Description of Work: I called and was able to schedule an appointment for the same day, with a 2-hour time block for arrival--12:00 to 2:00. The repairman called around 1:50 to let me know he was on the way and would be here a little late because of drive time. When he arrived I told him what was broken and he went straight to work. Within 20 minutes he had diagnosed the problem with both my oven and ice maker, but he had to order the parts so he couldn't fix either that day. He told me they use a standard rate price system, like auto dealerships, and that they charge $125 flat rate labor for each appliance, but could give me $50 off that since I had two appliances. So to replace the heating element in the oven and the electronic eye for the ice maker would run me $430. I thought that was pretty high, but I would have had to pay him a service fee if I didn't have him make the repairs which would add to the cost of having someone else come out, so what are you going to do? I had him fix the appliances. He ordered the parts and set an appointment to return the next day at the same time. He called at 1:30 and asked if I would mind if he stopped and ate lunch before he came to my house, and he would be there by 2:30. I agreed; no big deal. He arrived around 3:00 and had the repairs completed within 30 minutes. There flat rate labor cost me $200 for 30 minutes of work--pretty high in my opinion. The repairman was courteous; knowledgeable; and communicated well on arrival times, needed repairs and cost estimates. Although they seemed high to me, I don't know what others charge. Next time I will probably call someone else to check prices before I have repairs done. Other than the cost, I was pleased with the service performed.

I had kind of a bad experience getting my washer and dryer fixed. They said that they would not come back. The timer was working. It's an old set but they charged me for a call and fixed the washer. Then they charged me for another call and fixed the dryer instead of doing both of them at the same time. And then when I called and told them that I have to time the washing machine on my stove timer because the timer is gone, she said, "Oh that will be $300." I said, "Well, I can't afford that" and I said, "It worked before the man worked on it. But now since the man worked on it, it doesn't work anymore." So I blame them for doing that. I thought he was doing great but I've got a washer that won't even work and they want another $300. So I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. If a friend asks me I'd say, "Oh no. Stay away from them. Those guys are crooks" because they charged me that $170 and then they charged me another $100 before that. They dawdled around and didn't get it finished and I said, "Oh I see what you're doing." I said, "What it is, you wanted two service charges out of it." They said, "Oh no mam, no mam. We don't do that." and it's exactly what they were doing. I'm a little old lady living alone and so I'm just a target. I find that with any car repairs or any house repairs. What can I do? I don't know if they're telling me a lie or not. The price on the face of it is no more than anybody else. But the thing is the way they fix one thing and don't fix another then they get two charges out of it. It's the way they do it. When they come in, the price is just like anybody else's but then they keep coming back. They'll have to charge again to fix it and fix it and fix it. That's where I stand right now. They want another service call to fix what I think they broke. I can't prove it because I don't know that much about it. But it worked just fine before they started fooling with it and when they got through with it, it broke. So it's not anything you can really catch them for. To me they're sneaky and I would tell my best friend, "Don't get mixed up with them." I thought they were doing a good job on it. I thought they were quick and efficient and they were. They were quick and efficient and ran out without fixing it. Then I said, "Did you check the washer?" I said, "That's what I originally called you, about the washer." "Oh yes mam. Yes mam. We checked and it's running fine." I tried to put a load of wash in there and it wouldn't work. Then I had to make another call. So that's another $100. Ever since they did that, the timer won't work and so they're wanting $300, which I don't have. And she said, "Can't you just use the stove timer?" and I said, "I guess that's what I'll have to do." As a matter of fact, it went through my mind to turn them in to the Better Business Bureau. They took money under false pretenses. They didn't play fair with me. They did it in such a way that you can't really get to them because that's exactly what happened.
