They will add services like "Tree and Shrub" that I did not authorize. After trying to cancel my service, Rep. Brandon #189796 argued and hung up on me rather than canceling my account. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Rep. actually told me he would only be there another month so he didn't care. Update TruGreen called me to see if I would take down this review. They did not make any offers to make it right. I am no longer a customer.

I have been using Trugreen for about one year. After researching and speaking with other lawn services in my area, I chose Truegreen based on how affordable it is compared to others, and I needed a treatment against grubs wreaking havoc on my newly sodded lawn at the time. My lawn now looks great! The price of a professional treating my 5,500 sq/ft lawn outweighed buying the materials myself, and the amount of time it would take for me to apply the correct amount of the product was well worth it. The customer service is friendly when you call in as well. That said, trying to get information from Truegreen about lawn issues and setting up a specific service call is horrendous! There are so many miscommunications inside Trugreen that I get different answers every time I call in. It took me two months speaking with five different customer service reps and finally a manager to schedule the aeration package! It took multiple weeks for my lawn to be even treated for grubs when this was one of the reasons I needed a lawn service! I have security cameras which also caught the reps NOT treating the entirety of my lawn. When my yard showed fungal issues (either that or fertilizer burn), I called customer service to set up a lawn rep to inspect my property for fungal issues, and I requested a callback. The representative treated my property the first time for routine weed control, and the work ticket did not mention anything about fungus inspection. The next day another rep came out and said he had no idea that he was inspecting for fungal issues and was there to treat for weeds! I cannot make this up! I made a side comment about them being America's #1 lawn service, and he said, "I wouldn't call us that. I have no idea what I'm doing." If you are looking for a good laugh, Truegreen is your route. Just know what you are getting.

It's an excellent service and they do go door to door. You don't need to have to take my word to fine a neighbor whose got TrueGreen. If you see TrueGreen, it sells itself and you don't have to see around, nobody came to me. It's a matter of fact, I upgrade my service with them,

They always call a day before the treatment is scheduled. I have the same technician most of the time. He is considerate and has listened to my questions and answered them. There are different departments, so your lawn service tech. may not be the one who fertilizes your shrubs and trees. Very consistent.

Everything went as planned. Noticed a difference in yard after 1st treatment.

They do a good job. It is just they do not do anything over and above anything extraordinary. They just do the basic service.

I've had them for years. I haven't seen him. All I see is a little flag in our yard. Usually, we're gone when he comes. After we come back, we see that little flag sitting in the yard. I think the price is kind of high. They come out when I need them. They're here when they tell me they're coming. They come out automatically once a month.

I would not recommend them because we had more weeds in the three years we used them than anything else. I ended up having to dig half our yard up and re-sod it. It still had weeds. They would show up on rainy days and spray. I was, like, really guys? I used these guys for three years and they did it continuously. They are just all about numbers, hurry up and get it done. I guess their guys are on commission. I got more letters from them after I quit them than when I had them.

The staffs are amazing. They keep everything clean, close the gates, and do very good job. They are expensive though.

They are reliable and what they do seems to work. The price is reasonable.

I signed up online at Scott's and was assigned to this franchise/branch. About a week later, I got a cancellation message saying they were sorry to see me go. I said I hadn't cancelled, and they said they would contact the branch manager. Never heard anything and cancelled it for real when I got the next message. Annoyingly, I still get junk mail from Scott's.

They're always punctual. They always give me a call before they come. They show up when they say they will. They are always quick, they don't intrude, and they do a good job.

I am not very much satisfied with their service. In no time they would move out and If you have any questions you cannot talk to them. I don't believe that they treated the lawn how they were supposed to. I haven't met them. But they were courteous and respectful over the phone. I just didn't like their quality of work.

My experience with them was fine. There was no problem. They were fine to work with. Responsiveness was very good.

They do come and do the work which is mediocre. They don’t seem to keep the insects under control very well. They freely admit that they have had some issues with their technicians, not maybe doing a thorough job as they should. If there is a weed problem I have to call and ask them to come back again. They cut the front lawn in fairly good shape.

I am well satisfied with them and the last time that I used them was about a week ago. I like their service and I like their price.

The lawn looks as I expected the lawn to look at this stage. We did not use a lawn service in 2013, so they had much work to do. We had used two different competitors in the years before but became dissatisfied. We chose Scott's Lawn Care because of the quality products they use. We trust them to provide the service we pay for and so far so good.. Our fourth treatment is due soon. They even seeded some small bare spots at no extra charge. They grass seed grew as expected. We are at work when they perform there services so we have not observed them at work. We do get an analysis on our front door.

They come on schedule, make their application, complete their work, and leave a small sign on the yard to let folks know they have just put chemicals down. They call ahead in case the client has dogs so they can put them up. We only service our front and side yards as we do have dogs and do not service our back yard. They are professional and courteous. I have used Trugreen for years and never had an issue with any part of the business! They take great care of my lawn and it always looks good.

After a couple of days, I started to notice the weeds drying up. To early for the fertilizer results.

The experience was awful. I called the local office, but ended up in a call center somewhere in the Midwest. I requested that I be present to walk the property with the representative that came out prior to beginning their work. Shockingly, I came home one day and the work had already been "completed" on some form of a grub treatment that I did not request, a bill was on the door, but no walk-through on the property even though I was assured that would take place. I called back to the local number and ended up in the same call center. I explained the situation, and was told that they would perform the walk-through prior to the weed and feed. The morning I was told they were going to do the work, I stayed home to see what would happen. Sure enough, the TruGreen truck rolled up, the gentleman got out and began performing the service without knocking on the door. I waited until he was nearly complete, and as I opened the garage door to walk down the driveway to meet him, he jumped in his truck and drove away. He made eye contact with me, and still drove away. Completely unprofessional. Finally, when I didn't pay in a 'timely enough' manner for the service I didn't request (I told them I would still pay it, even though I didn't order it) they sent me to collections. Though I explained the situation to everyone at the company who would listen, no one seemed to want to do anything about it... other than trying to sell me future treatments. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for your lawn care work! I've since contracted with another company for a cheaper price, and have the dense green lawn I was after!

Did typical residential lot in 4 minutes. Fired TG once before, fired again. For me it's about my lawn. For them it's all about the money.

They did not follow my instruction. They came even they after I CANCELLED.

The service from Trugreen was terrible. The company seemed only to be interested in selling more services that were not included in the original $350 price. One worker told us that he had had complaints from several other customers. I went to the website and gave them a poor rating and said we would not be renewing a contract. We were never contacted by customer service from the corporate or the local office. We feel like we were royally ripped off.

It went horribly, as has been my experience for at least the past 6-8 months if I try to contact theml. For weeks the Lexington phone number listed on line was not answered at all; it just rang and rang. So I called the 800 number only to be told the phone had been accidentally disconnected but had just been fixed. NOT TRUE. I tried at least 5 more times over 5 days just to see, and it never was picked up. So I began calling the toll-free number. This week the person who answered the phone gave at least 2 different explanations regarding Japanese beetles until it was obvious she wasn't qualified to answer my questions in any way. That I can understand; that's why they supposedly have technicians. All she had to do was pass me on to a qualified technician without telling me things I KNOW were incorrect. I felt she was trying to get rid of me so she wouldn't have to fool with what would amount to an extra visit to our home. I asked the price for spraying for Japanese beetles (companies always give me the price immediately, as most of them charge about the same). She did not know. I asked if she could look it up. She said she could not. That's when she tried more to talk me out of spraying the living beetles clinging to the trees, as it would "do no good" now. I can't imagine why that has worked every other year but now it won't. When the call was answered, and at a time when I was not angry at all and only wanting information, she was abrupt and moving closer and closer to downright rude. I had another experience with this office a few months ago in which I clearly asked if they were actually answering my call from Enterprise Drive in Lexington and was told absolutely yes twice until I asked for the office manager, who told me that they were really in Louisville and no call is answered in Lexington even if one calls the Lexington number. After telling the manager I was lied to, she said she'd "speak with" the employee who did it. No apology, no feelings expressed on how I might feel being lied to by a company I employ. On 08/05/2013 the lady put me on hold and came back and said she'd have a tree and shrub specialist who services our area return my call. It is now SIXTY (60) hours later (according to my phone record), still no call, which is not something new. The former person who serviced our trees and shrubs was to call me back in the spring and I waited 2 weeks only to call back and be told he had been dismissed from the company. Nobody told me, the one waiting for the "specialist" to call me back about an important issue with our tree, that they apparently don't pass on the unanswered calls of people who've been dismissed. I too have animals, as another reviewer said. I also used to keep my gates padlocked until the couple of days they were supposed to show up, but it was pointless to try and figure out when they'd come until I saw the sign in the front yard. I sometimes get the recorded or non-recorded pre-visit phone call I have on my file as requesting pre-calls,, and very often do not. Our yard has looked horrible for the past year. I kept telling myself it might be due to the odd weather, kept making excuses for them, but if I call they have no answers. I feel I've given them the benefit of the doubt enough after my experience on 08/05/2013. In reading other reviews I see I'm not alone in weeds that don't respond at all to whatever they spray. I wonder why I can spray those same weeds that didn't respond to their product and kill them quickly. What are we paying them for? I'm going to search for another lawn service on Angie's List. I've been as patient as I can, but if they come again I feel it'll be money down the drain.

I am a new home owner and with my busy shcedule I didn't have time to do any lawn treatment. I contacted TruGreen since they were listed with a higher rating on Angies's List than any of the other lawn care specialists.As I said I signed up on May 1, 2013 and I was told someone would contact me the following week to set up an appointment. No one called. I ended up calling them the weekof May 6th and they finally gave me a date of May 21st for my first treatment. I asked them to have their representative call me so I could meet them and have them tell me what they were doing and all the details. I was told my the representative that would be fine and they would contact me when the tech. was about 45 minutes away from my home. They did come out but I NEVER got a call. When I tried to call them to ask questions you never got the local office, you are connected to some satellite office. That was the first and only treatment I received. I cancelled my service after 2 months. We did have some rain and I can understand them not coming out at those times but there was a scheduled day that was sunny and no rain and they still didn't show. My yard looks terrible and I hate that so much time went by when I could have done something on my own. I will say when I contacted TruGreen about canceling my service they asked if there was anything they could do and I said no. They told me I would receive a refund within so many weeks (I paid by credit card) and I did receive my refund prior to deadline they said. It just didn't work for me. I want to be able to talk one on one with a company or even better yet the service guy that did the work. They say if you have any problems in between visits you can contact them and they will come out but if they can't make their scheduled visits how would they be able to make any special trips. Will never use again.
