Allgeier Air

I am extremely happy, even having to pay the $144 weekend service fee. Matt, my service tech, had to interrupt his weekend to work in my heating emergency, which he did with a smile. OTHER PLACES I called had told me they couldn't see me as late as NEXT FRIDAY! With high temps in the 50's and lows near freezing this week I needed to get this fixed right away. Matt came in to show me exactly what the problem was and why my unit was not working. He had to go out in the wet and cold weather, in the sloshy ground of my back yard to fix my Heating Unit. He was never anything but pleasant even under poor working conditions and working on a Saturday! I will gladly use them again for my heating and cooling service needs. I hope this company knows how great of an employee they have in Matt.

After the initial sales visit, the Algeir installation team came by for a walk through and discussed the installation. Regarding the process and timing all my expectations were met. Everyone involved did an excellent job.

Once again: the Allgeier Air Company has saved us from making a hugh financial mistake. We own a 3000 sq foot retail buisness. The air conditioning system failed yesterday. We had called the previous company that had worked on the system years ago. When they checked the unit they said the compresser was shot and would have be replaced. They also said that a crane would be needed to remove the current compresser. Cost Estimate was $4000 - 5000 . We called Allgeier Air. Today. They arrived and found that the only thing wrong was that there the compresser contacts were burned out due to insects on the contacts. TOTAL COST FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE CONTACT BOARD: $300.00 Without Angies List we would have never known........... Mary & David Friedlander DRF, INC

Arrived on-time and finished work quickly for a rental property. No subsequent problems with A/C or furnace units. I would use them again.

I spent $25000 on this geothermal system. I can't get ahold of them anymore. They've cost me money and time by missing appointments and making me miss work. They don't return my calls. The system runs really loud. It was supposed to save me money but right off the bat my electrical bill was higher. They never showed up for our last scheduled maintenance visit, I pay $20.00 a month for them to come for these visits. I've had trouble with them honoring the correct price for this monthly fee as well as not showing up for maintenance visits for a long time now.

Have not used this service.

They come out bi-annually to service our heating and a/c unit. I am very satisfied with them. We have been using them for around 4 years now. We will continue to use them in the future.

Provided long explanation of possible issues and recommended replacing units. Basically, they are not as efficient as they could be if newer.

They showed up. Were courteous. Did their job. Will definitely keep using them. This was our second experience with them.

/Well he showed me a picture of the furnace and said it needed cleaning for another charge. He also said it had no Freon in the air unit and that was another charge of 119.00 per pound and it will take 6 pounds. And said I should buy and new furnace and air unit. Also he said that that the leak could be in Acoil on furnace or the air unit and would be another charge. But on the check off sheet for cleaning the air unit no check on put in the box stating it has a Freon leak. It is a estate house and didn't like the way he was talking to me about everything have a charge. And it seem that he was pushing for all new furnace and air unit and for this reason I will not do business with them.

Installed a new heating and air handling system for my upper floor and work on subsequent issues. $6000 is the initial cost of the unit, and was actually installed in 2007-08. We had some initial issues with the system but Allgeier technicians and the company president provided excellent customer service in troubleshooting the problems and they made sure the system was operating properly.

Everything went smoothly to gut and install a new high-efficiency Trane HVAC system in a house built in 1906 -- obviously not the easiest of tasks. It required asbestos abatement to remove old asbestos-wrapped ductwork, blown-in insulation in an unheated attic, and some termite treatment along the way. It was not an easy process, but they paid close attention to detail and did a great job of getting the old system out and a new, very efficient system in. My utility bills are about 30 percent less than they were with the old system.

This was a project I researched and discussed with contractors for almost six months. Having electric heat only was quite the dilemma. The decision on going with a heat pump vs a conventional air unit and increased investment required a lot of research and the good folks at Allgeier Air were of great help in making that decision. They educated me on savings of a heat pump and provided me with various options based on my budget. Though the initial investment was more than I had originally planned, Rick Allgeier and his team pointed out the rebates available from LG&E as well as federal and state tax credits offered. The installation went exactly as planned, almost done to the minute that the installers had estimated. Great care was given by the installers on leaving my home and yard clean as they had found it. So far my unit has worked to expectations. It is so quite, I can't tell when its on. All I can suggest, if you are taking on a project like this is, do your homework, ask lots of questions and call the good folks at Allgeier Air. One thing that was common from most of the articles, forums and blogs that I read was that most systems are fairly comparable in performance, the key is the company doing the installation. I am looking to a comfortable summer with my new system and anticipate substantial savings. And greater savings this winter. Good luck with your project, and thank you to everyone at Allgeier Air. They came out to check the air conditioner to make sure everything was working alright.

I didn't like the service of Allgeier Air. They came thrice to the house. They were more concerned with replacing the unit and fixing it when the parts I needed fixing was under warranty by the manufacturer. I told them I didn't want that done. They didn't even finish the clean-up. The guy told me there was no gas leak and the furnace was fine. The next morning I smelled gas up on the furnace. They had the audacity to charge me $150 because they claimed that they fixed the gas leak. It was ridiculous. I won't ever use them again. I don't even want them in my house. I don't trust them.

They came out twice. The same guy came both times. He seemed pretty thorough and he was polite. He did put the little things on his shoes so that he wouldn’t track in anything. All of those things were okay. He did kind of forget to plug the air conditioner back in. So I had to finish his work for him but that really wasn’t too difficult. I thought that it was average for the type of work that they did. The price was great because it was the Angie’s List Deal.

After moving into a home with some A/C issues- we decided to call Allgeirer to come out and take a look at what may be going on. The tech (Matt) that came out was precisely on time. He came to the door, introduced himself, and then put booties on before entering my home. He was extremely professional, and explained to me what he was doing and looking for the whole time I was with him. He went over our options. We had a freon and oil leak in the coil above the furnace unit. The cheapest route would be to simply replace the inside coil. We were told this would be approximately $1,100. Or- we could look at replacing the entire unit since ours was low efficiency, and nearing the end of its life expectancy. I was told I would be contacted by their Sale's rep over the course of the next couple days. The diagnostic appointment cost 78$. In the meantime- I had 2 other companies (which I will leave unnamed) come out and look at the furnace. Neither one were nearly as helpful or descriptive as the initial Allgeirer rep. They never even gave just replacing the coil as an option. They were telling me everything needed to go. One rep from another company couldn't even fit in the space to look at the furnace- and still charged me $88.00 for just coming out. The phone call from the comfort designer Michael came the same evening as the tech came out. We set up an appointment for him to come out and go over our options. He came out (once again on time)- and spent TWO AND A HALF HOURS answering questions, and going over things with us. He walked us through what different options we would have. He took measurements, and then we began pricing out options that would work for us. He began with the cheapest option of just replacing the coil- and then we worked our way up to the full system replacement. He explained a thorough cost benefit analysis of each option. We ended up choosing a higher end model and full system replacement. We walked away confident in our decision. He put everything in writing for us- and called while we were sitting with him to set up the install appointment. They were able to get us in 2 days later, but because of my husband and I's schedule, we had to wait 3. The install techs arrived around 8:30 to our home. They once again wore booties- and laid down blankets to protect our flooring. They worked incredibly hard throughout the day- not even leaving to take lunch. We small talked, and they were very professional while on the job. Towards the end of the day- we came across an unexpected snag. Once the install was complete- when they went to test the system, the thermostat wouldn't kick the system on. Turns out- there was a break in the previous thermostat wiring. They spent an additional 3 hours fixing that problem for us. We offered for them to come back another day since it was getting so late- but they insisted on finished the job for us, and we very apologetic (even though it wasn't their fault at all). They ended up leaving our home at 8:30-8:45 PM. They cleaned up their mess, and you would have never even known they were here (aside from our brand new system!) They never left- never stopped working, I never even saw them eat! They were the hardest working team we have ever had in our home. Overall, our experience with Allgeier was FANTASTIC. My husband and I are extremely impressed with the operation that they are running. We will never ever work with anyone else for HVAC again. Thank you all so much!!

Today I had an appointment for 12:00 pm and called to see if they would be able to come earlier since I had been called into work earlier than normal today. They were actually running "ahead of schedule" and were able to be here at 10:30 instead. This worked out perfect for me. I was so surprised since I was expecting them to be behind schedule. The serviceman was very professional and friendly. I have always been extremely satisfied with Allgeier Air's professionalism and with their service!! I would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a great heating and air company!!!

Very professional and courteous, but I felt I was being scammed.

I am extremely satisfied and would highly recommend these folks to any homeowner who wants a quality job. I would add that a geo-thermal system is a wonderful value, especially if you have a dependable body of water close enough to your home to use that as your geo-thermal source. (small pond, lake, dependable stream, etc.) I have a 3 acre pond on my property, and it works very well for geo-thermal. Digging wells is more expensive and has a longer pay-back. I also did some research on Allgeiger Air before I contracted with them and felt they were the best value. They seemed to have had some extra training from WaterFurnace - the product I purchased. One final note about the dispatcher: she was courteous and gave me arrival times that the crew matched with their performance. I got a follow-up phone call several days later just to ,make sure I was satisfied and that my system was running as expected. I actually was so impressed with her phone skills, I told her I would hire her away from them if I could! Allgeier Air was a pleasure to deal with and I would do it again if the occasion ever arose. I will use their preventive care services going forward to keep my investment running well..

Excellent, the unit was installed in one day. Only problem was the thermostat, but that was resolved by the owner. Most importantly, they gave us the money for a rebate that LG&E refused!!!! That was amazing. Thanks Ruth!

with the weatherman predicting the coldest days of the winter coming up our furnace went out. contacted 6 or more heating instatllation companies and winnowed the choices down to allgeier air and one other. although kind of a toss up between the 2 companies, we selected allgeier air. allgeir scheduled and performed the installation the next day. the installers arrived promptly and worked diligently until the install was complete. they were professional and thorough. the cold weather hit but we've been quite toasty. one issue arose with regard to the venting of the furnace to the exterior of the home but it was resolved promptly.

I was very pleased with their services!
