When I first met with Case, I had already received estimates from 2 competitors. The salesman came in and looked around. I pointed out our problem areas and he reassured me our case was "textbook". He described a comprehensive process by which they would brace the exterior foundation and then measure pressures on our braces to make sure the distribution was even. He seemed to tell me what I needed to hear about it curing my problems with uneven stress across interior walls. Despite some skepticism, I wanted to believe. On the day they arrived, the crew worked very hard. The head guy seemed unfamiliar with the process of measuring these pressures on our braces, which I found very upsetting. To me, this was an integral part of the comprehensive approach. They placed the piers on the outside and essentially felt our braces with their hands, stating "yep, they're snug". I assume they did the piers right, but that is beyond my level of expertise so I have to trust them. I called with my concerns and only then was a second team sent to check the pressures. They used a hydraulic lift to left segments where they are braced and make "adjustments". The whole process seemed discombobulated and I'm not certain it is something that they typically do. The house creaked and popped some. I can only hope that more damage than good wasn't done. Ultimately, I feel I was misled. I was given reassurance about a complex process that seemed to ultimately consist of little more than the labor of pier placement without additional expertise. The cost of the piers was competitive, assuming it was done correctly. I continue to notice new drywall crinkles and nail pops (despite the house being 25 years old), so the stress on the interior walls remains. I would rather seek assistance from a different group for the braces than risk damage to the most valuable investment we own.

Case was very professional and great to work with. My floors were sinking due to water rotting the wood posts in my crawl space. Case installed a drain to divert rain water from getting underneath the house and installed 4 jackposts to jack up the floor. The floor is stable and much better than it was, and I am already seeing rain water gushing out our french drain away from the house. They also installed a new vapor barrier. The price was also very reasonable. Overall very pleased.

The crew came out and did an excellent job. Shrubs needed to be taken out to get access and they had to dig down a considerable distance. They were awesome, everything was done exactly as stated and I was kept abreast to their progress by the team lead. They put all shrubs back, swept back all dirt and mulch (they had put sheets down to not ruin the grass) and pressure sprayed sidewalks and porches along with part of the drive. I will use Buddy and his crew any time I have trouble with any of my rental homes or if I have trouble again.
Description of Work: Buddy came out and explained every detail to me. He is extremely knowledgeable and I appreciated his telling me what to look for if I chose another provider. Three of the pillars on our house were pulling away from the house and needed have piers installed.

These guys were most professional. When I asked how long they would be here, they said " until your satisfied with the work ". They used precautions ( laid down plastic sheeting ) to keep the slab jacking material from getting on my driveway. They were able to raise the floor back to its original level. There was one corner that didn't want to rise up. They worked for several hrs. to get the that corner to release from the foundation and rise. They discussed with me each option they were going to try to get that one stubborn corner to come up. They were able to get it to come within 1/4 inch of original level and this was just fine with me as this small section was in a corner and where my workbench was going back into. So, I was very happy with their work. They did a great job of cleaning up. Even pressure washed the garage floor and driveway. Would use this company again if I had any foundation / slab / basement problems in the future.
Description of Work: Leveled my garage floor that had sunk 2 inches in two areas. One section that had sunk was about 20 ft.wide and 10 Ft from the center of the garage to the front wall. The other section was about 10 ft. wide and 10 ft. from center of garage.

The work went quickly and they stayed on the job until it was completed. They were to locate all utilities, unfortunately when two of the piers were installed there was damage done to the sewer line and electric line to smaller garage. The result of the damage didn?t show up until much later. Their salesman (Buddy) said & I have it in my signed contract they if the front porch couldn?t be repaired, they would re-pour, they didn't. The concrete they put back on the drive way is sinking and cracking apart, they killed three plants on the side of the smaller garage. I called the owner; his answer was they were not responsible. I have photos of all repairs and receipts.

Great service! These guys have years of experience in this field. They know their stuff. They were very informative and explained in in detail so that anyone could understand what they would do and why. I would hire them again if I ever have any other structural problems.
Description of Work: Repaired two settlement cracks in foundation that were leaking during heavy rains with epoxy filler.
From beginning to end this was a very good experience. Buddy was the person who came out to give the estimate. He was very thorough in his explanation of how the system would work and the work that would be done. I contacted other companies for estimates, which were around the same price, but the service from Case was outstanding so I went with them. The job was scheduled, and within 10 days the work was complete. They showed up with a very large crew who go right to work. The crew leader was very professional and made sure all the work was done properly and to a high standard. He also explained everything in detail before they started the work. It only took one day, and when they were done it looked like a totally different basement. The service and quality of work makes this company a definite choice for any foundation or basement work in the future. After the job was complete, the owner himself made sure to speak with me and get me some documents I needed to fulfill a mortgage refinance, and he did it quickly.
Description of Work: Case Foundation Systems waterproofed my basement. It leaked small amounts during heavy rains. They drilled the concrete floor and put in a perimeter drainage system along with a sump pump and a back up pump that leads to the water line. They also lined the walls from floor to ceiling to make sure any wall leaks lead to the drainage system.

I chose Case based on the reviews I had read on Angie's List ... I was most concerned with price and believe this that Case was fair with me. A crew spent most of the day at my house and installed some pretty heavy duty stabilizing bars ... so I think $3,500 was probably a fair price. My only complaint is that when they cut my drywall in the basement, they didn't save the squares that were cut out ... so I had to buy drywall and cut the squares so they were fit back in the holes that were left. The job would have been easier if they would have saved the pieces so I could have just put them back. When I asked about the pieces that were cut out they said they had been "busted up" while removing them. ... In the grand scheme of things it's a minor thing ... but I sure wish they would have carefully cut the drywall so I could have had an easier time repairing the wall ... Overall, though, they did a GREAT job.

I can't begin to tell anyone how nice they were. From the very beginning with Candace on the phone, she listened carefully to what was going on and sent me right away to the person I needed. The damage to my home by another contractor left me sick to my stomach, after he drove a backhoe into my house and continued to tell me it was no big deal. Joe and his partner came in and showed us where the house had been moved off the foundation. Something the other contractor never even mentioned. They provided two different quotes, one for the repairs caused by the other contractor one where he damaged our foundation, and one for the original problem for waterproofing and moisture control in our basement.. While they were there I asked them if they would mind looking at one of my mother's rentals because I was finding cracks in the walls and couldn't shut some of the doors. They showed me in the basement where water had been in there and the water problems that was causing sloping to the house. At no time during them being at my homes, did I feel rushed, they talked to me in English, and they didn't talk down to me because I'm a woman! I would have never found this company with out Angie's list. I made the call and had them here in two days. All I can say, if you need this type of work done, these are the people to do it. I was very impressed with the entire company. Now I just waiting on insurance to help us out. Hopefully it wont be long. Thank you Case Company for all your help, I felt like I was talking to old friends or family, I was so comfortable with all of you. Lori Orchid

Great. Since, I'm not an engineer, I cannot explain except to say that they drilled several holes in my driveway and garage to build up my foundation. They then filled holes completely and cleaned up the job site by pressure washing any remaining concrete splashes. DO ask to have Harvey on the job!
Description of Work: Case came in and "slab-jacked" our driveway and garage. They were very professional and did a great job. They also gave us a 3 year service warranty guaranteeing their work. Harvey was the foreman and was kind, considerate, and I highly recommend them.

Case Foundation Systems had the lower price of the three companies contacted, and his proposal was complete and I had the confidence he could handle the work. Conracted for the work, did have a couple of weather related delays of starting the job that I felt were out of the contractors control. Once on the job, Case stayed on the job until completion, and was more than cooperative in working with me to get the work done to my satisfaction. I asked for an extra barrier to be installed as insurance, and provided the material, and Case installed at no additional charge. Joe warned me before he committed to the job that his men weren't graders, but would work with me and follow direction. That is exactly what was done and the grading turned out to be a positive drain from the building. After they dug up the foundation we could see there was no waterproofing in a spot at the corner, so I asked if they would go around the corner about six feet and add the additional j-system and met no resistance. The job has been in place now for almost two years and works perfectly. The unit is now finished and occupied with no signs of any water or dampness.
Description of Work: I managed a condominium building that was bought by an investor in a 75% completed state. It was observed while supervising the final stages of construction that the previous contractor had built the building with one end of the building having a finished first floor level that was lower than the finish grade, and the grade being toward the building rather than away from the foundation. When there was a heavy rain one of the units got a good bit of water into the first floor. Upon further inspection it was observable that work had been performed to try to remedy the situation to no avail by the previous contractor. Met with Joe, the owner of the business and he suggested a J-System French drain system to carry the water away from the building. I had several specific requests regarding how we were going to get the water across the sidewalk (under) and to the parking area. In addition I asked that he work with me on a time and material basis to establish as much positive drain away from the foundation as possible. I was aware this was very difficult as the elevation of the building was just lower than it should have been Two other contractors were contacted for prices, and recommendation as well.

Contracted for the work, had major justifiable delays starting the job due to soft saturated ground due to the poor drainage and abnormally wet spring and early summer that were beyond the contractors control. After the drought set it the major damp ground would not dry out and Case hand dug trenches to drain the water to the catch basin in order to foster ground conditions that would allow the equipment to get onto the work area. I might add there was no extra charge for this accommodation. Once on the job, Case stayed on the job until completion, and was more than cooperative in working with me to get the work done to my satisfaction. The job has been in place now for about 9 months, has weathered heavy storms and works perfectly. The owner of the unit that had the water in her unit has had no further water intrusion. There are no longer large areas of pooling. Being a construction manager and builder for over 30 years I can say I will definitely be contacting Joe at Case Foundation systems to do my work in the future. As a matter of fact we referred him to our daughter who had a finished basement with water problems and they contracted with Case and have been very satisfied. irc
Description of Work: In a condominium complex we received a call from an owner complaining of water in her first floor unit when it rained. Upon inspection it was observed that the building , just as another one I had finished for the second owner, had the elevation too low on one end of the building and water was being trapped at the foundation where the finish grade was higher than the finished first floor. The previous contractor had made repairs to remedy the problem but they were not adequate to solve the problem. Inspected the building further and discovered a drainage problem caused by the same elevation problem, which caused water to form a large pool at the end of a common breezeway, and the patios of several other units. The previous problem in the other building mentioned had been corrected by Case Foundation Systems to our complete satisfaction so we decided they would have preference on this project. Met with Joe, the owner of the business and he suggested a J-System French drain system next to the unit that had water intrusion to carry the water away from the building. When we got to the overall drainage problem I had basically decided how to best and most cost effectively correct this problem. Joe came up with the same basic solution, and we developed an overall plan including cutting the sidewalk to extend drains for the downspouts to the French drain, and changing the entire drainage swale behind the building to assure the water would get to the huge 2 foot by 2 foot French drain that was to be installed to the nearest 24” catch basin riser. Two other contractors were contacted for prices, and recommendation as well. One showed and would not tackle the work, the other said they did not do exterior water remediation. Case Foundation Systems had an acceptable price and it was with the provision that they would do the exact work as outlined to remedy the drainage problem, and I would get the finish grading, sod, seeding, and concrete replacement work done by others. This was an acceptable plan as we felt the overall job would be then done by tradesmen skilled in their particular trade, and the price would be less as Case Foundation Systems would have to subcontract out that part of the work.

We had a crack in the brick on the side of our house. We talked to the team at CASE as well as other companies at the home show. We had two companies come out and give us quotes to lift the corner of the house to prevent it from cracking anymore. The other company was outrageously expensive and seemed to want to do much more than what was needed and said they would basically destroy our finished basement which would cost us as much as getting the crack fixed. Joe, the owner of CASE came out and explained to us what caused the crack and what needed to be done to have it repaired. The cost was very reasonable, especially after talking to the other company, and we have a life time warranty. When we were at the home show a couple came up to the owner of CASE and said what a great job they had done for them and their neighbors. They said how one neighbor used a different company, already had problems and then got charged again to have it fixed again! They told CASE how everyone that used CASE was glad they did. So am I! Great company, good honest quotes, good honest work, and they gave us a copy of their insurance without us even asking, a certificate that says basically they own that corner of our house as far as any foundation issues and will be responsible for it if we have any other issues with it in the future. Time will only tell, but from what I have seen with this company, if you have a foundation problem, they are the ones to call!
Description of Work: We had a crack in the brick on the side of our house. We got a quote from the owner, they came out the morning we scheduled the work, lifted the house to prevent further cracking where the foundation had settled, and they were done in about 5 hours installing 3 lifting devices. The gutter was letting too much water settle in this area, which they fixed as well. The crack is much smaller now and best of all we don't have to worry about future settling because we have a life time warranty.

Case came out, did the work. Cleanup was excellent! Foreman on the job answered questions. All went well.
Description of Work: Case installed a waterproofing system at one property for me and did drainage work at another. They installed piers (foundation repair) for a close friend and did a crack repair for their neighbor. The work has been excellent and the one time we thought there may be a problem they came out and checked on it. Turned out there was not a problem at all. Excellent experience.
