The equipment was good, their people were knowledgeable and careful.

It went great! They were a bit late getting there, but that was ok. Garnett knew pretty quick that they would need the second truck and another mover to make a total of 4. These men worked non stop except for lunch and small breaks for 10 hours straight. Things were handled w care and all my furniture was wrapped and placed properly on the truck. You could tell these men had been doing this job for some time. Myself and several friends have used Chappell before with great results. I will not hesitate to use them again.

My overall experience with them has been excellent. What stood out to me about them was the professionalism of the employees.

I told the receptionist that access at the new house would be difficult - but inadequate man power was provided to deal with the issue. The movers were NOT told of the difficult first floor access when I asked why only 3 movers (one older man and two younger). They were not physically able to lift the piano - only rotate it - and on the concrete steps - they did not have a moving blanket positioned correctly - and rotated the finish side on the concrete. |Some structural damage was done move out of the first house - but the rotation at the second house was on the same corner - and increased the structural damage. I called the company later after the movers left to request someone to repair the structural damage (I did not trust the company to be able to repair the finish damage) - and they were not interested in dealing with it.

Great! Very polite and respectful, very careful and efficient. And price was equitable to lesser crews. Loved them and would recommend them every time.

The four men arrived promptly at 8:30 and worked very hard loading the larger and then smaller items. The weather was less than desirable - it was very cold and snowy but that didn't seem to interfere with their progress. They finished loading in about 4 hrs and unloaded in about 3 1/2 hrs. They took a short lunch and a couple of short breaks. They were pleasant and willing to reposition items. China cabinets were leveled and the beds were set up properly. We would definitely use them again.

I was really nervous about moving my mother's 1895 rosewood grand piano from her house to mine. It had not been moved for 50 years. They reassured me that they would take every precaution to make sure the piano was moved efficiently and safely without any harm to it, and they did! They were professional and punctual. They even had to carry this piano up a few steps in front of my house because it wasn't able to slide as intended on their equipment! Very good service and good price.

The team arrived on time. They introduced themselves and immediately got to work. They took all our furniture and boxes, including electronics and other fragile items. They then stopped at a storage facility to get the rest of our belongings and transported to our new home. They team unloaded the items and placed them in the new house. The entire process was smooth and efficient. I'd happily use them again.

Two movers arrived with a truck on time (8:30a.m.) and were incredibly professional and helpful. They walked through the house with us to determine what contents were ready to be loaded and got right to work. We were still packing some items and they worked around us easily. They offered advice when dealing with several difficult pieces of furniture. Once the truck was loaded and arrived at the new home they immediately began working to unload. They followed all the delivery instructions that were labeled on the boxes and checked with us when it was unclear. They managed to maneuver several challenging pieces of furniture where we wanted them without any damage whatsoever. The entire job took around 6 hours. George and Mike were exceptional at their jobs and made the day stress-free for us. We would definitely recommend this company!

The manager came out promptly to give me an estimate and then we set up a half-day for packing and half-day for moving. Three guys and a supervisor came, which was perfect. Everything went smoothly and there was no damage. They set up things like furniture in the right place as much as possible and took things such as bookcases and boxes of books to the storage area in the garage/basement. The movers were professional and seemed to care about doing a very good job. The only complaint I had was not putting plastic on the bottom of the elevator so ends of the sofa and other things would not get dirty. I guess it was okay, because there was no dirt! I have worked with movers for over thirty years, including having everything packed up and then moved hundreds of miles across the country, and I must say they are a few of the best. This was a very difficult move for me as I had to drastically downsize. Their friendly, easy-going manner made everything less stressful. Thanks! Suzanne

Brian and his crew were great. They made a wrong turn and arrived 30 minutes late but called to let us know. They worked hard and took great care with both our furniture and the houses on each end. All furniture was properly wrapped in blankets and packed securely in the truck. Very polite and professional. We filled 2/3 of a 24 foot truck and the total move took 4 hours. Cost was $93 per hour for the crew and truck plus one hour for travel. We were so pleased we tipped each worker $40 cash. Will definitely call them again and have already referred to two other friends

I had used Chappell about 7 years ago and was pleased...This move was no different. Three men arrived at 8:30 on the dot. They took one 5 minute break the entire day...they got the job done! When we got to my new home they got unloaded quickly, put the furniture exactly where I wanted it...even put my clothes in the closet for me....Not one scratch on anything!! Moving is stressful, but this crew really did their part to make everything go perfectly!

These guys know how to pack and unpack - very professional

These guys work very fast and efficient. I had a 10x12 storage unit which was loaded in 15 minutes! The 3 gentlemen unloaded and setup my furniture in half and hour. No wasted time or lingering around it was all business. All of my furniture was in the same shape when it arrived. I have used several moving companies over the last 10 years and Chappell was by far the fastest. As a bonus, my camera bag was left on the truck and one of the guys brought the back back immediately in his personal vehicle. I was thoroughly impressed. Would hire again.

I really did not appreciate that Chappell backed out less than 24 hours before the move (especially considering that I had called to confirm that they would be there), and I am particularly displeased that Chappell didn't even have the courtesy to call me directly. Instead, they had someone else -- someone with whom I had had NO previous contact -- call me, and essentially give me a take-it-or-leave-it option. Given the late hour (after 3:00 on a Friday afternoon), it was not practical for me to find another mover and still move timely. As for the company that actually did the moving, the three guys who came performed satisfactorily. They weren't great, but they were good enough. However, it's very difficult for me to be very positive about the entire experience given the bad taste left in my mouth by the very poor direct interaction with Chappell. I don't do business that way, and neither should anyone else. Note that I selected that the provider did not perform services, because -- they were performed -- the services were not provided by Chappell. Also, I selected and quot;N/Aand quot; for Punctuality because, as they did not actually perform any services, there was nothing for me to judge in terms of Chappell's punctuality.

Very smoothly.... very pleasant and skilled crew. They were productive and efficent and good to work with on a hot day with 4 floors of house to move through. The owners delivered packing materials to us ahead of time and were also great to work with We would definitely recommend Chappell Movers!!

The movers were late; the truck broke down as it left their site. They had to return to get a new truck. Once they arrived, they appeared to do their job quickly and efficiently. I was surprised at how much they were able to condense things in the PODS unit. I had space in half the PODS left over. I had provided 40 blankets with which to wrap my furniture, and 15 were left over. The crew brought the remainder of items to my apartment and unloaded them quickly. They chipped one table, but I did not notice until the next day, so I could not file a claim. With regard to the PODS...the crew was aware the unit would be lifted and transported, and they obviously know how these things work. However, when they wrapped my leather furniture, they only wrapped three sides (even though I still had extra blankets). They placed the unwrapped side with the leather resting up against the wooden side of the PODS. I didn't realize they had done this, until I went to unload the PODS. The leather was scuffed from rubbing against the side of the PODS. If they had placed the wrapped portion of the furniture against the side, or if they had wrapped the entire loveseat, this would not have happened. Further, I had an unopened store box of dishes that clearly said and quot;porcelainand quot; on it. Instead of telling me they could not transport the box (because I also was loading things into my car), they put it in the PODS...in fact, it was not even in the stack of items to go into the PODS, but someone picked it up. Then, they put it on top of other items, where it was not secure. Needless to say, when the PODS was opened, the box had crashed to the floor and some of the dishes were broken. When I called Chappell's, they told me they were not responsible for the dishes, because they should not have been loaded. They also would not tell me how to file a claim and complained that I should realize that PODS move about, and that things will rub against the sides. The man with whom I spoke did not want to listen to my explanation of how the items were not wrapped. He continued to tell me they were not responsible for the breakage of the dishes, even though I told him I understood that. He simply would not address the leather issue, other than to say to call back on Monday and someone would have to come out and evaluate what I had claimed. He hung up on me. I did not even bring up the fact that an armoire had scratches along the top side of it, as if it had been banged into something before it was wrapped. I also had a cedar chest, which they wrapped so loosely, that the items in it started to fall out, because they had placed it on its side. I also had a chair that had been wedged against the side, with boxes so tightly around it, that the leg came loose from the pressure. But again, seems I cannot and quot;proveand quot; any of this. Yes, these guys were efficient with their time, but now I see the result of that efficiency. After the man at the location hung up on me, I called back to cancel my appointment for them to move me again. I will be taking them to small claims court, as I took pictures of the damage before unloading the PODS. If you want an inexpensive moving option, and don't mind running the risk of damage, hire these guys. They are quick. But be prepared to fight out any claims you might have, because they really don't want to admit any liability.

They worked quickly and the service provided was well worth the money. They told me 8:30 am and showed up at 9:00am but to me was not a big deal. They charged $93/hr for three men and the truck. This was the best $558 I've spent in a long time.

Our closing dates changed several times and they were great about working around that.

Over all pretty well, but a couple of small items were damaged and some paint on woodwork was scraped off.They also brought an extra person along and told me it would have taken longer if they had stuck to the four man plan.They did finish fairly quickly, and were professional.

The movers did a great job moving my stuff very professionally and did not scratch or dent any walls or doors. All went very smoothly and the guys were very professional and helpful. Only thing that would have been better is if pricing were explained more clearly up front. When you pay a 2 hour minimum you only get them for one hour from the time they reach house A to the time they leave house B. They tack on one more hour for the driving time, even if they only have to drive for 30 min total.

I set the arrival date approximately two weeks in advance, explaining I was driving in on 12/01/12 from Alabama. We set a time for the arrival of the men who would unload the truck. I was instructed to call them if I arrived earlier than the agreed upon time. Approximately two hours before arriving (and 3 hours before our agreed upon time). I received a call stating the men were running late and would be at my new house within the next half hour. We straightened out the time issue and I continued on my way. When I arrived in Louisville, I called the company and was told the men would arrive within the hour. No one arrived. When I called the company again, we discussed the morning confusion and they sent three men out immediately. The movers were friendly, efficient, and careful with my furniture and belongings. I have no complaints about their work and would recommend them without reservation. Their price was more reasonable than any of the moving companies I contacted in the area. I'd say I would use them again, but I'm hoping this is my last move!!!

The Chappell van and 3 movers arrived at exactly 8:30am as scheduled. They were careful and intent in their work, and went out of their way to make the process as convenient for the customer as possible. Their experience and professionalism were obvious and they worked together very well as a team. The piano disassembly-move-and reassembly was well done. They finished late in the afternoon, and nothing was missing or damaged.

Outstanding service. Very affordable, dependable, and professional. I will use them again!
