Highland Basement Waterproofing

Highland's Mike Meyer came on time and surveyed the situation; gave a reasonable estimate of cost of repairs, and was competent and professional.

They did fine. They showed up on time and gave me an estimate, and that was the extent of it.

Highly recommend to anyone. They were neat and very clean.

I will use them in the future if I decide to get a sump pump.

I had several good contacts with the business via phone before the work began, and the work crew showed up on time. They got right to work and were very good about explaining to me what was going on. They removed drywall up to 4' from the floor along parts of two walls, jackhammered and dug a trench along the two walls for a total of 26', put down some PVC drain pipe, covered the pipe with gravel, and concreted over the trench. Per Mr. Durham's initial recommendation to me, they removed an old sump and pump located inconveniently in an exterior stairwell and relocated them into the basement corner where they'll be safe from freezing. They affixed a new drain in the stairwell and ran a pipe from the old sump to the new system because the stairwell still collects rainwater. They also drilled a hole thru the house foundation and ran PVC pipe to pump any water from the sump into an exterior downspout. All debris (old drywall, concrete chunks, dirt) was cleaned up and removed to my satisfaction. I did get another estimate for the work from another firm that specializes in basement waterproofing, but their overall rating is lower than Highland's and their estimate was quite a bit higher. The $300 in "waterproofing bucks" that was part of the Angie's List Big Deal just made the price even better!

The guy was nice but the deal was just a very small portion of a bigger job that we are not going to pay yet. We basically paid for a free estimate.

I purchased the Angie's List Big Deal, which came with a free inspection + report. Austin showed up right on time, we talked a little about how the company is family owned / operated, and he was very professional and personable. He spent the time to actually listen to me and discuss my basement leaking problem. After talking through everything, he advised me that the problem was most likely with my chimney cap, and that there wasn't anything that they would be able to help with since they didn't provide masonry services. I thought that he could have recommended some services that would not have helped and would have cost a lot of money. I was very satisfied with the service provided, although I was a little disappointed that I would not be able to use the $300 credit that was part of the Big Deal. I would highly recommend Highland Waterproofing to anyone seeking good advice from a family owned business.

He looked at the washed out spot which had obviously had concrete applied over dirt and told me the problem wasn't waterproofing, the problem was that the foundation was washing out. Told me there was nothing his company could do and gave me a recommendation for a foundation company. What would it have cost me to have somebody come out to look at it and tell me this???? Did I pay $99 for nothing???

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. There was no extra cost. I think it is a good company and I was impressed with their professionalism. The price was fair.

The repair has been working for more than 4 years.

I was given a prompt refund. I was very happy with the interaction, and got some recommendations on how I could address my issue even though they couldn't help.

We were having a water issue and they came out and fixed it no charge.

The date of service was 2003 but I couldn't select that. We have had a dry basement for the last ten years since the waterproofing was completed. I appreciated the attention to detail and effort to keep all the dust from getting into the upper levels of the home.

They repaired a leak in an outside wall where water was coming into the basement. About 2 weeks later after a rain it was still leaking but they came out and found where the water was coming in and repaired it again. It has not leaked again.

Cellar waterproofing. It went well. The work was done just as they described it, and the waterproofing has successfully kept the water out of the cellar.

We purchased an "Angie's List Deal" for this company. They accommodated some distance from their location to our home, and scheduled for a Saturday when we were available at the location. The company representative inspected our basement, wrote a reasonable quote, and took the time to explain what they found, and exactly what services they would perform. The cost of the service was reasonable and includes a $300 discount on future services which we will be scheduling in the spring.

Tim is the person who came put. He was very nice, punctual and professional. Even closed the basement door when it was about to get very loud. He also did the job quicker than first estimated. This company was highly referred to me by Pam Martin, Realtor.

They installed a waterproof membrane on an interior basement wall that had a small leak due to a crack. The membrane directs any water that seeps in to a dry well that they put in the basement floor and then re-cemented over.

Did waterproofing in the basement, including digging a dry trench, putting in plastic sheeting, etc. No sump pump work, just water diversion. | |They were professional and did a good job. A bit expensive given they didn't anything the average waterproofing contractor couldn't handle but came highly recommended. I would probably go with a cheaper provider if I had a simple job in the future but would call these guys for anything serious. | |They were punctual in terms of showing up when they said they did. But getting an appointment for an appraisal was a bit of a wait. I guess that means they are popular!

Highland was on time and completed the job promptly as promised. Not only was the work completed as promised the clean up was better than expected. I would recommend Highland to anyone discussing basement waterproofing needs. Dave Derringer

The company's representative, Austin, was prompt and did a nice job. It was a terrible rainy day when he arrived, and he knelt in the mud to look under my deck for puddling water. There was no pressure to get me to contract work with his company and he told me several things that I could do as the home owner to seal some basement areas and take care of some of the leaking on my own. I have decided to have them come and install a new sump pump and jackhammer into my basement floor for better drainage. They will also install a moisture barrier on a basement wall at that time. They took off $300 of the estimated cost of that procedure which they will do in December due to my schedule. It really could have been scheduled sooner, but they are basing the appointment on what was best for me. Any of their employees with whom I have dealt have been very personable and cooperative.

The representative met me and looked at my basement. I was quoted est. $2,300, AFTER the $300 Angie's List special. The company recommended drilling out concrete and installing a sump pump. I cannot afford this project.

They did the promised inspection, so we got our $50 worth. But they provided no waterproofing services (a $300 value, but instead offered to completely waterproof the basement for ~$6,000, which was out of the question on our budget. My daughter was present for the appointment, since we currently live out of town. She had no complaints.
