Highland Basement Waterproofing

Highlands did not perform any services but did investigate my concerns and gave me solid advice to remedy the problem. Will definitely use them in the future if needed.

Waterproofed basement, did a great job!

To move forward I need to move my stairwell at my cost which I did not want to do.

It was a pleasant experience with the provider giving an honest opinion that I did not have a problem and did not need their service to waterproof the area.

Austin was thorough, both in a walk-around inspection outside the house and after entering the crawl space under the house. He recommended possible improvements we could make to further protect the house from potential water damage. His bottom line, that crawl-space conditions are normal and the sump pump equipment is doing its job, provide peace of mind.

They were great. They came in and moved our drain land from the humidifier and de-humidifier, and air conditioner. They checked and moved it because it drains right into the floor so they moved it and it was draining into the French drain that goes around the house. They were very professional and showed up on time. There's one little problem with some of the concrete settling and they came back right away and fixed that. They did really good job and cleaned everything really nicely too. We spent $120 for the drain land to be moved.

Arrived on time, removed wall paneling and jack hammered trench along wall to facilitate use of sump which they installed. Took approximately a half day to complete job. No mess, dust, put up plastic curtain to prevent any spread of dirt or effects of using jackhammer. Also installed pipe leading from sump pump in basement to yard outside. First class in every way and would definitely recommend them, came with three workers and two trucks, removed all dirt and excess material from job site. Also put pebbles in window well, Mike, their representative, was courteous and easy to deal with when he came over and did my estimate.

I’ve had them twice at two different houses. They were superb! They did excellent work, and did exactly what I wanted done. He was clean and neat, and did not try to pressure me into buying extra services. Also, the price was excellent! I had four other estimates, and he was by far the best price.

Fixed the basement leak, and haven’t had a drop of water since. There have been plenty of opportunities for leaks to happen and it has been dry ever since! I never had another issue with leaks, and I would highly recommend them!

Overall the experience was excellent. Starting with Mike who came to our home, explained everything thoroughly and gave us a great price. Two days later the crew showed up and in about an hour had completed the repair,cleaned up after themselves and left. Two other companies told me I needed to waterproof my entire basement. Mike told us we already had a perimeter drain system and all we needed to do was repair the wall crack. Thank You Highland!!

We were experiencing a musty odor from our finished basement. We had the drywall removed and found a crack in the foundation. Highland was called and came very quickly. They made the repair and removed rotting 2X4s.

They arrived on time. They were well prepared, and clean and nice fellows. They finished the job on schedule.

Overall, I was very unhappy with our experience with Highland Waterproofing. During the completion of the scheduled job: The crew of four workers worked from 9 AM, took a lunch at noon for about an hour, and then worked until approximately 3 pm. I was very surprised that they only physically worked at the house for about 5 hours minus cigarette breaks. On day 2 of the job, the crew showed up again around 9 AM. They finished up pretty quickly at approximately noon. When the workers were finished, the lead worker (who wasn't very talkative - just like the rest of the group) showed me the basement without much explanation. He was able to answer my questions but didn't volunteer much information either. The lead worker explained to me that the warranty would be mailed to be within 2 weeks. My thoughts of the work that had been completed: Upon visual inspection, they workers did an okay job. However, the panels they put up against the wall were uneven and had concrete that had splashed up against the bottom all along the 4 walls (when the workers spread the concrete?). I tried to wipe off the splashes of concrete but I was unsuccessful. About a month and a half later (still hadn't received my warranty in the mail, I must add), our neighborhood experienced a very heavy rainfall. I noticed that along one wall the floor was very damp. I called Highland Waterproofing about the problem. They were very prompt about getting a crew over to the house to fix the problem (they came over two days later). However, this is when Highland Waterproofing really showed how much they care about their customers. After addressing the problem, the workers claimed that the two stairs they had taken up to fix the problem were water damaged and hence would not place them back. However, when I got home and inspected the two "broken" steps - I found nothing wrong with them. In fact, the wood on the two steps were now split (when they were taken up) rather than water damaged. I called Highland Waterproofing about this. It took several phone calls and three weeks time to get the problem fixed. It is important to note that I finally received my warranty in the mail approximately three months of the job completion and several phone calls about the whereabouts of the warranty.

Overall our experience with Highland couldn't have been better! Right on time for the estimate. Mike was very polite and professional and went out of his way to try to find a leak from the outside because it would have been an easier fix. He explained all work to be done thoroughly as well as pricing. His team performed the work in less than a day and were also very professional, experienced, polite, and did a heck of a job. Work performed was top notch and looks great. Checked back with us after the job was done with two follow up calls to make sure we were satisfied. Very impressed with the entire experience. Would highly recommend Highland waterproofing to anyone!

Mike came out to take a look at a small leak we have in the basement. Our appointment was for 11:30am on Saturday. I called and asked if we could move it to noon and he said no problem. He was on time even though I was not. I showed him where the leak was in the basement. He said he didn't really see any problems so we went back outside to take a look at the front porch. He sent me back downstairs to watch for water while he took the water hose and sprayed around on the porch. Once I saw the water trickle in I ran up to tell him. He showed me that the leak was up near the front door on the porch. This was why the leak was very infrequent - the wind had to blow the rain in enough to hit the door and then it would trickle down a hairline crack or gap in the porch. He told me to caulk the edges and corners of where the porch meets the house and that I should be fine. Mike was very friendly and professional and never tried to scare me or try to sell me anything. He found my problem and told me how I could fix it myself for the cost of a tube of caulking. I hope I never have a leak in my basement but if I do, I will definitely call these guys!

They were on time an the work was completed in the time they said it would be. They did a good job of protecting the rest of the basement from the dust and mess. We had a few leaks right after it was completed and they came back out and fixed them and for the last 5 months we haven't had any leaks. It's so nice to finally have a dry basement!

2 guys came out on schedule. They did the work in a very timely manner. When they left it looked as nobody had been there digging up the basement..

It took us five to six weeks after the initial call, probably because of all the rain and ensuing problems in Louisville. If anything was problematic, it was that we made several phone calls during the waiting time to nail down the work time. When it took place, the workers were efficient and clean. It has been over four months now through a record setting amount of rainfall in Louisville, and we have not had one drop of water. The lifetime guarantee gives us further peace of mine. It is a good company that had been recommended by a co-worker and followed up on Angie's list to be sure. Angie's list is always our back-up before hiring anybody.

We were real pleased with them. They were neat and clean. They were very efficient. The price was good for what they did.
