Description of Work: LONG POST WARNING! Necessary to convey what all happened at my place. Wildcat moving was scheduled to move my belongings between 2-5pm on a Sunday afternoon. No walk through for an estimate was ever performed, talked to by phone only. At 5:10 I emailed them to ask for an ETA. Hunter called back a few minutes later to say the crew was on its way back from Louisvillle, so it would be 6:30 -7:00 before they got there. I asked why they were so far behind and was told they were "real busy today and we're running behind, and they'd have to get to me as soon as they could. He said if a crew from Lexington got done earlier he'd send them instead. Sounds to me like they overbook their jobs without a realistic estimate of the time needed. He called back a few minutes later and said that a crew from Lexington was on it way to me. They got there about 6:15. I did a walk through with one of them. They started by telling me that if I wanted insurance to cover any damage to my belongings it would cost $100 extra over the $110 per hour charge, and that the mileage charge for outside Fayette County is $39 flat rate. The initial email confirming the booking said there was no mileage charge inside Fayette County, but that outside Fayette was $1.50 per mile round trip additional. To me that means that ONLY the miles outside Fayette County would be charged extra. Wouldn't you think that? Since my place is 8 miles outside Fayette, the charge should be 16 X $1.50 or $20.00. Instead they insist that the charge is miles FROM THEIR SHOP on Big Run Road. That works out to $39. Since they don't charge mileage inside Fayette County, does it seem strange to anyone else that they charge for those same miles in addition to the miles that lie outside the county? So now I'm already paying for the per hour moving rate $110 times however many hours involved, mileage of $39, insurance of $100, and no idea how long they'll take to move me. They said at 6:30 it would take "well into the night". I assume that means that they plan on taking at least 4-5 hours. It's adding up fast. I moved all my stuff to this address before in just under 3 hours, from farther away. Now comes the really unbelievable part. The 2nd mover calls the driver outside and they talk. Then the driver tells me that the other mover doesn't "feel comfortable moving my stuff due to the fact that I have a lot of cat hair in my place. Yes I have 3 cats, which I told the service about when I booked the move, and yes, there's a lot of hair on the carpeting. I have been preparing for this move for some weeks, and I live alone, and have a bad back. I can only move a lot of stuff a little at a time before I have to stop and rest my back. I also work 2 jobs that fill up most of my time, including nights and weekends. That leaves me very little time and energy to clean. Since I'm selling my condo, and I know that the 15 year old carpeting will be removed immediately when sold. I didn't see a great need to try to keep it clean while prepping the move. I plan on having the place cleaned after I move out. Yes the hair was pretty bad, but I'm living in the place with it and I'm fine. How hard is it for movers to go thru the house and get the furniture and boxes out of it for a few hours? I didn't ask them to lie down on the carpets, just walk on it. But NO, he wouldn't move me, so I'm left sitting at my place with everything boxed up, packed up and waiting to go, and no way of moving it. I took off vacation days from work on the premise that I would be moving last night, and I would spend those days getting everything else out of the condo before leaving town for a work event. Instead, I'm now spending that time trying to find a new mover that has some common sense, empathy and understanding for the limitations of single woman living alone with physical limitations. What I really believe happened is that the movers had already done at least one move that day, and since it was already past 6:00 pm, he just didn't want to start another full moving job that day. He used the cat hair as an excuse to get out of doing the job. His supervisor wasn't any help either. He left me a voice mail saying that they had the right to refuse to work a job in conditions of animal hair present if they had allergies etc. He called my place, and by extension, me, disgusting, absurd and unsanitary. VERY INSULTING AND HURTFUL! If their crew has a problem with animal hair, they should have sent a team that didn't have a problem with it. I did give them a warning about the cats before I booked the job. Fair warning to anyone thinking of using this company, if you have pets, you don't plan on cleaning your place spotless in the middle of your move process, or you plan to schedule your move late in the day, DONT HIRE THEM! They'll disappoint you and leave you stranded! I'm sure that the service provider will reply to this report and say that I'm a crazy cat lady who lives in filth, but since he wasn't there, he can't really be considered a reliable source. Trust me, this company was a BIG disappointment!
