The vender was notified mid-week, and was able to come out that Friday. The initial visit determined what the problem. Because the technician did not have the part, he had to get the part and scheduled the appointment the following Tuesday 2/2. First: The company call and notified me the date and approximate time the technician would arrive. On the date of the service the company called and advised me that the technician was on the way. Second: The technician arrived on time with the part needed, had the dryer working in a very short time after arrival. Third: This was handled very professional manner, and it was a pleasure doing business with this company, and I would highly recommended them to anyone. GREAT JOB
Description of Work: A fuse on the dryer had gone out, and would not allow the dryer to get hot. The vender replaced the fuse.

This was an overall positive experience during a time of the year when a broken dryer really adds to already high stress levels. Thanks to their timely service, we were able to have a working dryer by Christmas week. In addition, the "Angie's Deal" for this service was a great one!
Description of Work: Provider sent technician to household in a timely fashion. Technician provided a quick and accurate diagnosis. Returned a week later to repair the problem with the correct parts.

I could not figure out why this would be so difficult to do but I was wrong. The entire inside of the freezer (mine is a bottom freezer) had to come out including the walls. i could never have done this on my own. This took a bit of time and hassle to do. My repairman, Ted, was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what he was doing. Considering the time involved not to mention 2 trips I felt like it was a very good deal. 125 was the actual price, not what i paid. I had paid 55 dollars for 100 dollars worth of repair. so I only owed another 25 when the job was done. Total REAL money paid...80.00. Yes, I would use them again even without the groupon.
Description of Work: Had a leaking refridgerator. Repair person made two trips. First one to evaluate the problem. Turned out to be a clogged drain. Had to turn off fridge overnight to defrost ice buildup from leak hence the second trip.

Every experience I have had with this company has been very pleasant! I found them through an Angie's list deal and they have made return customers out of us. We found a "too good to be true deal" on a good model french-door fridge on Craigslist and a few months later the freezer would not stop freezing over. The tech knew the problem right away and months later we have had no problems at all--runs like a dream! While he was here I also asked him to replace the drain pump on the washer that I had been putting off doing myself for weeks because working on stacked units is such a pain. He made it look easy and it was worth the $95 (I think? including the part) to have it out of my hair.
Description of Work: Installed a new control board in french door fridge and a new drain pump in front loading washer.

The good: * Arrived on time * Accurately diagnosed the problem The bad: * The technician said the part that I needed was no longer being manufactured and I would have to find it on ebay or something. He said he would come back and install it once if I was able to find it somewhere. * I made several attempts over two weeks to have the provider tell me what the what the part number was. I was promised a call back on several occasions and never received the calls or the part number. * I was finally able to get in touch with the office manager. When I explained my frustration and the lack of professionalism at the two week delay and the failure to call me back as promised, she didn't even apologize but got a bit "firm" with me instead. * The office manager did call me back the next day to give me a part number. After looking online at the part number, it was clear to me that it was the wrong part number. * I called back two days later and spoke to another woman at the shop who called me back the same day with the correct part number. * After research on the internet, it was clear to me that the part number they gave me was discontinued but that there was another part that was available that would work. * After calling back the office manager and asking her to confirm that the other part number would work, she again said she would contact the technician and call me back. I have not heard from her since. I did end up buying the alternate part, installed it myself, and the fridge is working fine. Overall, not a good experience. :(

Aaron was prompt, professional and friendly. For what more could one ask?
Description of Work: Washer wouldn't spin. Aaron tried the "cheap fix" but ultimately didn't work. He came back, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and returned in 5 days to fix the machine. The part was ridiculously expensive but in line with what the internet said it would be.

We were having trouble with our washing machine and purchased a deal through Angie's List for AAble Appliance Service. They contacted us promptly and scheduled an appointment. The technician arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem and provided an estimate for the repair. The purchased deal didn't cover the entire cost, but we were satisfied with the total cost and the service provided.

Aaron arrived within the time window. He immediately found the problem and fixed it within an hour. Aaron even had the part that might have been replaced had it been necessary. I had an Angies List coupon so the total charge was $8.00. I tried Sears, who told me that my missing serial number would preclude them from even looking at the washer. No parts were necessary, but had they been they were readily available according to the schematic found on the internet. Sears did fix my dryer (why do these things always come together?) but I wonder if they were up-front about the need for a $300 part. Aaron is my new hero!

They were able to get someone out the next day. The guy diagnosed the problem quickly (heating element needed to be replaced), quoted the price (the $49 service call price was applied to the cost of the repair), and replaced the part. The dryer also had a super annoying rattle, so the guy dug out all of the coins and bobby pins the previous owners managed to get stuck in the drum for me while he had the cover off. He didn't have to do that, but because he did, I will definitely give this company my business next time I need an appliance repair.

I had this provider work on my built in refrigerator. I had explained to them that they would need to bring a ladder. When they arrived, they didn't have a ladder and the person was not able to reach the motor. The technician stood on a stool and they did not have the tools necessary to see if the motor was getting any power. He said he would come back the next day. I asked if he could come back in the morning and he said, "I don't do mornings." I called to make an appt and asked about this technician, his statement about not doing mornings and not having the right tools. They sent another technician about a week later and I had a similar situation. They had the proper tools to do the job. They finally determined that the board was getting power but they didn't know what the problem was. They then advised me to contact a certified Maytag dealer. When I called Maytag, they asked me to see if the refrigerator was actually on. I climbed up and looked and found that the refrigerator was not turned on. The Magtag technician brought out the board and determined it was the power control board. The cost between these two providers was quite different. The technicians that AAble had sent out were nice and professional but I was very clear when I called what type of refrigerator I have and I specifically asked if they worked on this type.

Ok, repairman Dave said we needed a fan for the fridge motor, that's why the center post was hot, said one of the blades had fallen off and he re-attached it but said we needed a new fan, and a valve to stop the leak at the bottom. This was on Monday, the next visit was not until Saturday (I don't see why it takes so long to get parts). Well on Wednesday the fridge stops cooling and everything in the fridge goes bad and has to be tossed out. I figure we got an appointment Saturday, no sense in calling now, he'll fix it Saturday. Saturday comes, he takes a look at it and tells me my compressor is kaput, my fridge is a big paper-weight. Not worth it to fix, I'll have to get a new one. So I'm having all this anxiety, thinking, if you'd have come back the next day and fixed it, it would be working now and I wouldn't have to buy a $1500 + fridge now. Luckily though he gave me the number of a guy who does "closed systems" in other words compressors, he said if it's fixable, this guy would know. So I call "Joe" (that's all the company info I got" and it's a wrong #, so I call AAble Appliance and ask them if they have a correct # for "Joe" which they do, it was off by one digit. So I call Joe aka "The Appliance Specialist" one of the few guys in the region certified to work on "Closed Systems" and he calls me back quickly, says will be over in an hour and a half, an hour later he arrives. Takes a look, says good news, not the compressor but the switch that turns the compressor on. And concurs it's the valve causing the leak. So he replaces the switch, replaces the valve, found an additional leak in the water line, and fixed that as well, and got my very expensive fridge up and running in about an hour. No ordering parts, (Including the fan, Joe was able to fix it properly without having to replace that part) no additional visits needed. Cost was $450 but compared to $1500 + for a new fridge I got off easy. And get this, on Monday he actually called me to ask if my fridge is working ok! It was, but I really appreciated the follow up phone call, that just floored me! So AAble Appliance gets a C-, "Joe" The Appliance Specialist" gets an A++
Description of Work: First off I chose AAble Appliance because there was an Angie deal for $100 worth of work for $49.00, All I spent for the two visits was the $49.00 and I'm not really certain that they earned it. Two visits were made, Our fridge had a slow water leak from the bottom and the center post in our side by side seemed very warm to the touch. But the fridge still cooled. So the first visit was to determine what was wrong with my refrigerator. and determine what parts were needed. The second was to install the parts ordered. Things did not go as planned.

Service window was scheduled between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm. Called me about 2:10 pm and arrived at about 2:40 pm which was totally acceptable to me. Entire service was about 90 minutes. Very personable technician and good people skills with good cleanup after the work was done.
Description of Work: Replaced damaged gasket on front loading washing machine with a new one. Rebalanced the washing machine. Cleaned out dryer in places we are unable to do so and where it collects out of our reach, beyond the dryer lint trap and replaced housing clips on dryer.

It took a few days to get an appointment, so "B" for responsiveness. They seemed pretty busy, so I don't hold that against them. The tech was able to arrive early, and Aable called first to let me know, which was nice. So "A" for punctuality. In less than 5 minutes, he diagnosed what the problem was - a bad fuse. 5 minutes after that, he had it changed and the dryer was working. "A" for quality. But then he whipped up a bill for $150, based on what looked like a $10 fuse & 10 minutes of his time. I wasn't sure how much the actual fuse cost, and he had already done the work, so I paid him. The next day, I looked up the fuse, and sure enough, I found that same fuse for $3.89 (you can search Google for Dryer Thermal Fuse - 3392519 (R)). Aable charged me $49.99 for it. Then he added $100 for labor, so I ended up paying him approximately 75% of what the dryer is actually worth. "F" for price. Then I called Aable and talked to someone named Brittany, who said she'd look into it. Never heard back, and the check went through my bank the next day. So I guess they disagreed with my assessment. Honestly I joined Angie's List hoping to interact with companies who wanted to build relationships and long-term customers. But maybe Aable's just has more work than they can handle, so jacking up parts & labor makes sense to them from a cashflow standpoint. Ehhh..more power to em, I guess. "C" overall.

Have received several notices and phone calls about paying bill. Because of the ineffectiveness of service provided, I honestly dont feel I owe payment. However, they are threatening legal action so I am feeling pressure to give in and chalk it up to a bad experience.
Description of Work: Provider came out on weekend at agreed upon price to repair refrigerator ice maker. Repairman speculated on problem though he took nothing apart to diagnose the problem. Repairman stated he had no parts on truck. What was the point of him coming to the house. I would gladly have paid the bill if he had actually done something to iniate service. I have disputed the bill but company insists I owe them for an entirely useless service call. Serviceman left without enlightening me about the problem with my unit. Will never call company again.
