We planted out roots in Louisville, Kentucky over 15 years ago. We diretly procure our stone, make countertops, and install them with no middlement. That is why we are the value leader for the best stone.
This niche combination worked out nicely and that is why we are successful. We directly import from over 37 different countries, bringing in a variety of unique colors and grains from different parts of the world. This allows us to offer several exotic stones that are not easily found. This gives us a wonderful advantage, as we can provide you with a wide selection of truly inspirational colors sent directly from it’s quarry.
We have no middlemen. Our shops are local. You know exactly who is making your granite countertops. Going straight to our customers without the middlemen means a lower price for our customer. Without middlemen we can provide a better product, service, and a quality product.
On the house that we had for sale, the realtor recommended pulling out the old counter tops and putting in granite so we did that. That went so good that we had them put some granite in the new house that we are remodeling. The are very over the top friendly. My wife communicate more with them this time and had the same experience. They got it installed quicker than we thought it would be.

They made precise measurements that fit perfectly. They went over and beyond their duty when it was discovered that when the framer built the wall for the bar top at the framing stage months prior and they didn't level it. Guess they assumed concrete floors were perfectly level. They stayed and even came back to work with contractor to level the wall which BTW was lined with stone that goes on the outside of houses with brick. So leveling wasn't just sanding a lil wood off a corner. The installer could've installed and left cuz it wasn't his fault it wasn't level but he saw the job through to ensure it was supported adequately with the needed amount of support and installed correctly. The only hiccup was I was told one day that they had to cut the sink in so it couldn't be installed that day but would the next. Upon calling the next afternoon to tell them that I was off work and they could come to install at anytime, I was told they couldn't because they hadn't cut the sink in. It frustrated me at the time because it is really hard for me to get off work at a descent time working at a level 1 trauma hospital, but once it was completed, I had forgotten all about that. Only other negative is that you could never get them to answer the phone, return messages, etc., but they were changing things around then so I'm sure that has been resolved, just had to go by to talk to them a couple times when It could've just been a phone call. In the big picture, very minor considering such a great job well done! Their great work ethic made up for a small slip up. Plus I'm sure they were swamped with orders as well. I shopped around and they price granite differently. Not by grade so I got a high grade granite cheap since they had plenty of it. Will definitely buy from them again! Very happy customer! Everyone comments on my kitchen/granite!
Description of Work: Granite America provided the Granite countertops and bar top for my basement that I finished that is one of a kind, and very nice including movie theater. They were great to work with me to find the right style granite and then the perfect slab with perfect cuts to make the swirls connect as the countertop met backsplash continuing to bar top. It flows very nicely!

There were scheduling problems right out of the gate. I set an appointment with Granite America for one of their subcontractors to come over and take my countertops off for the template to be made. We set it two weeks in advance. The sub called the day of the appointment to said he wouldn't be coming since it was Good Friday, which should have been realized when the appointment was made two weeks prior. I set another date with GA for the sub to come out and they said they'd confirm it and didn't, so the next appointment I was at work and he called to say he was in my driveway (I couldn't leave right then to meet him). I was very unhappy at that point and let the GA rep know about it, and to their credit they stepped up and got involved to make sure everything went well from there. Installation (while understandably messy) was good. Do be careful with the sinks they sell though - they spot horribly whenever they get wet, and you have to pay an additional fee to use your own sink.

After a pretty extensive research of Louisville's granite world I decided to pass by Granite America. I already had another quote from two other companies, a large one and a smaller one as point of reference. Sarah Bouhl was my advisor at Granite America and I have to say she is just phenomenal. She is both very knowledgeable in kitchen design and also a great interior designer in general (quite pleasant girl BTW). Her advise with the granite selection was just priceless, fact that was extremely important since Granite America has the largest granite selection you could imagine. She probably showed me 25+ types of granite and they had like 5-20 slabs of each type. After discussing the options I was given an estimate using the drawing I did myself of my counter-tops. The estimate was very similar (if not slightly lower) as the other companies I went before. After deciding to do business with them you have to pay a percentage of the total price upfront (don't remember how much it was, maybe 35%?), so they can do the templates on-site. The templates were done after a contractor removed the old counter top temporarily (1-2 hours). You decide which contractor you want to use, but I stayed their contractor. He charged around 600 bucks in total for for removing countertops during the template process and putting them back, then again removing and old countertops during the final installation process, haul-away the old stuff and doing the pluming (this is standard with other companies I think). Around two weeks after the templates were done I had my granite installed. I now understand why in Granite America the templates are done on-site: the granite just fits perfectly. Is amazing how they can they cut such large pieces with such millimetric precision. The whole process took around 4 weeks, that is also 1 week faster than the other. In summary, the granite selection, professionalism, design advice and final product was certainly above my expectations. Certainly I have not even one criticism of the whole experience and that is a lot to say. The job was simply flawless. I would recommend this company to any of my friends or family without hesitation, and will use them again if I ever decide to change the granite of my bathrooms.

Company was very patient and understanding of our need. Met with them several times to review and finally select our granite. In our case, granite selected was longer than normal, so when it was installed there were fewer seams to contend with. Person who created template was extremely thorough. Cutters, polishers, and installers were all great to work with, and the office staff (Sarah) were superb. Granite America had good selection of granite on hand, was constantly adding new inventory, and prices were very competitive.

It ended up costing me more than they originally had quoted me. The price of the granite went up. I thought they were excellent. They were knowledgeable. The sales folks were on sight. The slabs of granite were on sight and you could pick out what you want and they get fabricated right there on sight. That is so much more customer friendly than most places where you have to go somewhere else to pick it out. You deal with the pricing and pick out the slab of fabrication on the spot. They had a nice selection too. The only issue I had with them was the type of granite that I picked out were out of stock and I had to wait for a shipment to come from India. It was probably beyond their control.

They installed new counter tops in my kitchen, two bathrooms, including new sinks and faucets. They removed the old counter tops and faucets and hauled them off for disposal. I was unaware that this service was not included until I got estimates from other vendors. Granite America was a one shop stop. The other vendors must only do new home construction. They basically left me on my own to find someone to remove the old counter tops and sinks and to replace sinks and faucets when the granite was installed. Working full time and not being in the remodeling trade I just didn't have the time to invest and the project became overwhelming. I went to Granite America on a whim after meeting with three other vendors. They didn't have a big fancy show room but what they did have was the most knowledgeable salespeople I had encountered. My salesperson's name was Sarah and she went above and beyond to understand my project, my time constraints and budget. She helped us find the exact pieces of granite and how they would be placed. I love the way the granite turned out. Granite America met all my expectations and I would highly recommend them. One more thing, they were the least expensive of all the estimates.

Once was after hours and I asked that they please call me back to schedule an appointment. 3 business days later, they still had not called so I called them back during the day. No answer. Left message for them to please call and let me know if they could do the repair or not. That was a day ago and still no return call.

Large selection of affordable granite made it hard to make a selection. They now offer glass and stone tiles for the backsplash which makes it very convenient and it's also priced very well. Julia and Sarah are the best.. easy to work with and wonderful personalities which made the whole experience pain free and a pleasure. Granite America provided a father and son duo to remove the countertops and install the backsplash and plumbing for the sinks. Also contracted them to do additonal work (ran gas line for new stove and lighting mounted under the cabinets). They too were amazing. Will certainly use Granite America and Ron and Wes when updating our master bath and second bath in the near future.

I am very pleased with the finished product. I liked that everything was taken care of in one place rather than having to work with a supplier and a separate installer. I also liked that I was able to select the exact slabs of granite since there is a lot of variety even within a given color. Delivery was later than what they originally told me but when I told them I absolutely needed it by a certain date, they made it happen. Communication was not their strong point. I had to initiate every follow up call and I would say that was my main disappointment.

My husband and I went to Granite America to get an idea of what they had in stock, as we had seen an ad for $39/sq ft granite, including edging. We ended up loving a particular slab which was $45/sq ft, and still do-able for our budget. Deepa was such a great help to us, and she said they would hold our slab until we were ready for it, as we didn't know whether we'd be replacing or painting our cabinets. When we were ready for the counters, Sarah helped us pick a paint color for the cabinets, and we had the template done for the countertops. Will did the templating and he was awesome...such a great attitude and so pleasant to work with! Adam and Urbano from the Lexington shop did the installation, which included a VERY tricky piece. The attention to detail from this duo resulted in an exquisite installation! They have unending patience. Quality is obviously a priority, and we could not have asked for a better experience from the entire Granite America team! We would do it again in a heartbeat! Would recommend to anyone needing a granite countertop.

I would have written a review earlier, but the whole experience was too exhausting to re-live. My husband and I were renovating the kitchen of our 1950's ranch. We spent a considerable amount of time picking out the right color and pattern of granite to achieve a particular look. The office staff, Katie and Sarah, were extremely professional and patient even though we made several trips before making a final decision. That, however, was the end of the good experience with this company. The templating, preparation, and delivery of the product was completed in a reasonable time frame. However, the first two installers lacked both professionalism and training. Both men arrived at our home in an unmarked truck, wearing white "wife beater" tank tops and ball caps tipped to the side. The installation was sloppy to say the least. Two corners of the granite were chipped off, there were two very visible and poorly fabricated seams behind the cooktop, and the main piece of granite was the combination of two slabs that were of unequal thickness. When this was pointed out to the installers, there was an attempt to "grind down" the thicker piece to blend it, but instead they grinded too much and created a large "concave" section. We immediately took pictures of the damage and contacted the company. We worked with Deepa on this issue and she requested we email her the photos which we did. She then scheduled an appointment to assess the situation. During this time we were not even using the kitchen due to the renovation so we were stunned to see two large bright green stains appearing at both seams on the white granite behind the stove since the install. When Deepa arrived, we discussed each damaged piece in detail. Deepa felt the chipped corners could be repaired, but said the "concave" seam created by the workers could not be repaired. We then addressed the poorly fabricated seam behind the cooktop and the bright green stains around the steams. Deepa asked what we had cleaned the granite with, but we had not even wiped down the granite from the original install almost two weeks prior since we were not using the kitchen. She kept saying that it looked like we cleaned it with Windex; we did not. She then said she would have to discuss the source of the stain with her fabricators and get back to us. When Deepa contacted us again she said her fabricators said they did nothing to cause the appearing stain. Deepa also stated that they have done much more complicated jobs than our with the same type of granite and never have had this problem. Neither my husband nor I would accept responsibility for the stains on the seams since the stains also extended to the underside of the granite and we had no access to this area since it was covered by the cooktop. To resolve the problem, Deepa strongly suggested we try to use a "stain lifting" chemical paste to remove the stains. We reluctantly agreed even though the process would take a week. Two different installers arrived to apply the paste. My husband and I thought that was the end of it, but it was not. We were then told by the installers that we would have to mix the paste (which carried a warning to wear a mask), scrape off and discard the old paste, apply the new paste, cover the area with plastic wrap, and tape the sides down each day for seven days. This was not mentioned by Deepa. Since we were not informed that WE would be doing the procedure and doing it daily we did not have the supplies on hand. The installers were gracious enough to give us sufficient quantity of supplies to complete the process. After repeating this procedure daily for 1 week, we unfortunately had to report to Deepa that it did not remove the stain. She then wanted us to try another stain removal process which involved mixing several chemicals (including acetone) and applying it daily. At this point we felt we went above and beyond to correct this problem so we refused. We then agreed that the two granite pieces with the poor fabrication and green stains would be replaced. We then went back to the company and met with Sarah to match the replacement pieces. Sarah expressed concerns to Deepa that the new lots of the white granite were not the same as our remaining piece. We agreed to look at the potential pieces and quickly realized that they would not work. After much deliberation, and some design changes we decided to change the color of the granite to black. Since one additional undamaged piece was also white it needed to be replaced as well. The order was placed, the template was made and the new pieces arrived in a very short amount of time. The installers sent this time were very efficient and professional. Unfortunately, when they went to install the granite, they realized that the fabricators cut both slabs almost an inch too short. When they contacted the office regarding the issue they were told that our stovetop would cover the pieces and the discrepancy would not be seen. This was not acceptable to us since the slabs were short enough that their weight would not be distributed equally along my cabinets' frame potentially causing damage to the cabinet, and also we did not want to be limited to the exact model of stove we currently have in order to "disguise" an error. So, the installers took the slabs back to the company and the next day they were recut, the installers returned and reinstalled the correctly measured slabs. This whole process took almost 6 weeks. During this time we could not use the kitchen, or even install a kitchen sink. Deepa called to ensure our satisfaction with the final product which we again expressed our dissatisfaction with the "concave" seam on the main granite piece but she again stated she could do nothing. Needless to say we were very surprised to receive a bill for the full price of the project. My husband promptly deducted what we felt was a reasonable percentage (30% or $300) on the remaining "concave" slab to compensate for the poor workmanship, our inconvenience, and the several days one or both of us had to take off of work to meet the installers. We then received another bill requesting payment for the balance. When my husband called Deepa to discuss the invoice she said that we needed to pay because they "don't even have a 30% markup" and they already had to "eat the cost" of the granite that was replaced. In the end, we accepted a discount of $150 on a job costing $3000 and called it a loss. I would not recommend this company.

This company did a great job. Had all work completed in about 10 days. That is from getting estimate and finishing installation. I wanted to get it done as soon as possible and they met my expectations over and above. I dealt mainly with Amanda Barich. Went to their store and picked out the actual slab I wanted to use and help put the template pieces on it. They gave me the name of a man Gary Deihl to use for the tear out of the existing counters and tub. He installed a new whirlpool tub for me, did all the plumbing work and was so helpful at the site. He also made sure that everything was done and he was so helpful with all aspects of the job. They did such a professional job I would definitely use them again and would tell anyone what good work they do. They cleaned up very well when all the work was done and even put tarps down from front door to bathroom to protect my floors. Thanks for such good service and a quality product.

Amazing! We have beautiful counter tops in our cherokee area condo. Sara was our representative and she knows her business. She showed us many colors of granite and helped us choice a beautiful and cost effective stone. The back splash is cut to match the counter tops - which really adds to the effect. The price was the best we found in Louisville. We were on a time crunch and the company matched our need for expedited service.

I was very happy with them. I went to them and they had a huge selection of granite that I could pick out. They were a little bit cheaper than another company and they also furnished double sinks which came with the price. They did sell the one I had initially picked out by mistake but they gave me my choice of any other one and reduced the price a little bit, so they worked with me.
