I would definitely use Chappell again--although I hope this is our last move! When I called the first time, they quoted a rate of $93/hour for two men and a truck. I told them approximately how many boxes I had, and they suggested sending four men and two trucks instead, which would run $128/hour, which is clearly a better deal and which I opted for. They told me up front that an extra hour would be added to allow for travel and fueling time. We ended up paying for 7.5 hours, a bit less than I expected. (By the way, they didn't charge extra to move our piano as some companies do.) I originally scheduled the move for a Saturday. When we found out we would get possession a day early, I called (a week ahead) and they were able to move our date to the Friday. The crew showed up promptly and immediately had me show them through the house to clarify what would go and what would stay. Then they got started, only bothering me to make sure it was okay to take a door and a gate off the hinges. (I was able to follow behind them to vacuum, clean windows, etc. in preparation for handing over possession.) Although it was one of the hottest days of the year, they worked steadily and took less breaks than I would have. They took a 15-minute lunch break and made a quick store stop on the way to the new house; other than that, they worked for seven solid hours. I was impressed with the care the movers took with our possessions and both houses. I heard them several times coaching each other, pointing out a low-hanging light fixture, etc. In the end, they slightly scuffed one wall--which they immediately told me about. The only broken item was something we moved ourselves. All four workers were pleasant and courteous. They were also grateful for the Gatorade and lunch we provided. One of them mentioned that some clients don't even offer them water, which is really sad. WHATEVER MOVER YOU USE, TREAT THE WORKERS RIGHT AND THEY'LL PROBABLY TREAT YOU (AND YOUR STUFF) RIGHT!!

I hired Chappell Movers despite them being more expensive than some other movers because of the ratings I read on Angie's List. I regret it. It may be because I moved on a weekend and got the and quot;part timeand quot; help. I now have a few gouges in my walls, Patio furniture was bumped hard enough that the paint is chipped off, they tried to move a upright freezer upstairs and didn't measure it and tried to take the wider dimension up. When they got to the top of the stairs they got stuck, damaged the walls and railing. They then proceeded to take it back down the stairs, then realized that it was thinner if they took it up sideways. VERY disappointed in this first experience with Angie's list, and my experience with the movers!

I used Chappel's Moving and Storage for a very difficult, if smallish to medium move from a "fixer-upper" house after I was injured and unable to do much of anything for the move to a one floor patio home with garage. A friend helped me pack a lot of my stuff after a lousy outcome from a back surgery, but I still had two rooms to go after my basement flooded. These men didn't even blink an eye over the mess, were very professional, respectful and kind to me and to my things. They packed the rest of the things, moved everything quickly, and even helped me save money with the per hour fee vs flat fee. They placed everything exactly where I asked, too. I hope I get to stay in my new patio home for the rest of my life, but if I ever had to move again...I surely would use them. They were just the best.

The service provided was uniformly excellent. I called the week before to get an estimate and to schedule service and was pleasantly surprised to find that I could have my choice of dates/times, even at such a busy moving time as the beginning of the month. On the day of the move, the truck (they provide a 24' truck) and three guys arrived precisely on time. They had everything out of my old place and into my new one in just over two hours. Everything arrived safely and the work was carried out efficiently and with good humor - in spite of the fact that it was a very hot day and my new apartment is up a narrow, twisting flight of stairs! The total charge for the service was in line with the estimate and overall I was very happy with the whole experience - moving can be a miserable process, but they made it a lot easier.

When I called, I was surprised that the company had people available to come immediately (I was expecting to wait at least a day or two). I specified a time that would allow me to meet them. The movers arrived at exactly the specified time and got right to work. The individuals were courteous, and offered to move smaller things to use up the paid-for time. They were flexible as we tried to find the best location to place the furniture, and asked if there was anything else they could do before they left. I will definitely use Chappell again, and recommend them to anyone I know who is looking for moving service.

cancelled them last minute as my husband and his brother pulled an all nighter and filled the van. they were most affordable estimate, were super nice and we would have used them for move.

Overall great job. I was originally scheduled to move on Saturday. Woke up to a torrential downpour and called to see if we could reschedule. They were very understanding and reset our move for Monday. They showed up on time, got to work right away. They were very careful with all my furniture and had it out, moved and into the new place within 3 hours. I would recommend them with no reservations

Great from start to finish. They were on time, polite, careful, and thorough. I was especially impressed with their skill in moving the piano. Couldn't ask for better.

Great. Confident over the phone, really quick scheduling, prompt arrival, quick service! They knew just what to do to get a bulky, fragile, 1000-lb tub out of the garage, across the bumpy yard, and into place for hookup. Excellent work! Then they threw in help getting rid of the oversize packaging that would have been a pain in the neck to try to dispose of. Wow!

The company was responsive, they did what they said they would do and did it in a timely manner.

They showed up when they were supposed to. They did not break anything or tear anything up when they were taking it out and bringing it in. They put everything exactly where I wanted it, as well. They were efficient and courteous in their work.

They came out and gave an estimate and the work was performed within that estimate. They arrived when they were expected and all persons were courteous, careful and helpful. It was a good move. This was our second time to use this company.
