I was very happy with the whole experience with Ben. I stayed with him during the entire inspection and he always explained what he was looking at and why it mattered. He was also very good at explaining which problems were minor, which needed to be monitored and which could be potential deal-breakers. I also liked his use of technology: he used thermal imaging to see which areas of the house were under-insulated, he also used a moisture detection device to test for leaking that wasn't visible. (and of course, he took pictures of everything) When the inspection was over I explained to Ben that we needed the report quickly because were nearing the end of our inspection time frame in the purchase contract. He completely understood and wrote it up and sent it to us that evening. Ben was friendly, punctual and very good at explaining things. I would definitely recommend him.

Very thorough, helpful, responsive. He made clear he was committed to being an independent inspector and ethical contractor. We hired him to do an inspection for house were were purchasing. Very helpful explaining the issues, and responding to our questions in follow-up. His inspection saved us a lot of money and hassle.

My wife and I are first time homebuyers who needed a thorough home inspection prior to closing. We were looking for someone who would take the time to walk us through the house during the inspection, educate us, and of course, identify problems. I contacted Ben about a week prior to the inspection because of the reviews on Angie's List. What a great choice! He calls back/responds to emails promptly. He arrived early that day and was enthusiastic about his job. Ben is professional and easy to talk to. We climbed on the roof and he pointed out defects in the roof's drainage system, shingles, and chimney. He used a moisture meter, a Star Trek-like device that determines air leaks, and a flashlight inside the house. He comes prepared to look for defects, safety hazards, and potential long-term problems with the house. He answered all of our questions in terms that we could understand. He seemed very focused on every room and outside area he inspected. The inspection lasted about 6 hours with no breaks - like a house inspection marathon! It was awesome! At the end, we felt comfortable knowing what needed to be fixed before move-in, after move-in, or as needed. We also felt more empowered when bringing forth these issues to the sellers and renegotiating with them. We highly recommend ABI for a pre-closing home inspection.

I was looking for someone I could trust to do an honest inspection of a home I wanted to purchase. I was amazed at how thorough the report was and the measures that had to be taken in freezing temperatures to get those details. I had a lot of questions and Ben took the extra time to go into detail, making sure I was comfortable. He even gave me tips for what to look for during a walk through of any future homes I may want to purchase. I have already recommended ABI to others who were looking for an inspector they could trust. I will be using them again.

He checked the motar in the wall, then he was checking the pipes when he noticed water running down the wall, it stopped and then when we flushed the toilet the water ran down the wall again we flushed it about 3 times and the water ran down each time. He said it was a crack in the sewer pipe. He showed us pictures and video of it. He offered to checked with a friend to see if he had a camera to put through the pipe to see how bad the crack was.

Ben was right on time and walked me through everything during the inspection and schooled me on what to look for and remedies. Ben is very knowlegeable and has a great passion for his work. I highly recommend using ABI....you wont regret it.

When I spoke to Ben at ABI over the phone he seemed very knowledgeable. He was a little more expensive than some of the others that i had called, but I liked how he answered my questions thoroughly without making me feel stupid. He spent several hours at the home performing the inspection. He walked my wife and I through each room of the house pointing out problem areas. At no point did we feel rushed, and Ben made sure that he had answered all of our questions satisfactorily before moving on to the next part of the house. He emailed a copy of the report to us the same day and we were incredibly impressed with the level of detail provided. It was very thorough, including photos, and descriptions of each area that would need work. We were able to purchase our home for $8,000 less than what we had originally offered based on Ben's inspection. I highly recommend Ben and ABI home inspection.

Looking to purchase a piece of property for our son to live in close to college. Inspection revealed so much that we couldn't see. Saved us from a bad investment! Very thorough written report. Very pleased with his detailed work.

I had no idea that you could hire someone to look at your home before you bought it.... Seriously. My dad told me to look into an inspector, so I googled it and found ABI with some good reviews. I called them up and talked to Ben about the home I was looking to buying. He was very thorough right off the bat. Asking me questions about the home that I honestly couldn't answer. He seemed like a very knowlegeable guy, which put me at ease. We set up a date and the next thing I know this guy shows up at the house with all kinds of stuff. This guy had an insane ammount of tools. I was expecting an old dude with a clipboard and a hard hat. Not the case at all. Ben climbed up on the roof, took outlet panels off walls, and even broke out some kind of thermal imaging camera that made him look like a member of the Ghostbusters. It was cool. In a day or so I had a report the size of a small novel in my hands that detailed every tiny little thing about the house. Pictures and all. I was impressed. Bottom line, ABI was critical in the purchase of our home. We were able to take the report, get estimates from contractors, and drastically effect the final cost of the home.

I am a contractor in Massachusetts but my mother was debating purchasing a rental property near her home in Louisville. I couldn't make it down so we hired Ben to do an inspection. The report he produced was amazing! Very descriptive explanations of all the issues he found (there were a lot of issues with this particular property) and multiple photos for each. Not only did he produce an incredibly thorough report but he took the time to walk through the property with my mother and answer all her questions. Can't recommend enough, great to work with!

Ben seemed knowledgeable and his inspection seemed complete. He emailed my report the same night. The report included pictures and descriptions of problems and possible problems he found.

his company was the most professional, honest and provided an incredibly detailed report for us on a home we were considering. They told us what we needed to know if order to make an informed decision and then made themselves available to us for further questions if we had them. This will be our 'go to' company in the future for any audits, inspections we need.

There are a lot of home inspectors to choose from. I hired Ben at ABI because he had many testimonials from former customers who raved about his thoroughness and professionalism. After Ben inspected a potential home for my family, I can now write my own. First, Ben was quick to respond to my call, and we set up an appointment in just a couple of days. Not only was he on time to the inspection, he beat me to the property. He was extremely friendly, energetic, and ready to get started. As Ben inspected the home, he pointed out what he was finding and took the time to explain the issues in great detail. He provided the report the same day as the inspection. Some inspectors say they provide a report on-site. Ben takes the time necessary after the inspection to create a much better report than you can get immediately. It was full of pictures of all the issues along with descriptions, which simplified the process of working with the sellers on repairs. I highly recommend ABI to anyone.
