Installation of flooring not purchased through Rite Rug.
I had laminate flooring installed in my living room (16X20) and my kitchen (16X8) It took over 3 1/2 weeks for the project to be completed. The first timeline given was about a week. First the Armstrong laminate was backordered. Then delayed again. The humidity on the floor was too high in one room so the whole project was delayed two more weeks. Instead of trying to fix the problem with blowers or heaters they decided to just let it dry on it's own, only checking the progress once a week. Finally the kitchen floor was dry enough. They wanted to wait until the next week to start. I demanded the work be done. They had been paid in full. The flooring was put down in one day . No trim around the fireplace. 10 extra boxes of flooring, felt and strips of quarter trim piled in my office and spare bedroom. The entire house was covered in about an inch of sawdust. My thermostat was turned down to below 50 (even though I had been told to leave the HVAC OFF during and after the process). The fan was switched to ON. I was not told of this. The filter clogged and the HVAC was almost froze up when I found it. My work bench in the garage (a built in) was used as a saw horse . Chunks of it have been sawed away. The baseboard has chips and gouges out of it. The installers stuck numberous brads into my wall causing holes. I emailed the business immediately. They said they were sorry this happened. They said they would schedule a walk through. That was a week ago. I'm not sure I want them back in my house. I paid a lot. I got a quality flooring. The installation process was, I feel, unecessarily prolonged. The flooring looks great and all in all the (flooring) job was done well. The collateral damage done to my home and property makes me unable to recommed this company.

Response from Rite Rug
We understand your frustration. Sometimes a construction project must be delayed until conditions are right for a quality installation. For a great laminate installation it’s a must that there be no moisture present. Also, laminate is a messy installation so dust and minor nicks and scrapes on baseboards and walls should be expected. We were made aware about the damage to your workbench and our store manager will take care of the compensation for this damage.

I give this company a D-. The only reason I'm not giving them an F is because the floating hardwood floor that the contracted workers put down looks nice. But please hear me say, it was not worth what I went through to get it. I have used Rite Rug on two seperate occasions and both times have been extremely disappointing and frustrating. I recognize it's my own fault for hiring them a second time, and I own that. I was dupped by a "sale" on discontinued hardwood and hired them a second time. Between the two jobs, Rite Rug installed approximately 1,000 square feet of floating hardwood in my home. The first job was supposed to take 3 days. The second job was supposed to take two days. The total job it took for Rite Rug to complete the jobs was approximately SEVEN MONTHS. Yes, I said seven months. Everything you can imagine went wrong with Rite Rug. The quarter rounds did not match the wood, they reordered more and those didn't match either, they special ordered new quarter rounds and then misplaced them in their warehouse for weeks. Once, workers showed up at my house to install the new, corrected color quarter rounds, and then they asked ME where they were. I had never even seen them. The problems and delays went on and on and on. I was sympathetic at first, but as the weeks went by, at some point you have to say come on. Possibly even more worrisome than these problems and delays is management's indifference to the fact they they have not completed the job and the disruption and inconvenience it causes the customer. Management insisted that payment was required in-full the day the first day they arrive on the job, and once that payment cleared it felt like it was my job to pursue the completion of the job that I paid for. I initiated most calls and text messages, asking for time frames and updates. On more than one occassion the manager would promise a date or time, I would rearrange my schedule to take off of work only to have them cancel and rescedule last minute. I have never given another company a bad review on a public site such as this, but this was insane. I write this because if it saves EVEN ONE PERSON from going through this severe frustration, it was worth the time I took to write it. Go somewhere else, I wish I had.

We purchased and installed carpeting throughout our rental home in Sept., 2011. Jason was the salesperson who led us to the carpet we selected owing to its' durability, resistance to staining and its' use in many rental homes. We choose to upgrade the pad. Less than one year after the installation, our two middle aged tenants (no pets) moved out. We were dismayed to find that the carpet had stretched and was "tunnelled", the seams were placed across the room and the tape/adhesive at the seam was lifted. Additionally, the carpet fibers displayed "excessive and unusual wear" given the age of the carpet according to two separate professionals. As the carpet was still under warranty I asked Andrea to examine it. Rick was sent out to evaluate the carpet in the living area and agreed that the seam could have been placed elsewhere to minimize the impact of the high traffic area. I was never even asked as to how I wanted the flooring laid. As professionals I assumed (wrongly) that although more carpet might be necessitated, the seam would be placed in a less visible and least trafficked area of the room. Rite Rug has neglected to address any of these concerns even though the product is less than one year old and under warranty. I will not use this company again and will not recommend them to anyone! Beware!

Very well. Love the new carpet and Rite Rug was very professional both in their sales and installation.
Description of Work: We were looking for carpet for all of our bedrooms, hall and stairs. Greg was very professional and knowledgeable. We actually found a lower price on the carpet and he honored that price. The installers were prompt and did a great job. We love the carpet and would recommend anyone using Rite Rug for their carpet installation.
