Service rep came and immediately found the problem. A/C needed freon. After defrosting the coils, he installed the freon and he was so nice and informative that I signed up for a yearly service contract!

We won't use this outfit again--they aren't local and you can't ask any questions of them without paying for a service call. The manuals that were left for us don't include the model installed in our home. Based on models in the manual we apparently got the cheap version.

Everything went very smoothly. The service representative was very knowledgable and provided me with good information about my a/c unit. He made a thorough inspection and gave me good advice about servicing/replacing the unit due to its age (20+) years. The service man arrived on time, called ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. He was very thorough when cleaning the unit, showed me the proper way to install the filters, and also mentioned that I needed to reposition my carbon monoxide unit. He reviewed everything that he cleaned and was very courteous.

The technicians are professional and courteous. As with my AC inspection in the spring, I had to call the company back to fix something that the first technician messed up. The company was very reasonable and eager to fix their mistake, for which I was grateful, but would have preferred for the job to be done fully and completely the first time.

A little over a year ago I purchased a Big Deal with Aire Serv to be my new heating and air maintenance company. I was with another company for several years and was always getting pushed farther and farther back in time for my regular maintenances as well as dealing with very poor customer relations. They were often late, never called first as was requested, missed appointments, didn't return phone calls and even after they sent me a survey and I filled it out negatively, they never contacted me. So I was excited to see the Big Deal that Aire Serv was offering and I have been so happy with their services. When they called to schedule my fall maintenance I explained that I would prefer an earlier date such as October and told them my complaints with the other company pushing my date back each year. She cheerfully told me she could have someone out tomorrow, if that was convenient, and that she would make a note to schedule appts. earlier in the year. I was very happy. When Shane arrived he recalled being here before, and we laughed at remembering that when he came for my spring cleaning I had a HUGE beetle on my porch, about the size of a golf ball and not wanting it killed, Shane was good enough to capture it and escort it our farther into the yard...now that's service. Shane is professional, respectful and knowledgeable. He even answered a few unrelated questions for me. I am so pleased with Aire Serv in general and Shane Rafferty in particular that I hope to keep a working relationship with them for a long time.
Description of Work: This was my regular fall heater cleaning and check-up. I pay $189.00 for my yearly maintenance, which entitles me to a spring and fall cleaning and check-up as well as discounts for appointments and repairs, if needed, throughout the year.

Technician arrived as scheduled and performed a Fall check and cleaning of the heating system. Also corrected a problem with the humidifier which was dripping water onto the floor. Technician adjusted water flow to proper strength which eliminated it spraying incorrectly. This is the second service call performed by Aire Serv. The prior one was in the Spring when the A/C was cleaned and adjusted for the coming summer. We will certainly renew the service contract

I just purchased a home. I figured it would be best to have the heating system looked at for potential issues. I purchased an Angie's List coupon for a 21 pt Heating system check. There was no pain getting time setup. Shane which was the service technician who came to do service was prompt and polite. He did a thorough check of my furnace and heating system. He said my system was in great working order and did not see any issues. He explained how the system worked, warning signs, and common issues that can occur in a system. He was not pushy or complain about the fact my attention was sometimes diverted by other contractors I had coming in for other work. He did talk about other preventive maintenance programs that Aire Serv did offer, but was not pushy or try to use scare tactics to get me to purchase extras. Overall he was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely call Shane and AireServ up if I have any HVAC issues in the future. Just hoping I will not have too. I do plan on have them look at the AC in the spring.

The person I spoke with on the phone was not very informative. She just wanted me to schedule a date to have them come out and put the tool in my home. I just paid close to $700 so I needed more information and she made me feel uncomfortable for asking questions. I asked them to mail me info and then I called them back and scheduled an appointment for one of their people to come out and explain what they were going to do. I had a medical emergency and had to cancel that appointment. I did some research and found that what they were going to put in is something that can fit into the palm of your hand and there is no way to check to see if it actually works. I decided to call and get refunded.

Member. I apolgize for your poor experience and ask "What can we do to make it right". Your experience has caused us to add training for our team answering the phone on how to better direct your call. However, it would be impractical, to have the person answering the phone capable of answering technical questions on every product we sell. Also, I'm not sure what you researched, but the device will fit in a very large shoe box, but would not fit in the palm of your hand. Last but not least, we do have a method to verify the effectiveness of the equipment. It requires indoor air testing before, and again 30 days after installation. Since we offer a 100% money back gaurantee, most customers do not request this testing. I know first hand that these products work, as I have an asthmatic son that received great benefits from the installation in my home. We are so confident in the effectiveness of these units, that we will be happy to install the unit for FREE for 30 days and let you decide if has any benefit for you. If you decide to keep it, you can pay the Angie's list price. If you feel you receive no benefit, we will remove it and you owe nothing. Description of Work: Our HVAC was standing in water and the filter kept getting wet. He did some adjustments and advised us to get a cheaper brand of filter because the HVAC unit was about 15 years old and the newer filters wouldn't work even though they were more expensive.

Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for approximatly $99.00 for inspection and service plan which I had with another company that I was not happy with. They came out performed the servicing of my heater and replaced a cap of some sort for an additional $69.14. They again contacted me and made an appointment to come out on 4/16/2012 for my spring maintance for the air conditioner, no other issues were found and now I am awaiting their call for my fall service.

Initially there was a mix up on meeting time that was worked out by rescheduling. We started out wanting service on an old air condition unit. In weighing the cost of repairs, we thought it was most cost effective to replace the unit. The service guy did not try to influence us one way or the other to repair or buy new. He gave the diagnosis. We made a decision to replace and upgrade the unit. Initially we were going to pay cash,but we could get free financing for 6 or 12 mths. Through no-fault of Aire, we misunderstood a fine point and didn't care for the financial company used, we paid the bill in full. Great credit didn't seem to matter. They were quick to transition from repair mode to replacement mold. They were willing if necessary, to have the unit installed on Saturday at no extra cost. The worker was professional and mannerable. They placed the the new unit exactly where the old one was placed, but did not pass inspection. Promptly when the inspector told them what was required, the adjustment was made ( x amount of inches were required to clear the unit).
Description of Work: Discussed the unit to be serviced. The diagnosis was consistent with other companies. We also went through a financial institute they used. Compare prices and reputation of companies. Put on your thinking cap, saving a few bucks initially may not save you in long run. Be prepared as possible for the possibility of purchasing new altogether. Pay attention to payment method, cash or credit. Check out interest rates and finance companies used. When we learned the financial sharks being used, we just paid the price in full. I realize people are not always in position to do so, however, pay attention to interest rates.

They called to confirm the appointment, arrived exactly on time, and got right to work - not an easy thing to do with my HVAC equipment located in the crawl space under my house - and crawl is no exaggeration! The service technician spent approximately 2 hours cleaning and checking the unit. He answered all my questions and mentioned a few options that were available for the future. He also mentioned that the light was back on in the crawl space, which wouldn't have been a big deal if I had known there was a light bulb in there to start with! He had replaced the bulb as opposed to asking me for one. The Spring clean-up took less time and was completed with the same professionalism. The company gave me until this November to renew the same $99 offer, and I am going to do it! The only question I have is in the case I needed to purchase equipment, I do not know how competitive Aire Serv would be. I have no reason to think they would not be competitive, but this is something that has been in the back of my mind. Knock on wood, there seem to be no immediate problems. I would highly recommend this vendor.

The job went very well. The crew arrived on time at approximately 9:00 AM. They were professional, courteous, and neat. They put tarps down on the carpeted areas of the basement and up the stairs. The new compressor was placed on a new pad which was leveled and adjusted to fit into the landscaping. They even brought in extra landscaping rock to make it look better, which I considered to be above and beyond expectations. At all stages of the installation they were meticulous and careful. It was obvious that they were well trained both technically and in the importance of getting the small details right. They had a little bit of trouble wiring the humidifier because it was a newer design, but they took the time to get it right and they tested it before they left. They cleaned up after themselves, put all furniture back where it was, and disposed off all of their trash. I didn't find a single piece of trash or scrap of wire anywhere. I couldn't have been more pleased with the whole experience. I would definitely use Aire Serv again, and would recommend them to friends.
Description of Work: Removed and disposed of the old furnace and air conditioning system including the compressor outside. Installed new furnace, "A" coil, bypass humidifier, thermostat and compressor. All of the new equipment was installed, wired, and tested. Proper operation of the equipment was explained.

I highly recommend AireServ (Louisville) for any HVAC work you may need!!! The installation didn't go perfectly smooth, but that just allowed us to better see what kind of company we were dealing with. Everyone who worked with us was exceptional. Richard, Richard and Danny demonstrated extreme professionalism, and convinced us that they cared very much about our problems, our health and our comfort. Richard provided us with a variety of detailed options for replacement systems. He then worked with us to come up with a system that meets our comfort needs as well as our checkbook. The installation took about 2 days due to the unique challenges presented. The technician was excellent about giving us periodic status updates. At NO point were we left in the dark. These guys are passionate about what they do. They strive to provide excellent service and products.

My husband and I called Aire Serv after we picked up one of their brochures (at Home Depot). Linda Mudd came out and gave us an estimate the next day. She was very curteous and professional. They quoted us a price that was affordable. Two days later the technicians arrived and installed our new AC. Hooray!!!! We highly recommend this company.
