Description of Work: Although I had to contact them to get an estimate once I did things moved pretty fast. However, I am not able to put out the expense at this time.

Description of Work: Burkheads installed gutter guard on the gutters on our garage and on the first and second levels of the rear of our home. After installation, some sections of gutter covering looked uneven, and a sharp piece of snipped metal was left on the ground in our back yard, where there was a real risk a child might step on it. Installation of some sections of the gutter guard do not appear to meet manufacturer's specs, in that too few zip screws were used - in some cases, none at all in the back edges of the panels. The cost originally cited by owner was $1,680, which he said included a $300 discount. I asked for gutter guard on an additional stretch of about six feet of second-floor guttering, and the owner added $420 to the price. I asked for an explanation, and he said it had to do with height and the required ladder length. In my judgment, that makes no sense, given that the workman didn't ascend to a different height or use a different ladder than the one he'd used for the rest of his work. I left messages with the company asking for some adjustment in the price, but have gotten no answer. I've received no written warranty, just word-of-mouth assurance that if I had any problems I could call and they'd be fixed. I plan to install the missing zip screws myself.

Description of Work: I purchased the $49 mold evaluation from them and they communicated with me on when they would be able to perform the sevice. Jim let me know what work needs to be done and I am waiting on an estimate from him and hopefully we can work something out to get my issues taken care of. Very happy with the services performed so far.

Description of Work: They cam walked the roof and fix some pop up nails and calk around some vents. I did not have to be there for them to come. It was great.

Description of Work: Burkheads blew insulation into my attic. We had a minor scheduling snafu but Jim more than made up for it. Once they arrived, they did a great job - very quick and very clean and very reasonable! I will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I had a leak in my bedroom so I purchased a big deal for an inspection and roof repair. They put ahead on their list of priorities since I had a leak, which I appreciated. When they came out they noticed right away all the problems associated with my roof. They were helpful in guiding me through the insurance claim process and it is still ongoing. I highly recommend thus company.

Description of Work: I found Burkhead's through an Angie's List Big Deal for a roof inspection. Jim Burkhead came out and inspected my roof. He said it was getting old (25 yrs) and also commented on the things the original builders had done wrong on the roof. I asked him for an estimate for a new roof as noted above. He was also very helpful in picking the color of the shingles (he had a brochure of all selections). I had previously had two other estimates which were $3000-5000 higher plus they were not very helpful in helping me pick the color of the shingles. Jim gave me the address of a job he had done with the same color shingle; my wife and I drove by the house and liked his recommendation. I asked Jim for a copy of his insurance/workman's comp and he replied right away. The job was started a few days after I accepted his offer. The roofers did a great job stripping the old shingles and putting on the new shingles. They were very professional (hand nailed shingles) and did a good job cleaning up the work site. Total time to complete the job was 2 full days plus 2 hours on the third day. I would highly recommend Burkhead's Home Specialist.

Description of Work: Mr Burkhead arrived promptly and did a very thorough inspection for mold. He inspected in the house, in the attic as well as under the house. He was very professional.

Description of Work: Mr. Burkhead went out of his way to locate the best deal for us on soundproof windows that his crew installed on a cold day in Feb. These guys are perfectionists! They went out of their way to make sure they didn't make/leave a mess. They were also entertaining to watch while they worked. They installed soundproof windows in our master bedroom and our den. They also worked with us on scheduling the job and were very accommodating. I would definitely use them again.
