 + -1 moreI found Tate's Creek Paving here on Angie's List, called, the young man arrived at the appointed time. I explained and showed him what I was thinking about having done. He listened, pointed out areas that would need special work to accommodate my plans. He then walked the long driveway with his measurement wheel and tape measure. Shortly there after I had my estimate (15 mins.) he had broken down all of my requests into various costs. Such as the new blacktop parking area was priced at X, the Drives widening from the existing drive was to be X and the repair and the resurfacing was to X for a combined total of $22,500 and change. I haven't had the work done because a friend suggested I get a Concrete estimate before I go with blacktop. Still working on that.... Concrete guys are backlogged due to the excessive rains this Summer. I still may have the Drive Blacktopped again. If I due I will use Tate's Creek Paving and follow up with another review.

Another great selling point was being a member of Angie's List and getting credit for the 5% coupon which Earl Stanley (owner) graciously honored. It was very much appreciated!!
Description of Work: Excavated and removed "Old" asphalt. Replaced with stone base and new layer of asphalt. Also increased the overall size of "turn around area". So far have been very pleased with the quality of work received!

 + -1 moreCompletely Satisfied! Great folks to work with. Not the cheapest around but they sure do fine work. We chose them because they were on Angie's list (others aren't) and because they gave us references (that we went to look at).
Description of Work: Our asphalt drive way was in bad shape after 30 years and needed cracks and fractures to be repaired. Earl came out and suggested that they dig up all the bad spots and put a new "cap" on the driveway (instead of either just "patching" or digging everything up and starting over. They had a crew here the following week and they dug up the bad sections (with picks, shoves and Bobcat) and hauled away the debris. After they some repairs and prepared the base, they paved the entire driveway (seamlessly, I might add) with a good 2 inches or more of new (HOT) asphalt. They were very detail-oriented and took great pains to avoid my wife's many flower. Once they started at 9AM they worked non-stop. I had some bad sections of sidewalk out front (and so did my neighbor). When I asked, Early said they also do concrete. The dy after the paving was done, they came out, tore up 7-8 sections of old/cracked sidewalk and replaced them with all new concrete. The attention to detail was great and the finishing was much better than expected. DO get more than one estimate (so you can compare) DON'T be misled by cheap prices.

 + -1 moreI got two estimates for sealing my driveway - and I got Tates Creek Paving's estimate second. The first company had someone that came out, rang the doorbell and walked through everything that I needed, described the materials that they'd use, agreed to take care of a couple of other little things, and assured me that they'd squeegee on the materials so they would fill in the many cracks in my old driveway. My experience with the guy from TCP was very different - he walked down the driveway and looked at it before going to the door, and then he basically handed me the estimate. It was slightly lower than the other one, but he didn't seem to care what I thought about it. i asked about the materials they'd use, and he said they'd just spray it on. He left me with no confidence that they'd do anything other than make it look pretty for a few days, until the cracks started showing again. I thanked him, then left him texting someone in my driveway as I walked away. It's possible that they'd do a good job, but I have no reason for confidence in them - I went with the other company.

 + -1 moreTates Creek was not the cheapest, but I liked the guy. When I told him he was higher, he did meet me in the middle. He was here when promised and did the job quickly. I did have a few issues later in the year (2 months later) of weeds popping through but his guys came out and repaired those parts. I am a little worried if they went deep enough to keep all weeds from doing this, but time will tell. If so, I will let Angie's List know. But as of now, all is ok.
Description of Work: They removed an existing driveway, formed, removed debris, and repaved a 10X30 foot driveway.

Description of Work: Old driveway was removed, hauled off, rock and 2 1/2" asphalt surface was installed, and rolled smoothly for a fine finish. Company workers were experienced, worked together very effectively, and smoothly got the jop done professionally. Each man had their own task to perform and there was no standing around from any of them. When it came time for all hands on deck to complete the project, they were there and working. Would recommend this company to anyone needing asphalt.

 + 0 moreI would use them in a heartbeat again! Earl was incredibly nice to work with: professional, responsive, and prompt. The same can be said of his team. They addressed drainage considerations thoroughly and were meticulous in their demolition of the area of existing asphalt that was removed. I couldn't be more pleased. When I had a follow up question, Earl was just as responsive as when his estimate was out before the contract was signed. Pricing was much more competitive and reasonable than a larger competitor here in the area. I couldn't imagine using anyone else.
Description of Work: We had a very old asphalt driveway repaved with asphalt. An additional section was removed to replace with landscaping.

 + 2 moreI spoke to people who had had work done and saw what they had done. One person referred Tates Creek Paving to me. They had 2 or 3 years of history with addresses and names that I could go look at. I chose them to do the job. They told me what they were going to do and they did it. One or two guys would have taken a week to do that job, and so they brought in probably 20 people and got it done in a couple of days. They are a big company and that is why they could do that. I would certainly recommend them.
Description of Work: I have about 2200 sq. ft of driveway and apron into a garage. I used Tates Creek Paving to do asphalt work for me. They put in a concrete wall and also did some landscaping.

 + -1 moreWhen the work was completed, I was generally satisfied but noted a few areas where the tar was sticking up. When Earl Stanley came out to review the job he noted the areas and said he would come out and make sure everything was good. I did not expect him to reseal the entire driveway, but that is what he did. I was impressed that Mr Stanley checks on the work of his crew routinely. Resealing the driveway was a nice surprise, especially since I had already paid him for the work. I am very satisfied with the job.
