Description of Work: Duane called prior to the time set. He arrived on time and performed the chimney inspection and cleaning in a professional manner. He patiently answered all of our questions on back draft issues, insulation, glass enclosures, types of wood to burn, buildup, and safety. We had used another "sweep" before and even a fireplace installation company but Duane surpassed them all with knowledge and advice. I didn't know that this company is the ONLY certified chimney cleaning service in the area. He showed us the inside of our chimney with a camera - all the way to the top. I will definitely refer them to others and we'll use them in the future.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from this company for: $99 for chimney sweeping and safety inspection. The work itself was fine. I did not like that they were trying to sell me some more service when they came out. They recommended that to me. My wife was there when they did the chimney sweeping and safety inspection. Scheduling was fine, I called them up and they were able to come out at their next open time slot.

Description of Work: He came, looked at all my chimneys and basically tried to sell me $25,000 in chimney liners (yes, the comma is in the right place) - and that was per chimney!! He did not sweep the chimneys (the service I paid for)! He said he would follow up with an email. I have heard nothing!! VERY DIS-SATISFIED! A total rip off. I feel scammed!

Thank you for taking The time to read our response. We were called out to (member name removed)'s home to provide an estimate for masonry repair. Photos where taken of the chimney and presented to him. His chimney is in an advanced state of deterioration crumbling brick, rusted and improperly installed caps broken crown and a flue pipe that was flush with the chimney top. This chimney had been allowing water to enter the chimney cavity for a number of years. The chimney had been painted and the majority of mortar joints had deteriorated to nothing more than a sand filling. To return this chimney to structural sound and water tight condition was not a minor repair. When the true nature of the condition was presented to (member name removed) he was not interested in that level of repair. He only wanted some of the most obvious areas tuck pointed and the unused flues sealed. We left an estimate for minor tuck-pointing and a price to cut to stainless steel pieces to seal off unused flues. A few weeks later he called and asked if we would do the work. His repair was canceled two times due to weather during July. When we are contacted via email we respond accordingly. Im not aware of any missed appointments. (member name removed) drew a very detailed diagram of a chimney repair he had envisioned that included a custom metal wrap including a dozen details that we are not capable of complying with for the $105 we charged for the chimney top repair. Our mistake was not to walk away seeing we were not in a position make each other happy. No amount of sheet metal or caulk could repair this chimney in a fashion that would solve his problem or that we would be proud of. We routinely rebuild and repair many types of chimneys and have a long history of happy customers that follow our recommended repairs. This post is the first we have heard of any discontent that (member name removed) has had with our services. That being said we do have a 100% customer guarantee of satisfaction and have decided to mail (member name removed) a full refund for all services rendered. Description of Work: We ordered the inspection / cleaning since we haven't used the fireplace since we just bought the home. Looks like the previous didn't either. When they inspected and found it wasn't used they were good enough to return the portion of the actual sweep. All the people we talked with from this company were very nice.

Description of Work: He stated the chimney did not need cleaned. There was a leak and they sated the water had cleaned the chimney. They did give us anestimte for fixing the leak and then anothe estimate for doing addiiona work, becuase they stated there had been a fire in the chimeny when the other owners owned the home.
