Weed Man Lawn Care

Do not use Hillenmeyer or Weedman. They will perform service without your consent and bill you for it. We contacted them about killing weeds in our backyard. They came out and said they could not perform the service that day as we needed a "killout" first, and to call in and schedule a killout appointment. We decided not to schedule the appointment. Since then, they allegedly came out and performed the regular service (that they told us they could not do) twice without our consent or knowledge and then attempted to bill us for it. After contacting them a few times to try to resolve this and getting no where with the person on the phone, we just hoped it would go away. We have now been sent to collections for a service that we did not order! Stay far away from Weedman or their parent company Hillenmeyer Garden Shops. 😡

Since our backyard is locked, Weedman was supposed to call first so we could have the gate unlocked. Several times they just did not show up after calling and telling us they would be there. Within the first two weeks, we had two applications. For each of these they left a bill for $37. Two weeks later we received a notice that we had not paid our bill. They told us that on the second visit they applied a combination fertilizer / grub control so for that 90 second visit we owed an additional $37 plus a late fee and $37 more for the third visit in 4 weeks. They called us repeatedly while we were on vacation even though we had told them several times we would not be in town to unlock the gate and wait a week. On the last application they billed us for Fertilizer and "spot treating for weeds". My wife watched the guy zoom across our small lawn in another 90 second run with a broadcast spreader and leave. It is obvious that the billing is for things they do not do. You do not spot treat weeds with a broadcast spreader. After over $200 of charges, even dandelions in our yard were healthy. We finally called them only to be treated abusively by a woman who would not let me complete a sentence about why we were dissatisfied with their service. My best advice is to find an honest lawn service or to just go to a local store and buy your own weed killer and fertilizer. A $7 bottle of weedkiller attached to the end of the garden hose did much more than did $200+ of service from Weedman. Weedman told me that I would get no refund for any of their services. They did offer (after a BBB complaint) to come back and retreat the lawn but I had no desire to have this very rude and abusive company back at my house even if they could actually show up on the day they said they would.

First service person average. Current service person(Derek) much better.
