at my residence over the past couple of months. I found out about them through Angie's List and am sure glad that I did. If you are looking for a company that provides excellent and prompt service at very reasonable prices then Jarboe's are the one's you need to call.
Description of Work: I had a new furnace installed in the fall of '11. I also had interior drains cleaned out and the central a/c unit serviced twice. All times they showed up on-time if not early and provided outstanding service taking great care to explain the work along the process.

Description of Work: I called for a "tune up" on an older model Gas furnace, before the winter set in. Two serviceman appeared promptly. I distinctly remembered the lead service man, his name was Buford. They worked explaining what they were doing, in terms that I could understand. They were HONEST in their findings, explaining that being a 30 year old furnace, I might want to begin watching for sales rather than to wait for a Heating Emergency as the time to impulse buy because I could get a wider selection and better prices that way. They NEVER PUSHED a possible sale on me, just gave me a consumers heads up!

 + -1 moreAC was out, so tried Jarboe's. Really glad they could fit me in the same-day. Was impressed they arrived about the same time they estimated. And they got it working quickly That was all excellent. The tech noted the capacitor was out, replaced it. Asked to clean and charge it, but I was surprised to hear that. Noted it was cleaned/charged three months earlier by another company. Tech insisted it must be cleaned/charged again, for another $200+ else would not warranty the capacitor. The bill noted "capacitor will fail again, no warranty".... agree everything will fail eventually but saw it's a $20 part. May have paid too much so was okay with that risk. I know it's a business, just may get another estimate next time. It was outstanding they were prompt, got it working quickly just seemed a little pricey and an uncomfortable up-sell. In the end, glad the AC is working again!

 + -1 moreWhat they did was a very difficult, multi-step process. They worked very hard to maintain communication with us. They had to bring in an electrician to install a pump and someone to pump the septic tank so they were coordinating with other people. They did a nice job of coordinating all their activities. They took the sewer line under the street where the county then brought the sewer line to make the connection. It was difficult. It took about 3 weeks. They worked well with us, they answered the phone promptly and I asked for someone to call me they called promptly. They really do emphasize communication in an involved process like this.
Description of Work: Jarboes connected our plumbing to our system and closed the septic tank.

 + 0 moreTwo repairmen arrived on time for this job. They asked me questions as they tried different things, and they made every effort to keep my house clean during the process. Cleaning out and replacing the pipe was a messy process, but they contained the debris and cleaned up after themselves. One of the repairmen also noticed that my toilet seat was loose and fixed it without asking. I asked about caulking my tub and he did that for me as well at no charge and with his own product, which he left with me for future use. Since this visit, I consider Jarboe's to be my personal plumbers.
Description of Work: I called Jarboe's to fix a slow draining bath tub. The repairmen snaked the drain from inside the tub and also cleaned out and replaced a section of pipe below the drain.

All of the technicians who were sent have been very responsive and thorough. Last year, I had the air conditioning to go out over a hot holiday weekend, and they came out within a couple of hours calling on a late Saturday afternoon. Talk about great service!! Excellent service from the customer representatives, who triage calls and schedule appointments.

I have only positive things to say about them.Jarboe's was replacing my water heater, removing and replacing the furnace as well as installing central air...all in the same day! Sherry was amazingly helpful with scheduling! As one person finished their part I would get a call, almost instantly, requesting feedback. After the second call, I told her that she need not call again because the techs had been fabulous!
Description of Work: Jarboe's installed central air my home, they also replace my ancient furnace and water heater. In addition, they ran electricity to my detached garage.

 + 1 moreAn air conditioning unit located in the attic of my apartment building had a drain pan which was not working properly and causing a leak. I had called Jarboe's for another issue and asked the technician, Dutch, to look at this while he was there. He assessed the problem and came back the next day to repair it. This involved putting a ladder to the attic access and working up there on a very hot day. He fixed the problem for now which bought me time to get estimates for new units.
Description of Work: The technician cleared the condensate drain and vacuumed out the secondary drain pan on an air conditioning unit.

 + 0 moreAn air conditioning system in one of my apartments was not cooling. I called Jarboe's after researching Angie's List. The technician, Dutch, was excellent. He assessed the problem in this old system. He added refrigerant as a temporary fix. The system immediately started cooling. He also looked at another problem in a different system for a second apartment at no charge. This unit was in the attic and it was an extremely hot day. He spent quite a bit of time getting a ladder, climbing into the attic, and determining what needed to be done. This work was scheduled for the next day. I will write a separate review for that. Dutch kept his cool and was very pleasant throughout this hot task. Jarboe's givesa $25.00 discount for Angie's List members.
