Disappointed in Cooks Locksmith Services… I got a new car key and the shell they gave me didn’t even match my car. The plastic broke in less than a month. I went back to get a new one and was told the product was bad and the plastic was cheap so they weren’t surprised it broke… wow. After waiting for an hour for them to cut a key that would actually work, I was getting pretty aggravated. They took off my glove box cover and didn’t put it all the way back on until we asked another guy to. At the end of all this, I had to pay for my new key - the same one they admitted had broken because of its crappy quality.

Very quick response & repair of our house door lock. Very satisfied and will recommend and use again whenever this type of need arises.

I went in to the service room with pictures to explain my needs. They were very helpful in finding cost-effective solutions that met my functional and aesthetic needs. I was able to get an appointment the next day. Work was performed quickly with high quality.

Just moved here. Needed a deadbolt on front door, striker plate on new door and all locks re-keyed. Tony was a great guy; friendly, helpful and professional. He advised me on what I didn't need....saved me money! Very personalized service.

I spent about $160. I thought they did a good job. They arrived on time and the work was professional. The locks all work but the one on the front door is very tight. I thought it would be a bit easier to open that what it is. It works but it's got a close seal when locked.

Cooks came out promptly and on time, to replace the front and back door locks for our house. The service was outstanding. He was able to fix an existing door knob and lock that I thought we would have to replace. He also gave me a referral for replacing our front door threshold and let me know about some poison ivy that was growing in our front landscape! Overall, he went above and beyond! We will definitely use Cooks again for any locksmith needs. Thank you!

Changed all locks in new home about 8 doors

Before contacting Cook's Locksmith Services, we had been doing business with a competitor. Professionals also, but what Cook's brought to us was a professional locksmith, Mr. John Lynch, with 27 yrs of experience and a world of knowledge in the lock industry. We were secure that what Mr. Lynch explained to us was the complete truth about the security of our home. After our initial visit, we have scheduled an appointment to have more extensive lock work performed. In summary, from the time our call was answered by the employees at Cook's, and our appointment was set, until Mr. Lynch left our home, dealing with Cook's Locksmith Services was a very pleasant experience.

I called Cooks Locksmith and spoke with Tony. He was very helpful and asked questions regarding what I needed done and what I expected. Tony gave me a quote and it seemed very reasonable. Expecting it would be the following week before the work could get scheduled, I was very happy to be told they could send a technician out the following day. The technician contacted my tenant and arrived on time to perform the work as agreed upon. That same day after the work was completed Tony called me to let me know they had completed the work and had left a key with my tenant. He offered to mail me my copies of the key saving me a trip to their office. What I liked was I called Cooks and they took care of everything!! Fantastic Service and great convenience of getting it done with a single call...Thanks Cooks Locksmith!

They have done a lot of other more serious work previously. I consider them to be the best locksmith in the city. Their keys always work perfectly. Their price is fine and their quality is excellent.

Arrived as promised. Was efficient and did exactly what I asked. It works great and looks great!!

He was very punctual and professional. He quickly fixed both doors, then made new keys from his truck equipment. It was a quick process and fairly priced as I had an Angie's list coupon.

Went to Cook's Locksmith to get a set of door handle locks re-keyed. Couldn't get the door handles keyed alike from manufacture. Cook's was fast and the locks and keys work great.

I call the company on the 8 Feb, 2013, to schedule an appointment. The person on the phone(Tony) took all my information and scheduled me to have this done on the next day 9Feb at 9:30am for the amount of $75.00. I thought I was all set until Saturday, 9 Feb came and so did the time for my service to be done. I waited for 30 minutes and no one came. I called at 10:00am thinking maybe he was lost or something. I got the same person on the phone (Tony) and ask what the problem was and why did no one show up. He said we have your information but no appointment time, I guess I didn't write that down so we gave that appointment to someone else. His next thing he said was well we are open until 1:00p today. By this time I was furious and said just let me speak to your boss. To make matters worse the boss was no more concern then the forgetful tech. I ask him why would think I would give you all the information and not expect services to be done and the time. I ask him what happen and all he said was Tony didn't write it down and said oh well. I told him what was I suppose to do because I expected this to be done at that time at that price. I told him that he should come and do the job that he promised and it won't be for the price he quoted. His nasty remark was I guess you better get another company. He also said that's life. I would not recommend this pitiful company to anyone.

They came the day I was burglarized which went a long way toward peace of mind. Door fittings were adjusted without cost.

John was great! Not only did he do a neat job, but he also gave me advice about my home's security and locksets. I was really impressed that he could provide & install 2 kwikset deadbolts for $17 each. They cost more than that at Lowes and Home Depot. I had selected Cook's based on Angie List reviews and I am very pleased & highly recommend them.

They did a good job. It was a lot of money but we called one other place and they couldn't beat their price. We would use them again.

I called this company a week ago to schedule an appointment since I live out of town. I was told that they did not make appointments so I should call them on the day that I wanted the services performed. So I called at 1:30 pm yesterday and was told that they were too busy and it would be "tomorrow" before they could come. I asked "what time tomorrow"? They said "before noon". I waited all morning for them to arrive, and at 11:55 I called them. I was told "well, they're running behind. At this point, I decided that I would just find someone else to do the work. When I told them that I was a member of "Angie's List" and that I would be giving them a negative rating, they turned around and told me that someone would be there "within the hour". I agreed not to cancel if they could be there in an hour. A technician called me back within 5 minutes and said that he would be arriving within 15 minutes. He arrived and did a quick and efficient job. I do not blame the tech at all, but its a shame that I had to bring "Angies List" into it before the company was willing to do their job appropriately.

They come and do their job, and they do it well. I don't know what other locksmiths cost since they are the only ones that I have ever used.

I have been using them for 20 years and they are the best locksmith service by far in the Louisville area. They are outstanding in every possible way; they are priced correctly and do excellent work. They always provide good service and get 5 stars for everything. I will use them again in the future.

The technician arrived a little later than the appointment time, but finished the job quickly. After he was finished, he even walked around the house with us, pointing out possible security issues (without trying to sell any additional services).

I was very happy with the workmanship. The locks worked much better after replacement than they had before (much smoother operation).
