Over the past month I have talked to their representative on the phone, left an email, and also on contacted them via web chat on their website. Each time I was told someone would call me. To date no one has! Life is good when you have so much business you don't need to follow up!

Satisfied with all aspects of job

Mr. Fitzsimmons gave us an estimate and while it wasn't the lowest we received, we liked what he said, the product, their reviews, and the fact that his company is local. We were very pleased with the installation. When installed, the motor didn't work (which they said rarely happens). They ordered a new motor and installed it within a week and on a Saturday. We didn't rate price because it's a lot of money and it's hard to say it was excellent. It did seem like a fair price for the product and installation and I imagine the enjoyment we get from the awning will make it worth the price! We have already enjoyed it immensely.

Great service - wonderful product. We are hiring them to put awnings on the rest of the house.

Excellent work. Mr. Fitzsimmons was very professional and offered great advice on what we should do. Awnings are absolutely great. We are ordering more for the rest of the house. Quality awnings are an investment and we had some large windows to cover on two sections of the house but we are more than pleased with Fitzsimmons.

Meeting with contractor went well. I hope installation goes as well.

No one ever contacted me

The fit and installation is great. The customization of the frame for the space is fantastic and exceeded expectations. Extremely happy. Additionally I thought the price was very reasonable.

The owner, John Fitzsimmons gave us advice and the estimate. Very professional and helpful. Installation went smoothly and installation crew was professional. The snaps to hold the bottom of the shades in place when lowered in windy conditions proved too difficult for us to manipulate. John came up with an alternative.

The day of service the workers came on time. One drilled holes in the rafters under the roof (solid beams of the house) and attached the hardware for the awning pole. I was not watching the entire time but somehow they set up the frame and attached the fabric roller above the frame. Lastly, the roller handle was attached and the fabric awning was rolled in and out to ensure the awning worked properly. They both diligently ensured all work was timely and professional. They cleaned up all debris when finished and stated I would receive my bill in the mail. I would like to add that this is a family company that has been in business for a long time. This work order was completely wonderful from my initial visit with the owner 'John' all the way through to the final bill. I just love my awning and the matching fabric complements my home beautifully. Visitors and contractors have asked me for the name of the company and I make sure and tell them 'FITZSIMMONS Awnings'. I have had many contractors inside and outside of my home. Every business should receive recognition for outstanding work as well as shoddy work and work ethics. To me, the price is excellent due to the fact this is a long time family company, the work is professional, the fabric and frame has a 10 year warranty in conjunction with the fabric quality and vast variety of colors to match the home :). We called Fitzsimmons because they were so highly rated on Angie's List. We were initially considering a retractable awning, but told John when he came out that we were open to all suggestions. He suggested a stationary awning for our situation. He showed us fabrics and made suggestions based on what we had in mind. In the end, we went with the stationary awning with black fabric. John told us it could be up six weeks before installation. We had, after all, waited until his busiest time of the year to call him. We called in the 5th week to get an update and he said it would be Thursday of the following week. And Thursday it was! His crew was very professional and had the awning in place in less than 2 hours. We love it! It looks very nice and although we were concerned about black being hot, it really isn't. If it radiates heat, we can't tell it. This past weekend, we had an all-day rain. We were able to sit on our deck, drink wine, and watch the rain in comfort for 2 hours. Our deck was virtually unusable most of the time because the sun beat down on it for most of the day. The awning has made it a great space to spend time. The fabric has a 10 year prorated warranty. John told us the cost of replacement would be about 1/2 of the original job, but to keep in mind that is many years down the road. They did a very nice job and I would recommend them. This Angie's List stuff works!

The old awning on our roof deck was disintegrating. We called Fitzsimmons on the basis of good reviews on Angie's List. They came out promptly and carried out a detailed assessment and gave clear and helpful information and guidance about our options. When we chose a color combination they thought we might regret, they diplomatically pointed us in the direction of a better color scheme! They completed the work in less than the projected time and did an excellent job.

They were very nice, quick and more affordable than the car dealer.

There was some confusion on the measurements but by the time he left I was very happy with the small adjustment made to make the awning fit. I have had no problems with the product or how it was installed

We have a pergola with well-established wisteria that reaches to the rooftop. The vines are thick and some twist around to areas beneath the structure. We wanted to provide a cover from the elements - rain, snow etc but did not want to enclose it with screening or walls. Maintaining the vines and growth was a priority concern. It was a complex and complicated request. Jon Buckner of Fitzsimmons Awning consulted with us and had an immediate grasp of the task and what would be required. He proposed the manufacture of large two-layer awning panels with vinyl on one side and Sunbrella fabric on the other. The vinyl side would be mounted to the wood beams to provide a rain-proof barrier, and the fabric side would be visible. Some of the panel shapes would have to be shaped to fit around some thick vines. Jon spent a lot of time collecting exact measurements. Jon and two others brought the panels this past week and mounted them to the pergola. If something didn't look right to them, they worked on it until it was perfect. The panel cut-outs to accommodate the vines were exact and everything fit just as planned. We now have an outdoor room in which we can relax and entertain even when it rains. We are very very happy with the result!! Jon and the Fitzsimmons crew proved to be professional, reliable, conscientious, exacting, creative and resourceful in handling any construction issues. They were neat and cleaned up thoroughly after the job was finished. We highly recommend Fitzsimmons Awning. A word of advice to anyone planning to erect a pergola with vine growth on top: Think about rain protection BEFORE you build it!

This was the second awning that Fitzsimmons has made for us. We did not hesitate to call them for this most recent awning. The two awnings are very close together and no one would know which awning was installed first. The fabric durability is exceptional. John is very professional. He remembered our first install and how long it had been. Call them...you will not be disappointed!

The quote was too high. My experience with them was okay. They arrived when they said they would. He gave us our quote, we had the meeting and we turned it down because it was too high.

Fitzsimmons Awnings came when they said they would and they gave a professional estimate. It’s not that we didn’t use them because we didn’t like them we just ran out of money and just haven’t done the job yet and probably won’t for the next few months.

My experience with them was great. They were very easy to work with. They had helped us on fixing our spot for awning.

They were excellent. They educated me on what needed to be done and the different materials that were going to be used. They explained things simply. They were punctual in both coming out to provide an estimate and doing the work. They provided good quality.

I was very comfortable working with John Fitzsimmons. He came out and measured the area, looked at the specific installation needs and gave me good information to help with my fabric selection. He stood by his quote and the product is high quality. The Fitzsimmon's installation crew arrived, without warning, very close to sundown and I was concerned that the low light might result in a poor installation. The crew pointed their truck headlights toward the door and got to work. The install was great. Days of rain followed and the awning didn't leak at all. It looks great and I am very happy with it. I would hire Fitzsimmons again in a second.

Awesome experience! The owner, John, was incredibly helpful during the entire process. Kept in touch with me often and really made the project (which was NO easy task) a priority. He took a vague design and ran with it, resulting in a very nice product. These guys do excellent work with aluminum, take pride in their work, and stand behind it. I asked the company to produce something they really didn't do everyday but they did an excellent job at a fair price. Would absolutely recommend their business for awning work or aluminum fabrication. "Can do" guys.

The company was very easy to do business with and their prices are reasonable.

They did what others said couldn't be down as other as had predicted that I needed to replace the whole bottom section.

This is my first time buying an awning and I did not consider it a major decision because I just wanted something to deflect rain and debris from an area that had interior water damage recently repaired. It was not on the sunny side and could not be seen from the street. I contacted several companies and got estimates, all higher than I expected. I had emailed Fitzsimmons and did not get a reply. I thought it was because they were listed as a glass and mirror company. I called, just out of curiosity, and was told that yes, they did sell awnings and the president, John would return my call. When he did, I wanted to save him a trip and asked about a ball park figure for the dimensions. It was the same as the other estimates - all around $500. I said I would go with my first company, which was $475. He asked if he could do it for $400, would I let him come and measure. Sure - no risk. He seemed determined to get my business and I signed a contract for a little over $400. John even enlarged the 8 feet with a few inches on each side for more protection. He said someone would contact me in 2 weeks to install it. Two weeks went by, then 3, and I called on a Monday to see if I was on the schedule. I was told it would be the end of the week. The next day (!) a man came to install - there was no call beforehand. It took about 20 minutes. My B rating is because of the lack of followup. I'm satisfied with the result but have to say I don't feel like that welded aluminum frame and the fabric stretched over it is $400 worth - even more from other companies, although their description and pictures were the same. There must be a great markup on awnings. This is not a criticism of Fitzsimmons, just awnings in general.
