It went great.
Description of Work: Linda came to the house and made the design. She gave me much more than the other designer who came and advised that she could not do much with the space. She gave me a great design utilizing as much of the space as possible. The installer Jerry, came in and installed in a few hours and was very neat and clean about it. He did not even mess up my newly painted walls. They did a great job and I would definitely use them again.

Very mediocre work for the money spent. For this kind of money I would think the material and install would have been a much higher grade. Disappointed to say the least.

The experience with Dianna VanMeter and Closet Factory exceeded my expectations. I vetted all the closet providers in the local area and ultimately chose closet factory. Dianna was so great throughout this process. She was patient with my husband and I throughout, supportive with great ideas when we needed them, professional, and made the project fun! The deciding factors for our choice included: 1. We felt the most comfortable with Dianna, not only as a person, but from a design consultant perspective. She listened to what we wanted closely and didn't try to persuade us away from things that we didn't need. We found her ideas, when we were stuck, to be very valuable. It was obvious her suggestions were thoughtful in ways that made sense to keep the flow of our home consistent throughout. 2. The closet factory manufacturing process was local and on site here in louisville. We valued the small touches that this setup allowed for. For example, we preferred not to have several shelf holes displayed in our closet system. 3. The entire staff at closet factory were professional and responsive. We felt very comfortable at every stage of the process that we were dealing with a group of people that took pride in the service and work they provided. The closet/dressing room turned out better than I had imagined, and the project finished smoothly and on time.

My fiancé and I met with Dianna at Closet Factory, who made our dreams come true! After moving into a two bedroom, two bath condo, we knew that our space was limited. We needed to creating a home office, while maintaining a comfortable bed for guests. Dianna was truly the brains behind the creation. She even set up communication between us and another person in our building that just built a Murphy Bed from Closet Factory as well. It was great to see the product before purchasing, especially in a unit identical to ours. After our free consultation, she helped us pick colors, materials, and helped us configure a desk for our home office that matches perfectly. Both of us are in the real estate business, so resale is always in the back of our minds. Dianna took the time to talk with us about what options would be best for that, when the time comes. It took two days for Closet Factory to instal our wall bed and desk, and they left the place spotless! We couldn't be happier with using Closet Factory! We are now saving up to do our master closet!

We worked with Dianna and she was great! She came in and understood what we were looking for and offered a great design. She tweaked things as we requested. She was willing to meet with us at the showroom on a weekend and was able to our closet in quickly to meet our timeline. It has been 6 months and we still love the work that was done. We would highly recommend the Closet Factory to others.

Description of Work: I contracted with the Closet Factory to build out my master bedroom closet. Their designer was professional and prompt. The installer was also professional, cleaned everything prior to leaving and performed the work within the specified timeframe. I am absolutely in love with my closet and would recommend them highly to everyone.

I absolutely love love love my closets....Dianna Vanmeter was the designer and I don't know how she figures out what you need, but that is what she does...The hardest thing about it is going through "your stuff" and purging and pitching...She even gave me great tips in that area and got me started with racks...The company came in and were very quick and neat once I got the closets ready for them...At first I didn't even want to use them they were so beautiful....I was only going to do 2, but I am so thrilled I did all 3....The ONLY downside is that if I move I will have to have CLOSET FACTORY do every house I live it.......The difference is amazing ....Not when I look at houses (I am a REALTOR) I think WOW you really could use closet factory......I will recommend them anytime....

Description of Work: I had three small closets that needed updating. After I had the closets painted the closet factory came in and designed appropriately what I needed to make my small spaces become so much more practical for my needs. They were on time, did the work and cleaned up after. I have never been so pleased with the efforts of a company. They are friendly, courteous, prompt and they have a quality product. I would highly recommend the Closet Factory to anybody who needs help with closets and storage space. I wish I had more work for them to do!!!!!

This experience from start to finish was amazing. I have used Closet Factory three times now (unheard of when you are as picky as I am!) and can't wait to use them again!
Description of Work: Over the past several years, I have had the pleasure of working with Dianna and the Closet Factory team on many occasions. When we purchased our home, it was in need of multiple updates, and over the course of two years we basically gutted it and started from scratch. I am the definition of a perfectionist, and typically find something to gripe about with any contractor that does work for me. Not so with the Closet Factory! Those who know me well, know just how picky I am, and that if I recommend somebody they have passed a pretty significant test! When I started exploring contractors to design and build my closet, I brought in all the suppliers in the area. While I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted, the designers from the other companies tried to force their designs on me. They were totally in for the highest amount of product they could push from the onset. Dianna, however, took a much different approach. She encouraged us to "phase in" the project (keep in mind our closet was 14' x 16'). She wisely advised that if we did everything in phase one that we may end up with parts we didn't use, and long for pieces that we hadn't added. This approach was spot on. For the first phase we did the basic perimeter install, and lived with it for three months. During that time, we learned what we still needed, and then phase two added a beautiful island and additional pieces. Later on, Dianna designed a beautiful and functional entertainment center for our bedroom. We also had a guest room closet built out - and again, the design was perfect. Now, let me comment a bit on installation. I expected with an install the size of our first closet to have significant cleanup on their departure. Not so! Everything was spotless, completely wiped down, and vacuumed. The installers could not have been more professional, trustworthy and timely! This is the one contractor that I have NO complaints about - and am always dreaming up the next project to have them work on.

I had a horrible experience with Closet Factory. I met with their designer to discuss what I wanted but instead she decided to take creative license and do what she wanted. The closet was not what I wanted and took far too long to install and finish. This is NOT a well-run, professional company and I would not use them again under any circumstances. After spending a lot of money on this project, I am very disappointed with how it turned out.

Dear Angie’s List member, This is Member’s second review of Closet Factory. Her first was removed by the management of Angie’s List after Closet Factory provided documentation proving the first review contained inaccuracies and misstatements of fact. Because this new post has been greatly consolidated and is so general in nature, making it difficult to refute outright, we’d like to provide the following account of our business dealings with Member and her husband, so that you may make your own evaluation. In the summer of 2012, Member contacted Closet Factory to discuss three projects for the new home that she and her husband were building. Those projects were: 1) a master closet for husband, 2) a master closet/dressing room for Member, and 3) master bath cabinets and trim. On August 1, Member contracted with Closet Factory to build husband’s closet at a cost of $5,353.00. We began the installation on September 10. Two days into the project Member emailed to say: “Just saw the closet and we LOVE it! Everything looks fabulous, very well done! Husband is a happy boy!” When the installation was finished, husband asked for two changes. On Sept. 17, he requested that we change the toe stops on his shoe shelves from Lucite, which Member had approved in the contract, to the same material as the shelves. He also asked that cabinet doors be changed from a profile and finish approved by Member to a different style. He gave us a deadline of October 1 to make these changes. These changes were made and as the doors were switched out on Saturday, Sept. 29, husband indicated to our installer that he was pleased with the final product. We did not charge for either change. Husband later requested some additional items, which were also provided. On Oct. 1, Member paid the balance due and the project was finished by their deadline. While the above was taking place, Member was engaged in discussions with our designer about her other two projects. Ultimately, Closet Factory determined that what Member wanted would be better produced by a company, or companies, with a different set of capabilities. Our designer suggested she speak with a company in Lexington, KY. Member did so, and contracted directly with them to build out her master closet/dressing room and her master bathroom. Closet Factory has never used the Lexington firm as a subcontractor or in any other capacity, nor have they used us. After having had no communication with Member or husband for two months, Closet Factory was copied on a Dec. 4 email to our designer in which Member detailed a list of concerns about her dressing room and bathroom. We gleaned from the tone of the message that Member was frustrated with the Lexington firm and felt that they were being unresponsive to her requests for additional work. In her message, she stated that she would now use available “public forums established by known consumer advocates to notify others of our displeasure….” There was no reference to any work left undone in husband’s closet (the project Closet Factory had done). Nor was there any reference to any dissatisfaction with husband's closet. At that time we were unclear as to why we were copied on this message. We attempted several times that week to call Member. She did not answer or return our calls. We wrote an email on Dec. 10 requesting a meeting with her and her husband to review our work and determine if there were outstanding issues with our work to be addressed. She did not respond. On Dec. 13, we exchanged two emails with husband. In the first message, he stated that Member had copied us on the Dec. 4 email “as a courtesy as we had presumed that your subcontractors had been keeping you in the loop during these conversations as you are ultimately responsible for their actions.” After we explained that the Lexington company was not our subcontractor, and that Closet Factory had had no involvement in the construction of his wife’s closet or the bath, he again stated his belief that a contractor/subcontractor relationship existed and that Closet Factory was ultimately responsible for the outcomes of all three projects. The owner of the Lexington company, with whom Member signed a contract, has provided me with a letter in which he takes responsibility for the cabinetry in Member's closet and bathroom. He also gave me a copy of their contract with Member. These are the documentation which persuaded Angie’s List to remove her original review. Member is unhappy with the outcome of her closet and bath, and that’s unfortunate. But Closet Factory had no involvement in those projects. And neither husband nor Member has indicated that they have any dissatisfaction with husband's finished closet. We can only hope that after reading this, you’ll take a moment and look at all the reviews submitted by other Angie’s List members. Without exception, those clients have given us high marks across the board for quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. For that we are extremely grateful. They did great. Their service was excellent. I thought on some of the bids they were a little high. The girl Diane is a true professional. She knew her stuff and did a beautiful job. The garage quote was way off the chart, but she did a great job in my home.

From my initial design in home consut to final install, things went quickly, effeciently and hassle free. No stress with this project. It was easy to work with the office, designer and instaler.This company really listens to your requests and concerns and works very hard to provide you with exactly what you want!!
Description of Work: I have a small home office that needed organization so I could use it most efectively. My design consultant listend to all my concerns and requests and came up with a wonderful design of various arraystorage cabinets, book shelves and file drawers that have given me a very clean look in my office as well as the storage space I required. The instalation was a breeze and the clean up, though, very little left an imaculate space that I am enjoying every day. Everyone I dealt with at this company was friendly, courteous and professional. I highly recommend them and plan to use this company in the future to help with some kitchen stiorage I am planning. This is a local company with materials made here in KY which is a plus for buy American. I give them an A+ rating

From start to finish it was just great working with these folks. Dianna was the designer. I had talked to other companies and was not happy with what they came up with. She listened to what I really needed and came up with a design and advice (this was invaluable, since I've never done a closet). I then took her design and advice and fine tuned it. I got exactly the design that I needed thanks to her. She patiently worked with me on options, as I was trying to keep the price within a range. She always had good ideas and knew what the housing market dictates were as per closets in our neighborhood. She showed me the workshop where all the cutting/prep happens - it was thoroughly clean and organized. Obviously these people care about what they do from the first to the last. The installation took 2 days and Tim was great. At one point, we both looked a small piece of the crown molding which didn't look exactly right. Tim asked my opinion, but then said it really needed to be fixed because it would drive him crazy. I appreciated that he was as meticulous as I am when I do projects. The installation was painless (for me anyway). It was very professionally done and he cleaned up every day. The closet came out fantastic. I would definitely recommend these folks to anyone.
