Plus, we felt completely comfortable having such a cool guy in our home. He did a great job and we would always call Allen's and ask for Cris (without an h) :-) when we need work done again. Description of Work: Our electric cable got knocked down by a garbage truck and tore out the conduit and part of our siding.Allen Electric came out on time.They were very courteous and professional.They even help fix up our siding temporarily(the best they could)and did a decent job.I said the price might be a little high,but I think most companys like this would have charged the same.For the quality of work,it's worth it.For doing business with them they sent us a jar of chocolates later on that month. Good people.

Description of Work: I had two electrical outlets in my kitchen cabinets that just stopped working. They came, did diagnostic, found the problem (wire under floor had broken) and repaired it. It took about half a day to complete. The cost seemed high to me, but they put a lot of time into it and cleaned up after themselves and the works seems quality - it is all working so far. Their office had great customer service. Overall I was very pleased and would recommend them.

Description of Work: I have used Allen electric many times in the past. On this particular time the air conditioning had gone out and I thought it was a HVAC problem. It turned out to be a wiring problem. It was a hot Saturday evening but I called and they sent a technician right out. He ended up having to rewire some of the basement area leading to the AC unit. He stayed long into the night finishing it so we could get the house cooled down. The technician was prompt and skilled and I have and will continue to recommend Allen Electric for all my electrical needs.

Description of Work: The electrician arrived on time and examined the electrical box in the garage; we had had problems with the dryer stopping when the oven was on at the same time. As we suspected, there was a serious problem, which was a potential fire hazard. We scheduled a 2nd appointment to have the panel replaced. "Chris" a different electrician arrived a few days later and replaced the panel. Everything works well now. The two electricians were very professional and explained everything and answered our questions. They called when they were on their way, wore shoe covers before entering the house. We would certainly use their services again.

Description of Work: Electrician removed the remains of a lightbulb stuck inside a recessed light fixture and replaced the fitting which he found to be old and corroded. Tech was on time, polite, informative and respectful. I was very satisfied with the quality of his work and that he took the time to explain what has happened and how he proposed to resolve it. He also suggested ways to avoid similar problems from happening in the future.

 + -1 moreMy hottub was not getting any electricity and I called Allen to investigate the problem. The secretary over the phone said that there would be a charge for just showing up (as is with most electricians). When they got there, they showed me a chart that shows different levels of prices and that testing the breakers with a voltmeter rises over the $200 level. So, even before any work was done, they cornered me and forced me to commit to a price. I reluctantly agreed and they performed the voltmeter tests, which took 10 minutes. To make matters worse, they didn't fix the problem or have the knowledge to suggest what could be wrong. Finally (and this is where I have the problem), they - even despite the fact that they were there for only 10 minutes and failed to fix the problem - they insisted on their absurd, rip-off price. I ended up paying $246 - FOR NOTHING!! This is the most unreasonable situation I've ever experienced with an electrician. Don't waste your money on them.
Description of Work: They performed a brief volt meter test on the circuit breaker from the main house and on the actual hottub itself. It took them about 10 minutes.
