[Member Name Removed], Your estimate was done on 12/16/2015 and your quote was mailed out on 12/18/2015. I was only given a mailing address, no email was ever gave for quote to be sent. I had not heard anything from you so assumed you were not interested in our proposal. I do apologize, not sure why you did not receive the quote via postal service.

Description of Work: The work was excellent. They were perfectionist. One day one of their workers had done some work and when the owner inspected it, it did not meet his standards so he removed the work they had done and the next day came and did it himself. Their work was perfect. They came when they said they would and finished when they said they would. They went above and beyond what was expected. I would highly recommend them. I can not say enough with how impressed I was with them and their work. Also, they cleaned up after themselves every day before they left.

Description of Work: They came out and surveyed the work to be done. They said they would get back to me in the next week with a sample paver and an estimate for the work to be done. They never showed up nor did they contact me. I had even stated that I found them on Angies list.

Response from Stone Age Masonry
We were in different transportation due to being on our way out of town. We not only work daily we also do our own estimates, therefore we are super busy, and unfortunately some things do fall thru the cracks. No excuses just a sincere apology to our members. I did contact the member 12 days later offering my deepest apologies. We're human too and do make mistakes...

Description of Work: Eddie and Tina came to do an estimate on grinding out the mortar on a brick patio and walkway and possibly work on the chimney cap. The owner, Eddie paid a lot of attention to detail and pointed out some other mortar areas on the front of the house that needed to be re-worked. Some joints, bricks, and pavers had to be completely replaced. They managed to find pavers and bricks that were close matches and overall everything is better in both function and appearance. There was one area well above the first story which I did not even realize we were re-doing. The Senior Mason was grinding out the mortar on the side of the house and I asked what was wrong there. Basically, we were lucky we had not had a leak because the breaks in the mortar were so bad. They also tuck-pointed the top of the chimney and installed a new cap.

I now have a new vendor for masonry. Eddie and Tina took very good care of us. I learned so much about brick and mortar during all of this. They were so personable and took very good care to ensure were were happy with their work. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for this type of service. They are worth it!

We are so glad we went with this company! Punctual, professional, and did an excellent job. They did everything they said they were going to for their estimated price, and did it within the same time frame. They cleaned up after themselves such that we didn't even know (minus a few pieces from the scaffold :)) they were there. Would definitely recommend and would call them back again if we ever needed them!
Description of Work: Our chimney was over 50 years old when we moved into the house. It had never been touched or repaired, and it was clear from the outside (cracks, holes in mortar, no chimney cover) that it needed a lot of work. We called around based on Angie's List reports and from some of our other friends' suggestions, and we ended up going with Stone Age Masonry. They were well below the other (top-rated) companies, although they were also highly rated.

Terrific result. Eddie had a little difficulty finding brick that closely matched mine, but was able to do so. He did use a sub he had not used previously, but he also did excellent work. I would recommend that if your job is in any way complex, you ask for a detailed bid. In my case, I understood that this wall would have some decorative columns from top to bottom. This trim detail was offset at the top and does look fine. This was a simple communication issue and I should have asked sooner. I suspect if I had considered this to be a major issue, he would have taken steps to take care of the misunderstanding at his cost, even after I had paid him. We both reglected moving some car stops to prevent hitting the wall and he came promptly to move them...well after he was paid in full. I would recommend him.

Perfection work.
Description of Work: I called Eddie Copley because he did the majority of the work on my 10x40 front porch laying Pennsylvania Blue Stone over lightning damage to the concrete floor of the porch. He did an excellent job. He was careful to not knick a delicate network of electric heating cables I laid that had to be stoned over. He also poured a sidewalk with the same stone laid upon it. His work was perfection. He has to do things right. He is old fashioned that way. He has to be satisfied with his work or he does it over before I ever see it. Anyway he did so well, that he started his own company, Stone Age Masonry. He and Tina operate the company. I had some badly leaking chimneys. So I called him to inspect them. These are 2-3 story chimneys. He came right out with ladders and inspected the chimneys and told me what he’d suggest. I took his advice and studied it. I had some flue caps fabricated by a coppersmith in Indiana and had Eddie rework the concrete chimney caps so the large copper flue caps would fit. He installed my flue caps perfectly. He read my instructions and followed my specifications to the letter. He then tuck pointed both chimneys, inspected some other things on the roof (for free) and made necessary repairs all inclusive. He then waterproofed the chimneys. He also repaired a broken porch and sidewalk and repaired broken brick joints at my office. He did all this in a timely fashion and did everything agreed to for the figure he quoted in the beginning. Eddie and Tina are your dream mason team. They are professionals, perfectionists, and honest. They are upstanding, clean living, no drugs type of folks. I’d trust my children to their care in a pinch. They have my highest recommendation.

These folks are reliable! They come when they say they will and do what they agree to do. Eddie is a great mason and helped us come up with a unique and interesting focal point for our small back yard. They work hard to make their customers happy, and responded promptly when we needed some additional work done after the soil in the planter settled.
Description of Work: We used Stone Age Masonry last year to repoint the bricks on our house (built in 1925). Eddie and Tina did an excellent job, so we invited them back to give us a quote on a knee wall and planter that we wanted in our back yard. Fortunately, Eddie and Tina had a lot more ideas than we did about what our options were, and we settled on an unusual combination of 4-ft masonry wall with a 4-ft cedar fence on top. They also built a long, dry stone river-rock wall planter along the base of the wall.

After our chimney leaked tremendously last winter when it rained, even after flashing was replaced, we were told by a repair guy that the bricks were so old that the brick chimney from the roof up needed replacing. We received one estimate that seemed a bit high, so we looked for another company and found Stone Age Masonry in the phone book. According to the ad in the phone book, the company provided free estimates. I called the phone number listed and Eddie answered. He said he could come by to look at the chimney and offer an estimate the next day. This he did, and because I was not home when he came, he called late that day to give his quote. He was very polite and said that most likely his quote was lower than any other we'd get and he hoped to hear from me. Although we did receive a slightly different quote and went with the company that provided it, I definitely appreciated Eddie's willingness to take a look at our chimney, and I was grateful that he was willing to do this in a location 35 miles from his home.
Description of Work: We received an estimate of how much a company would charge to rebuild our chimney from the roof up, including flashing.
