Description of Work: This Company is the reason I joined Angie's List. Trying to prevent others from being scammed by the owner. Simple appliance repair for a knowledgeable repair person. Freezer would not get cold enough to freeze food. After several BS reasons for not arriving on time, the owner diagnosed the problem as a defective defrost timer. My son ask if it could possible be the thermostat and he said no. Charged $150.00 for parts labor and service run. We called him back 3 days later and said no improvement. He returned and wanted to charge us $114.00 more for a thermostat. I explained that he made a bad call the first time and felt we should not have to pay. I questioned him on the price of the part which was 30% more than list. Just search google and you can find list price of any part. He said he sometimes charges more than list because the market will bear it and he has to make some money. I explained that his ad I had called him from in the phone book said no service charge if repairs are done. He denied that that was his ad, and it just came out without his approval. He then reduced his price to $65.00. I told him I could spend all day in small claims court and he agrred to put the thermostat on at no charge but NO GUARANTEE. He put it on in 10 minutes and was gone. Frige is working perfectly now.
