I have used Thorobilt for various home improvement projects. Steve and his contractors are very dependable and do quality work. Thorobilt is my go to company for all of my home improvement needs.

Walked around roof for a few minutes and then came down and told me the prior roof contractor did a poor job. Had a leak around chimney which was not repaired. Will not use this contractor in the future for any needed repairs, roof or otherwise.

The gentlemen were timely, polite, and extremely professional. The work was done quickly, and they didn't try to upsell me on any services not needed, but did give me good information on steps I could take to keep my home maintained. Would call them again in a flash.

They were incredible. Very fair price given the extent of the work that had to be done. Very responsive and clean and professional. Mr. Farris gave me an estimate and actually was able to do the work for a bit less. It was a huge job and I could not ask for a better contractor. I would highly recommend them to anybody and will always use them in the future. Awesome!

After we had some high winds, pieces of the aluminum fascia and siding under the soffits had blown off. Our gables are very high, two story and attic on one side and almost two story on the other end. My husband and I had over 15 contractors come out and look at the needed repairs. We had priced the materials ourselves between $150.00 and 200.00 but the estimates ranged between $300.00 with plus materials to $1,500.00. Three of the contractors gave us a date for the scheduled repairs but never showed up. We were even told by some that the job was just too small. None of them showed up on time for appointments. My husband used to have a construction company years ago and we knew that the repair was simple even though several companies tried to tell us it was difficult and complicated. My first impression of Thorobilt Construction was a good one. The owner, Steve Farris, called me right back and showed up on time to look at the damage and estimated the repair cost very fairly. This was a great improvement over our past experiences. We had a few days delay to start because it was raining and that was not a problem. Joe and Chris called the day before to make sure everything was a go. Both of them were not only very courteous and polite but very professional and knowledgeable. Their craftsmanship was great ! ! ! The weather was really cold but it did not deter them. The repairs were done in a day and the results are wonderful. Quality workmanship shows and we are very happy with the work performed. Steve came by the day after to make sure we were happy with the work. This was great as well. My husband and I can highly recommend Thorobilt Construction for any construction needs you may have. We will use this company in the future when the need arises. The price was very reasonable, the work done professionally and on time. Thank you for a job well done.

Steve Farris and his workers were top-notch in their expertise, attention to quality & detail, communication, and professionalism. It's such a pleasure to work with someone who will do only quality work! Steve was very understanding of my needs, and his work was beyond my expectations. His workers were very nice and did excellent work. I highly recommend Thorobilt!

They came out quickly. He offered some good advice and I would call them again. They fixed a minor repair on something else that they do not even normally do. He was very honest and I felt the $95.00 was well worth the service. He mentioned items for the future that I would do and he did not try to sell unneeded services.

Steve from Thorobilt was the most professional contractor I have ever worked with. Every step in the process was discussed clearly, and he was always available for questions. After I made first contact, he returned my call quickly and came to bid the job that day, even with truck trouble. He always kept us posted on the next step. The work was done quickly and well. He was dilligent and professional. Will definitely call him again.

It went very well. Steve's people showed up on time and finished the job very quickly (2 days). The new patio is HUGE and keeps water from seeping down the foundation and into the basement. I will be using Thorobilt for future projects.

Steve was the second estimate we got for repairing the roof. He asked if we had any extra shingles, which would reduce the cost of the repair significantly. Thankfully we did, and Steve had his roofer, Joe, come the next day to do the repair. Joe was quick and resourceful, using some of the existing shingles to augment what we had left over. Apparently he did a great job as we don't have any water leaking issues and it looks great.

The owner, Steve, is an angel. He spent a very long time on the phone with me discussing options for a service his company doesn't offer. I am trying to find reliable companies in the Frankfort area to replace or repair a metal roof on a mobile home where my mother lives. I went to voice mail when I called Thorobilt, and I left a message explaining what I was looking for. Steve could have just ignored the message thinking, "We don't do that kind of work," as most other companies I've left messages for have, but he called me back to let me know. If I still lived in Frankfort, I'd have no hesitation about contracting with this company, even if the price wasn't the lowest one. He seemed genuinely concerned about the situation and gave several suggestions about potential contacts while politely avoiding negative comments about some competitors I mentioned to him. He seems to be a good, honorable person that I would trust with a project. That's really what I look for in a contractor, not necessarily the lowest price.

The shutters were put up quickly and to my satisfaction. I only have a small issue. After cleaning a small touch-up brush and container using my hose, they forgot to turn off the water. I discovered this the next day and found the hose had been leaking the entire time.

The job went very well. Steve and his crews finished about 1300 feet of our 1700 ft basement. It was a really good experience over all for us. Prior to this, we had always taken on the around the home things ourselves so this was all new. The workmen were all very prompt and professional. The worksite was always left cleaned up and they were very careful bringing in and out all the working materials. We had our own plans for the space and Steve worked with us to make it turn out just as we wanted. We finished out a family room, Theater room, office, kitchenette/bar, full bath and ,workshop. Steve kept the job moving,he was always available to us and was either on the job site daily or in contact by phone. The space is wonderful and we would go with Steve and his crew for future projects.

Joe, the worker Steve Farris sent to do the repairs, was easy to work with, kept a pleasant attitude during the entire time he was at the house, and gave us hints about how to complete our job.

Thorobilt was very punctual and professional. The contractor was very knowledgable and courteous. He inspected the entire roof and found 2 more problems, one of which we had had a small leak that we didn't realize. He fixed both problems for no additional charge. Thorobilt guaranteed their work. We were very pleased with the whole experience. We had been quoted $7000.00 and $2700.00 for this job. The contractor from Thorobilt was so much more knowledgable and explained what he was going to do in complete detail.

Steve and the gentlemen who work with him were all very professional, courteous and helpful. They examined the areas thoroughly, explained the options for repair, and fixed everything in a timely manner. He even called back to make sure the leaking area was done well and holding after a series of rain showers. In addition, Steve was very knowledgeable, and was happy to answer questions about work I will be having done in the future. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

After purchasing the check-up service, I was called by the roofing company and advised that they don't service the Nicholasville area. They were courteous and professional on the telephone. I requested and received a refund from Angie's list.

Owner was very respectful and professional, prompt, and gave good advice. If I continue with further improvements in the near future, I will request a quote.

During a flooring project we discovered that a slow exterior leak probably dating from the construction of our house 20 years ago had rotted out a small patch of sub flooring and some exterior OSB sheathing. We asked Thorobilt to work with us to repair the exterior damage and took care of the interior portion ourselves. We did not know the extent of the damage ahead of time because it was under the siding, so it was difficult for a contractor to bid the project. Steve gave us a ballpark estimate of the expected cost but proposed to charge based on time and materials. This is scary as a homeowner because it feels a little like writing the contractor a blank check, but it was fair in this situation and Steve did a fine job of explaining how he guessed the project would run. The overall repair involved pulling siding off the house and chimney, replacing some rotted framing and OSB in both the chimney and house, finding and fixing leaks, and re-installing and partially replacing the siding. Joe and Kelvin did most of the work. They worked efficiently and were happy to show us what they were doing every step of the way. And, they even lent us some tools to help with the interior portion of the job (thanks, Joe!). The overall price came in close to Steve's initial guess, and as far as we can tell without the help of a good rain storm to test for leaks the job was done thoroughly and well.

Did a great job - well worth the $99.00. I would use them again

This company offered a special through Angie's List for gutter cleaning and roof inspection. I received a call promptly after signing up to schedule the work, and the individual who called was very pleasant. On the scheduled day, I just happened to look out the window and saw a man carrying a ladder to the front of the house. He was here for approximately 5 minutes and never came to the door or made any attempt to let me know he was here. I went outside just as he was going to his truck to leave and asked him about the results of the inspection. He said the gutters didn't need cleaning and that the roof was fine. I told him I had a leak around the chimney several years ago and asked if he had checked those areas. He assured me that it was fine. I felt that he should have spent more time to thoroughly inspect the roof. I also feel that he should have let me know he was there, and reported his findings to me after the inspection. The price I paid would have been reasonable if the job had been done correctly, but the work actually performed was not worth the price. I received a follow-up call from the company owner in late December. He apologized for my previous experience and said the employee performing the inspection would call me in January to schedule another inspection. The employee did call in early January and scheduled another inspection. He checked in with me before he started, and again after he was finished to let me know what he found. I was satisfied with the way the second inspection was done.

Examined our roof and made recommendations for improvements/repairs. The gentleman was very professional and helpful, answering all of our questions.
