I called and left a message, but never received a call back

I found them on Angie's List and used them because they mentioned that they did some historical work. My house is about 150 years old so I wanted to make sure I had somebody that was experienced with historic properties. The service was fine. They had to leave at one point because they were waiting for the drywall to be put up and I was a little irritated because when he came back for the second part the owner of the company insisted this was a new service call so he charged me for a new service call and I felt it was still the same job. He charged me his initial service fee again like it was a new job. I talked with the owner of the company and he did not quite understand my agitation with that. But, it was okay; I was not thrilled. I liked the service guy fine but I did not really care for the owner of the company. I thought the service guy did a decent job.

It was great. I called, they come out the same day and fixed the problem.

I am still waiting to get an inspection from them, it has been about a month and I haven't heard back from them. When they showed up they were not dressed professionally, they were wearing T-Shirts. However, the work they provided was excellent.

First, they were punctual. Very friendly and easy to work with. Expedited the work and cleaned up afterward. One year later, I've had no problems with the work done. I have another project at my mother's house that I will be calling them about this summer.

We received an urgent call from our renters on Christmas day stating that the electricity went out. They also reported that the Breaker box was sizzling and sparking. We called Dr. Electric and the phone was answered immediately. He made a trip out to the house that very same day- despite it being a holiday. The problem ended up being a very large job (with the entire electrical panel having to be replaced), however He replaced it at a very fair price and within 24 hours. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Electric and will certainly keep them on our list of service providers for the future!

I called Dr. Electric hoping to have someone come out within a week. I needed a ceiling fan and lighted medicine cabinet installed in the master bedroom as well as a new outlet for a wall mounted TV. They were able to come out the next day and I was thrilled. He showed up on time and ready to work. I had an idea of what the installation should cost. He gave me an estimate before starting. The final bill was exactly what he thought and what I had calculated. The electrician was pleasant, focused and friendly. We've used their services previously and were just as happy. I will definitely use them again!

There were some problems because of the location of the power meter which caused the installation to be snug in the basement corner against another wall. This required the drywall and support framing to be removed in my finished basement. I know this must have made a mess, but all was cleaned up when I returned home and all the breakers were labeled. I wondered why some of the breakers were ganged, but all was explained and I appreciate he followed code to the letter.

Received a call letting me know he was on the way the day of the appointment. Job was completed in time estimated - Steve was courteous and efficient. Will call again for next job.

I called around to several of the A rated electricians on Angies list and DR. Electric was extremely competitve and had availability right away. I decided to go with another electrician due to a personal reference, however, DR. Electic was my second choice and I may use his services in the future.

It worked out fine. I'm happy with what he did. He was reasonable and worked on my schedule.

They were a no show

Responded quickly to my call, gave me an estimate over the phone, arrived on time and cleaned up the mess. They even drove out of their normal service area. The light looks good.

This experience was what I expected it to be.

My home was built in the mid 1950s, and over a period of a few months, we noticed lights flickering in certain areas of the house. Then all the lights on one circuit cut out, no light at all in the bedroom, closets, and front porch. At the time, my Mother was hospitalized for a fall and money was tight. I called Dr. Electric to get a service call quote and they came the same day. To our surprise, the fuse panel had some burn damage that we were unaware of, which required a full panel replacement and rewiring to bring the house up to code. Our hearts sank, knowing we couldn't afford it ...until the owner offered to let us pay half down and half the following month, which was such a relief. The electrician came on time and worked two full days, maybe three - but they were full days. He was very particular with his work, polite and well mannered. You could tell he knew what he was doing. One thing we liked was how he explained the work timeline and was careful how he exited and entered our home, knowing we had pets (very nosy cats). I doubt many businesses in town would work with first-time customers like Dr. Electric did with us. We sure appreciate it and plan to use them again in the very near future.

He came and did a poor job. The bill was a lot more than I thought it was going to be. Apparently, the reason for the unforeseen increase in price was that he had to make several trips to his supply house. He said that he had to go to the supply house 6 times. I told him that he should've known the job before he did it. He then said that he would give me a discount if I gave him a good rating on Angie's List.

My husband call and told them that he had a basement that we were finishing. We wanted to get an estimate for electrical work. He wanted lights plugs and an sub panel install in the basement. That we wanted to have a permit and have it inspected. He gave him the run around.He want us to call back when we were ready, but we were ready for an est. Didn't seem to be interested.

Service person was great and did a great job

Went very well. No dos and don'ts involved.

The technician was knowledgable and efficient. The problem was resolved within 20 minutes.

I had never used DR. Electric before getting their information from Angie's list. They scheduled me right away and were on time when they arrived. Their electrician was pleasant and knowledgeable. He took time to explain the situation to me and what he was going to do, and what he did. He was efficient and very helpful. I would certainly use them again.

What can I say Dr. Electric solved my problem and made great recommendations. Like many I tried to do something on the cheep the first time. I recently purchased an Electric Car and installed a 240 charger on my own. One night when the car was charging then entire house went black. I managed not to only crack a main fuse but had a very unsafe home. Dr. Electric came out the next day - but offered same day service and reviewed my situation. He showed me with a multimeter exactly how many amps I was pulling, and let me play with different settings to prove that my existing 1960 panel was simply not rated for this type of application if I was going to run other power hungry devices. The job took a rather long time around 6 hours but the rate never did change - despite the several problems related to code changes. The tech was also rather understanding that I did not want to wait the entire time, and let me go take care of stuff and simply called me when he needed back into the home. However, he was trusting enough that I would have left the door unlocked for him. I have already recommended Dr. Electric to a friend who needed a socket fixed and expect him to receive the same great service. The only thing I disliked about this company - is unless I purchase a new home, I doubt I will ever see them again wish i could find more companies that did things the right way the first time. - Jason

I decided to go w/ Dr. Electric because of all the raving reviews. My experience was not the greatest, and after all that he still suggested maybe I can write up a good review on Angie's List. I have never actually been asked to write a review before, especially when I was not completely satisfied. I said I could not write a good review but that I will refrain from writing any review. However, this morning he called me and told me it's probably better we don't work together again. The nerve of that. So now I'm writing my review. You all can decide whether I'm being unreasonable or not. In my opinion, all of the work they did should have been do-able in 2 hours. They told me up front that they charge by the hour in the range of $115 the first hour and $80/hr thereafter (with the current discount). They estimated up front, the time and materials. First he said it would take him roughly 3-4 hours. Then when I agreed to that, he said actually it would be more like 4-5 hours. Keep in mind, this is with him adding lighting to the front porch, which he never did because he did not seem to have a good solution for how to do this. When he was done, he said he had worked for 4.5 hours (we met at 9:45AM, and the first half hour was just showing him all that needed to be done and getting a job estimate). He left at 2PM (last 15 minutes, he was just chatting with me and the handyman), so really it was 3 hours and 45 minutes that he was at the job. When he told me the total and it sunk in how much I had paid just to have items #2-6 done, I was a bit upset and called him to complain. He kept saying how he did not charge me for the HOUR it took him to drive to the store to pick up a light fixture for me (Previously, on the phone, he had assured me they had plenty of light fixtures on the truck with them). And he agreed to knock down an hour so that I would only be paying for 3 hours. He said, since I knocked off an hour can you write a good review and I said no. This morning he calls to say we should not work together any more. Got that right.
