The project went very well overall. After the estimate, the date was scheduled to complete the work. It was done in a couple of hours.

I called on Providence Electric again, in June of 2012, to install a circuit breaker system to replace our vintage 1960 fuse box. Again, Mr. Burke came to the house, checked out what was going to be needed , answered my questions and we set a date for the work to be done. Tom came and in the process of installing the circuit breaker, upgraded the wiring to our furnace, solved the mystery of a front yard post light that hadn't worked in years and installed a new light fixture on that post for us. Again, the cost for all this work was very reasonable. The things that stand out about Providence Electric are: 1. they are professional; 2. they are thorough in making sure everything is checked out; 3. they answer all your questions; and 4. they are not going to overcharge you for their service. In May of 2012, we had an electrical problem in our home. I did some research and decided to give Larry Burke, of Providence Electric, a call. He returned my call the same day, came to the house the next day, checked out our electrical system from top to bottom, analyzed where the problem was located and answered all the questions I had. The following day, Andrew and Tom, excellent electricians, repaired the faulty wiring that had caused our problem. The cost was very reasonable. I had some plugs in my kitchen that were pulling out of the wall after they were placed by tilers who installed a backsplash. The electrician fixed them so that they would not come out from the wall when I unplugged small appliances. He did a great job and recommended use of a larger wall plate to better cover some gaps left behind by the tilers.

They did a great job and were very careful about cleanup when making holes for new fans.

He provided an estimate and was on time. I just decided to delay the work for now.

They did a first rate job. They came when they promised, they did the job thoroughly, and they did it for their estimated cost. As part of this, we had an issue arise during a weekend and they came to take care of the problem within an hour. Plan on using them for additional work in the future

It is an older house that has been remodeled more than once. Job took a lot of extra time and extra work. Company did not charge more than the original estimate for the extra work.

Overall, the experience was exceptional. A full estimate was given and the work performed met the estimate with no additional costs or problems.

Larry came to the house to provide an estimate and offer expert suggestions. He let us know the day before work was to start. His crew--and he--arrived on time and went straight to work. Dwayne and Mark did an excellent job, in a timely fashion, stopping only to ask me pertinent questions regarding placement of fixtures, etc. They carefully moved household items I had forgotten to clear, and they cleaned up after themselves nicely. The entire job took a day and a half to accomplish and cost us around $1200--very fair for the amount of work we had done. I will definitely call Providence Electric for any future electrical work.

Very disappointed! Hired these guys to install under cabinets lights. the job overall was fine. the price was very high. I accepted the price from the eginning, so this is not the issue. the problem was that even after I made it clear to them that I want to reuse these lights somewhere else in the near future, they took the cable connecters that came with the lights!. I called the person who worked in my kitchen but didn?t return my call. Then I called the business owner and he said the worker throw them away!!! (I don?t think so) and that he?ll replace them for me. But that never happened. I called again few times and he never respond to my calls.

After another electrician who we had an appointment with didn't show up, we called Providence and they were able to send someone out that same afternoon. It turned out the problem was that a bulb had been broken off in the socket of the light fixture, which we couldn't see and didn't realize because a new bulb would still screw in. The repairman was able to pull out the remains of the old bulb with pliers. Our only complaint was that the price was a bit high for what he did and the amount of time required.

Prompt scheduling - very courteous, friendly - both office communication and on-site technician, on-time arrival, thorough and professional service, and could not tell he had been there (clean - left no "a tradesman has been here" trail or evidence)! I will be calling them again soon and will refer them whenever I have the chance.

They did all of the above so well that it looks as if the fan was part of the house when it was built. They were punctual, and completed the job within their estimated time frame. They were very respectful of my home putting everything back just the way it was. They also supplied their own vacuam cleaner and swept up the minor mess they made in the process of instalation. They made sure to hand me the instruction book on fan operation and went through a detailed explanation of how to use the various features. The owner gave me a follow up call and made sure I was satisfied with the job before he billed me. In general, they were a dream to work with and I would not hesitate to contact them again.

The ceiling fan in one of our bedrooms wasn't working properly. We purchased a new fan, but felt more comfortable having someone else install it than us doing it ourselves. I called another company first to ask how much it would cost to do the work. They said it would be between $130-$150, and they couldn't even come to take a look until next week. When I called Providence, Larry quoted me a flat $100 and said he could get someone out that same day. Just a few hours later, Tom, was at my house and before I knew it we had a new working fan. He even took the old one away for me so I didn't have to worry about it. He was very friendly and professional, and didn't get flustered when my 2 year old kept getting away from me and running through the room where he was working! He cleaned everything up and made sure I didn't have any questions or need anything else. I printed the $25 coupon from Angie's List and that brought my cost to only $75. I was super impressed when maybe an hour after Tom left, Larry phoned just to check on everything and to make sure the fan was working. We will definitely go to Providence first with any future electrical needs!

What do you want in a service call? I want prompt returned calls, calls when on their way, and of course, great service by someone who knows their trade well. And it would be really nice if your service person was friends and polite. Providence provided all of that and more. I put them in my phone as my "go to" electricians.

Andrew showed up at scheduled time of 9am and performed all work in a timely manner. The work took a total of four hours but this included 45 minutes to make a trip to town to pick up some new wire and a new porcelin socket. The bill came in right at the estimate, we were happy with the work performed, and would definitely use this company again.

He was on time and fixed the problem. My experience with him so far has been excellent.

The owner came out the same day I called, and I received an estimate the following day. The work was performed as scheduled, and they did an excellent job. All work was performed as requested, and they also moved an outlet that I didn't think to include in the original estimate. They were very neat and cleaned up the areas where work was performed.

Overall, everything went great. We agreed on prices and he stuck to them. If there was a delay, he always called to see if that was OK. Very responsive. The price was better than anyone else I found.

I can't say enough about these guys. They ran into some unexpected problems (I believe them because they showed me where the wires were frayed, etc.). They had to replace some parts and keep the electricity off while they did. They stayed until about 8 pm to make sure we didn't have to spend a night without electricity, then came back in the morning to finish the job. Then they ran into a problem with the city inspector who had told them something different over the phone and had to re-do something else. All in all it was a much bigger job than they thought, but they only charged us for the additional parts, not the many extra hours of labor they performed. The owner came by afterward to make sure everything was OK. We couldn't have asked for better service. And they were incredibly nice. I recommend them highly!
