serviceman sold me on leak stop material to fix ac leak. he made the repair and charged $612. two days later the system went out again. I found the leak in outdoor unit. They sent another tech out to fix it. I asked for refund for fix that did not work. they called back and said I had experienced a new leak miraculously two days later. I contested the claim and refused to pay an additional $285 for the actual repair. I signed for the repair but they did not provide a receipt. Four weeks later they sent a letter stating they are putting a lien on my house until I pay. I have worked for a refrigerator company for 25 years. This company is conning consumers. they faked the leak stop repair to get a second service call. do not trust them

Installation went smoothly however soon after a problem developed. Mark and the others at Air Comfort responded very well. It took several service calls (winter weather was a problem) to analyze and identify the problem. Each time they came out the Air Comfort techs were very friendly and professional. Once the problem was located a very satisfactory solution was provided. We're very pleased with Air Comfort of KY and will recommend them highly.

[Member name removed] has a home warranty which he used when he needs repairs on his heat and a/c system. Air Comfort is a service agent for this home warranty company. [Member name removed] has not contracted with Air comfort to perform any work. The process is for the home owner to call the warranty company and place a claim. The warranty company then issues a work order to a service agency. The servicer then makes repairs, collects the deductible from the home owner, and then bill the balance to the warranty company just like going to the doctor. Normal home owners will say they a home warranty when they call for service if that is what they are going to use. At the first off May this year we made a repair (bad capacitor) to [member name removed]’s a/c and advised him that it was very dirty, needed cleaning. [Member name removed] had no water available to use in cleaning the unit. Four days later [Member name removed] advised that he had water available and so we returned to clean the unit and then charged it with freon, and repaired a leaking Schrader valve (the cause of the low freon condition). At the end of August [Member name removed] called us and scheduled a service call on his a/c. We ran the service call and found the system low on freon. We performed a leak detection test and found the evaporator coil had developed a leak (new problem, #3 all total). We offered a price on replacing the coil at which point [Member name removed] announced that he still had a home warranty, wasn’t paying for anything, and wasn’t going to call in for a work order. He then used a variety of expletive and “f” bombs (we record our calls) to try to intimidate us into making the repairs immediately and for free. When that didn’t work he said he was going to write nasty things about our company everywhere he could. [Member name removed] evidently developed a personal relationship with the first tech (they lived a couple houses apart) that serviced his home because he repeatedly told me that the tech had been there three times in May yet we only have two service tickets. Maybe as a favor he was able to get some other repair done for free. I question this as [Member name removed] told me that the first tech told him the freon was $100/lb. We have never charged that for freon. Furthermore, [Member name removed]s’ other statements such as the second tech saying the first tech was in prison for drugs, me saying that we would not honor the home warranty, etc. are also not true. He did call the home warranty company to get a work order issued and a diagnosis turned in to them. As of 9.4.13 he shopping around and trying to decide if he wants to have the home warranty company repair the a/c or take their buy out offer. It would appear the urgency of making the repair has greatly diminished as he wrote his first complaint on 8.23.13 and our weather has not significantly cooled. If anyone takes the time to evaluate our long term track record of customer service I think they will find nothing like what is represented here. That might lead to questioning other things in [Member name removed]’s statement.

I have used this company three times since I moved here. I had no experience with HVAC units. The technician came out and explained how a heat pump worked and gave it a tuneup. Several months later, in hot weather the air conditioning gave out. The guy was there very soon and found it was a capacitor that failed. He had the part right on the truck and fixed it in a short time. This company has a nice money saving offer on two yearly tuneups, and sends reminders via email. The employees are uniformed, courteous and willing to explain things. The truck was super clean! Air Comfort is what service providers should be, getting the job done without hassles.

Since our house is over 80 years old, it does not have central air and we had boiler heat in the original part of the house only. We had to buy space heaters last year for those rooms without radiators and this summer we only had one window unit in the family room to keep us cool. Air Comfort came out and looked at our situation. Since we didn't have existing duct work, putting in central air and heat was not an option for us because we did not want the walls and ceilings torn up to put in ducts. So Air Comfort recommended the Mitsibushi Mini Split option. They explained it to us and worked out where all the units would be installed in order to give us the functionality we need. They made the whole process easy with their professionalism. We are extremely happy with the work and service they provided.

Description of Work: I had to replace an old heating and air system in my home in St. Matthew's. I got estimates from five different companies and I felt like Air Comfort was the one for me. It is a family owned business and the lady that comes to your home, Cynthia, is the owner's daughter. She is a sharp lady and inspected my old system and home much more thoroughly than any of the other companies. You could tell that she had a vested interest in performing an excellent job. Air Comfort was not the cheapest estimate but they were not the most expensive either. I could have gone with a standard brand but since Carrier is the best and my old one lasted 37 years I decided to go with it again. It is a major investment and I did not want to go with the cheapest system available. The men who installed the units were professional and did a great job and left the basement cleaner than it was when they got there. I feel like I have made a great choice.

THE LEAK WAS IN THE ATTIC LIKE I TOLD 2 PEOPLE ALREADY AT THE COMPANY , They ruined the ceiling that I just paid 265-00 to repair and the water was coming out of the ceiling fan !!! Also never told me price before went and got the tubing and when I went over after work at 11-30 am I saw where he almost knocked my new ceiling down and put a HOLE IN THE CLOSET AFTER I TOLD HIM THE TRAP DOOR WAS IN THE OTHER BED ROOM !! SATISFIED ???THIS COMPANY OWES ME A NEW CEILING ,FAN AND THE PROPER TUBING FOR THE CONDENSATION AND TO CHARGE 62-00 FOR A problem that I TOLD THEM WHAT WAS NEEDED !!!!! OH ! AND I WAS RIGHT IN THE PROBLEM , AND I FEEL THE PARTS THEY PUT IN COME FROM A CUT RATE STORE When I saw the damage they did after I left I called the company and left a message on their machine to have a supervisor at the house at 10.30am THIS JOB ISN'T OVER AND WILL TAKE AT LEAST 2-3 WEEKS TO RESOLVE THIS IS A HOUSE THAT I HAVE A RENTER TO MOVE IN BUT THAT WON'T HAPPEN EITHER UPDATE: 9/12/11 - Mark, the owner, and a guy named Mike, came over to do work this morning. Mark said that the holes that his coworker made were already there. He was basically saying that they didn’t do that damage. They asked who put in the furnace, and pointed out flaws with that installation. He was scrutinizing other peoples work when his was bad as well. He said he was not trying to bash other peoples work, but he kept pointing out other flaws and saying that he didn’t do it. This just made me feel very uncomfortable. With the work that they did do, they did not clean up well afterwards. He gave me a bill, and there was a diagnostic charge on it. They said earlier that they would take that off. I thought he was very unprofessional, and was intimidating towards me with his questions. He was trying to defend his employees, which I understand, but some things I know they did. When he gave me a receipt to sign, I did not sign it, and put “refused to sign due to dispute”. When I asked for a copy, he said he said that I would get one upon paying. and turned and WALKED OUT !! and last but not least the response of me and the so called proffessional tech named John was not accurate at all and I wonder if I had not gone over there that nite would they have CALLED ME AND TOLD ME ALL THIS HAD HAPOENED ?? I ALSO FOGOT TO MENTION THAT THE MESS THEY CREATED FROM THE CEILING THAT THERE ARE PICS OF WAS NOT CLEANED UP AND THE BOARDS HE RIPPED OFF WERE NOT PUT BACK IN PLACE UNTILL THE REPAIRMAN CAME OVER TO REPAIR THEIR SHODDY JOB !!! AND THE JOB WAS PAID IN FULL AFTER THE BILL WAS RECIEVED
Description of Work: I told Paula and Cynthia that I needed new condensation line ran in the ATTIC !!! which after My Excellent drywall man that put a ceiling in that he had found the reason the ceiling had fallen due to this leaking condensation line that was ran in the attic . A technician by the name of John came over to see what the job consists of .He called me AFTER he said he couldn't find leak HE LOOKED AT THE UNIT ONLY When he called me finally on my cell phone EVEN THOUGH I told them to call my house phone till 1-00pm and that is what I I told Paula and Cynthia and when I went There to see what was going on . the water was coming out of the ceiling fan but he said it wasn't that much ! HE PUT 4 BOTTLES OF 12 OZ BOTTLES IN THE TUBE AND TURNED THE AC ON TO SEE IF IT LEAKED !!! !! I IT DIDN'T BECAUSE THE LEAK WAS IN THE ATTIC LIKE I TOLD 2 PEOPLE ALREADY AT THE COMPANY , They ruined the ceiling that I HAD just paid 265-00 to repair Also never told me pric e before went and got the tubing and when I went over after work at 11-30 am I saw where he almost knocked my new ceiling down and put a HOLE IN THE CLOSET AFTER I TOLD HIM THE TRAP DOOR WAS IN THE OTHER BED ROOM !! Response from Air Comfort of KY
Air Comfort would like to respond to the complaint that has been brought against our company. We were hired by the client to fix a condensate line leak that was somewhere in the attic of a rental property. The client was not able to tell our dispatcher anything more specific than “in the attic” when scheduling the service call. The tech did not use good judgment when he pumped water through the system as a means of finding the leak. We have accepted responsibility for this. The leak was found as water started dripping through the ceiling. At this time the homeowner shows up to the location and is mad at the sight of the water leaking. We again acknowledge this and accept our responsibility for the damage. The homeowner proceeds to grab our technician by the shoulders and starts yelling at him and shaking him. The homeowner then grabs the arm of our technician and drags him down the hallway. The homeowner’s behavior was erratic and he could not be reasoned with. The homeowner made our technician feel threatened and the tech decided it was best for him to leave the premises. The technician chose to file assault charges against this homeowner. The court date is pending. The Residential Comfort Specialist (RSC) scheduled an appointment to meet with the homeowner later that day to access the damage done and make arrangements for repairs. The homeowner’s behavior again was erratic. The RSC accepted responsibility for the damage and told the homeowner that Air Comfort would cover all costs for repairs. Once there was an agreement reached between the RSC and the homeowner, the RSC moved toward the front door to leave. The homeowner then tried to take pictures of the RSC. The RSC responded that she did not want her picture taken, the homeowner continued to try and take a picture. The homeowner stated that the picture was just for “his own personal use”. The RSC chose not to file sexual harassment charges. The next day the general manager met the homeowner at the property to check out possible water damage to a ceiling fan that homeowner stated was brand new and would have to be replaced. After removing the escutcheon and blades from the fan, the body was lowered from the ceiling for examination. When the spider webs and dust were removed from the body the manufacturer’s production tag was visible showing that the fan had been built in March of 2007. When this was pointed out to the homeowner he stopped saying that it was a brand new fan. The fan was examined for damage and tested for operation. The homeowner observed all of this and agreed that the fan was OK. We next went to look at the access hole that the homeowner claimed had been cut into his ceiling by the tech. There were four 1x4 boards that had made a frame around this opening and held the access cover. The tech had removed the boards to gain additional clearance through the hole as the opening was smaller than required by code and he couldn’t fit even though he is a slender guy. You could see where the ceiling and the boards had been painted but the sheetrock under the boards was still white and had not been painted, we have pictures to support this. The homeowner still contended that he had owned the house for 30 years, there had never been a hole in this spot, and he had no idea where the boards went or how the perimeter of the hole had not been painted the same color as the ceiling and the boards. Then he decided that we didn’t have to pay to have this hole repaired. We offered again to make this repair even if it was not our responsibility and he accepted. In other conversation earlier that morning it sounded like he might be getting ready to sell the house and I had noticed that neither the water heater nor the furnace had stickers indicating that they had passed local inspection. The inspection is the last step in the process of pulling a permit (required in our city) when replacing this equipment. The lack of inspection stickers is typical of work done by unlicensed contractors and there is now a fine imposed on the homeowner, by the city, when this situation is found in the process of a sale. I advised the homeowner of this and offered that he might was to get them inspected before selling, he seemed to be uncomfortable with this information so I let it drop. Air Comfort has had all damages repaired by a contractor chosen by the home owner. These were completed within 5 days of the incident. We have taken responsibility for the damage we did and paid to have it corrected. The house is back to “pre incident” condition. We are not sure what else to do to satisfy this homeowner as we are not used to dealing with people that conduct themselves as this one has done.
