S & S CHIMNEY SWEEP

When I called, a lady answered and I told her I was calling about chimney sweeping. She said that Gary was no longer doing that. That he wasn't making any money because there's not enough work. I thanked her for her time and hung up.

He said that he never put his name on Angie's List.

After purchasing a home with a fireplace and wood burning stove I thought I should have the chimneys cleaned to get ready for winter. I found his name listed in the phone book. I knew I had hired the right person when he arrived. He came fully equipped with everything needed to get the job done. I showed him the chimney first and after he inspected it, he said it had never been used and didn't need to be cleaned. His honesty really impressed me! We went down to the basement and he inspected the flume on the furnace. It wasn't drawing the way it should so he took the flume apart, cleared some debris and put it back in working order. We then went to the wood burning stove, which had been used. He cleaned it and noticed that the flume's position may cause me problems during the initial startup of the fire. He made suggestions on the best way to "fire it up". Knowing that I was new to the area, he made me feel welcome and we talked about what the area offered and the places I would need to know.
