Description of Work: It didn't go well at all. I used Graham's a first time, after consulting Angie's list, to install a water heater. The advice on the water heater was good but I was susicious of the installation - but what do I know? The principal of the company wasn't there. It passed inspection. So being comforted by the fact that I'd gotten this name off Angie's list I prceeded | |I used them a second time to replace a leaking pan in a bathroom shower. I spoke the principal in person and explained that I was planning on redoing the entire bathroon this summer but I need the shower to be operable because I had house guests coming. We agreed on a price of about $640.00 to replace the pan and make the shower operable. During the negotiation he commented that he would have to do something about the three inch high tiled wall under the sliding glass door that would have to be partially removed and replaced. The wall served to contain the water in the shower area below the door. A second crew came but again with a Graham's truck on rather short notice - but I'm flexible so, no problem. I had to leave and trusted them to pull the door shut behind them so the house would be locked; no probem there! The problem was that upon my return the shower door was not back in place but rather a piece of plastic (the new pan,I learned) had been placed in the shower and draped over the remains of the tiled wall. In addition around the inside of the shower on the other three sides the tile had been removed up from the shower floor about 9-10 inches all the way around. Since this arrangement was nowhere near being water proof, I expected someone would call in the next day or two to schedule the job's completion; nothing happened. I called and the principal and at first he assumed responsibility and indicated that he would have to do something about the shower door, saying that it would be something a handyman could do, but as the conversation proceeded he began urging that I should do the calling of the handyman and he could give me some names. I understood the advantage of me calling for puposes of scheduling. In the meantime Graham's sent a bill for $670.00. I called and learned that in their view was they had done everything they were supposed to do and the shower was now my problem. I protested and they offered to take $600.00 for their work and were sure I could get the job finished for another $600.00. I paid them and opted to just forget it; but vowed never to use them again and never rely upon Angie's list again either. Now I understand what the second contractor meant when I proudly announced I was using them (I thought I was dealing with Graham's - and maybe I was) because they were recommended on Angie's list and he replied "Oh Angie's list isn't what they used to be. Now they take money from service providers for advertising specials in your area and won't say anything bad about them. SO AS I SEE IT GRAHAM'S GOT CHARGED MORE THAN THEY EXPECTED FROM THEIR FIRST CONTRACTOR (OR THEY ARE FALLING BEHIND AND NEED MONEY BADLY) AND ANGIE'S LIST CAN'T MAKE MONEY ON THEIR ORIGINAL CORE BUSINESS AND THEREFOR THEY'VE HAD TO GIVE WAY TO DISTANCING THEMSELVES FROM THE ORIGINAL MODEL IN FAVOR OF EITHER MAKING MONEY OR MAKING MORE MONEY. IN ANY EVENT I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR ANY OF IT. I'D JUST AS SOON NOT HEAR FROM EITHER OF YOU AGAIN EVER.

Description of Work: I called that morning he was there by midafternoon, he took care of the problem quickly and provided information of does and don't to prevent further problems in the future

Description of Work: Slow upstairs sink- tried to snake but didn't work. Had to take out an adjoining wall to get to pipe. Very old pipe filled with rust was the problem. Removed section and replaced withj PVC pipe. Replaced drywall. Did a great job for a good price. Will use again !!!
