Aire Serv of Louisville

At home depot, aire serv was offering a a/c heating cleaning and inspection for 89.00,that cost me 209.00 eventually.they sprayed some kind of acid solution on the condensor coils, and then charge the system to the max, thereby blowlng out the ac system. When I talked to the company rep, they were rude, crude and uncooperative,and disavowed any responsibility. My a/c system now has multible leaks throughout , and is going to cost me 10,000 or more to replace the system

Overall, it went very well. However, they lost my original appointment time and were several hours late arriving.

I don't want to say anything too bad about the technician, but he gave me a lot of false information. (While he tried to be helpful.) E. g. he said you don't need a permit to work on electrical circuit in your own house. He even suggested that if I don't have a good ground at a receptacle, I can just "ground to neutral". When I pointed out that that is not up to code, he said "it will work". He also said that the (perfectly intact) mercury switch in my thermostat is poisoning me, because the mercury vapors can escape. There is no evidence of any danger of intact mercury switches. These are just two of the numerous weird/wrong/unsubstantiated claims he made during the visit. I think he did the (routine) job right, but the conversations we had made me question his overall competence.

It went GREAT. Tim from Aire Serv showed up on time and got right to work. He was very skilled at his job. Tim explained what the issues were, and showed me the problem with the part of the unit that was in my attic. He went above and beyond. Will use this company in the fall to get my furnace ready for the winter.

went great. purchased 2 big deals, but we have 3 systems. so we paid extra to clean the 3rd furnace. i thought we had 2.

CO2 detector quit working a week later. Never called for a replacement since, if one is bad, usually the whole manufacturing lot has problems.

I called Air Serv and told them that our air conditioner was getting our house cool but seemed to be taking a longer time than normal to do so. I told them that Joel had told us in Nov. 2014 when he came out that he thought we had a possible leak in our system. Joel came to our house again last Wednesday (4-15-15) to check for a leak and clean our air conditioner. He told me right away that there was a leak on a coil. He continued cleaning our air conditioner so I figured that he would just add more refrigerant to our system. When Joel was finished cleaning the system he told me that there was no refrigerant in our air conditioner. Joel said since we had ran our air conditioner for a few days this spring it was possible that acid and water had been pulled in our system. He said it would cost $2000 to make repairs and get our system running efficiently again but he wouldn't recommend putting that much money into a 11 year old air conditioner. Joel recommended replacing our air conditioning system. Joel asked me if we had discussed the charges. I said "No". The charges Joel quoted me were the same as the charges the receptionist on the phone quoted me but the receptionist who answered the phone said there would be a $69.95 diagnostic fee and the cleaning charge would be $119.00. Joel should have diagnosed the problem and told me what the repair cost would be before cleaning the system. I wouldn't have told him to clean the system if he would have told me at the beginning that he would recommend the air-conditioning system be replaced because the repair charges would be $2000. Now we have a clean disconnected air conditioner that will have to be disposed.

No problems, we scheduled, they showed up on time and completed the work.

Was very thorough in explaining to me what he was doing, and what I should do in the future to keep the unit running smoothly. He also looked at my furnace as a courtesy. He was on time and very professional, and he also gave me tips on how to save money on my air conditioning bills in the future (such as putting a dehumidifier in my house, who knew? Never even thought of that!)

I don't know if I would use them again but it's alright, I guess. He gave me a bid for replacing a unit and it's like $8000.

It was great. He performed the inspection and gave us a sheet saying that the furnace was in good working oder. He didn't try to sell me services I didn't need. I will use Aire Serv again, and am keeping my eye out for a similar deal for AC units.

Tech found a freyed belt during the process and replaced it for an additional cost. I was surprised that he never mentioned the blinking lights on the thermostat. The 30+ year old furnace made it through the winter without other incident.

Joel was excellent! He thoroughly cleaned both furnaces, noticed the humidifiers were not set up properly so reconnected those, fixed miscellaneous parts and correctly diagnosed our intermittently working furnace by installing a new circuit board. He also fixed a furnace leak that had been repaired by another company twice and explained why what they did was not working. He worked with our homebuyers warranty company which took a lot of time (we had hired Aire Serv without knowing they were in network and would have used them regardless) and was quick to get to us when we were without heat during cold weather. We would highly recommend them!

After getting a new furnace installed, we noticed the humidity levels in our house were really low. So we decided to purchase a whole house humidifier. We had Aire Serv do some servicing at our house before and were very happy. So we decided to purchase the deal they had to install the whole house humidifier. I was very impressed with the technician (Kirk) who was at our house. He walked me through the options of where to put the humidifier and discussed the process and time required to get it installed. He took his time to make sure the work was done right, and that the humidifier was working and doing what it is supposed to do. After the installation was complete there were no hidden charges or fees, and he was on his way. Again, I was very impressed by Aire Serv and the quality of personnel.
