ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! First of all, the original lady (Kristina) didn't want to let me move in because I shared with her that I was planning to do foster care for an INFANT and she didn't want children bothering downstairs tenants. I should have reported them then! She let me move in and I was without problem. Then, they did not clear snow during the winter storms and I got threatening notes on my door about my dog going to the bathroom. I took care of the problem but got another note while I was out of state! THEN, I was off work for 6 weeks due to a flare up of a medical disability. I received temporary emergency financial assistance for my rent and bills and the landlord went off on me demanding a doctor's note and did not want to accept my rent money because she said she despises people on Section 8 because she pays her taxes. First of all, that is very derogatory to say and it wasn't even Section 8. I had to get a note from the missions agency stating that it wasn't Section 8 for her to even take it, but when I did not furnish a doctors note (because it is not my landlords business) she threatened to evict me saying she was going to give me a 30 days notice. First of all, I lived alone and worked two jobs. My apartment stayed in good condition and I WAS NEVER late on my rent even when I received the assistance. I am a wonderful tenant! I don't even have guests over at my place I had 2-3 visitors the entire time I lived there. When she (Britney) told me she was giving me a 30 days notice, I just said I would move out peacefully and she said okay and to bring my notice to vacate. I brought my notice to vacate and she signed it and was nice at that time. She said during the move out inspection she could just give me my deposit back in person instead of having to mail it. I had a family member do my move out inspection because I was not available, and it was signed off as okay. It just said a little extra floor cleaning was needed. I have pictures of the whole unit. When I called about my deposit, Britney said I broke the lease! I brought up her threats to evict me and she acted like that never happened and handed the phone off to the receptionist. They said it was up to the owner but REFUSED to give me his information. Every business is required to furnish this type of information and they would not. I looked it up online to find that the owner is Mark Sears. The receptionist (Rea) called me back and was very disrespectful and suddenly wanted to make all these allegations about my deposit. She said the carpet needed replacing (first of all, theyre a CARPET CLEANING COMPANY. it costs them nothing to replace carpets and I was told this was a standard procedure they do for all their units even if someone moves out in a week. secondly they just cleaned my carpets last month for free they called me and offered to clean my carpets and I had the living room gated off and the 2nd bedroom closed and other than the master bedroom the rest of the place had tile so my carpets were in pristine condition. thirdly during my move out inspection there was no mention of needing to replace carpets. they were just fishing for a reason because I asked to talk to the owner!). Rea still refused to provide Mark's contact information. I have more than enough grounds to sue these people for the harassment, discrimination, poor business practice, and disrespect that I have undergone. And for what? I am a young professional who paid rent on time every month and doesn't smoke or have frequent house guests or parties or anything. I am an ideal tenant and this is how I was treated? Mark Sears, I hope you see this review and do something about your company. And I hope you know that I told Britney and Rea to tell you to contact me so if this is the first you are hearing about this you need to have some words with them!
