MOORE HARDWOOD FLOORS

I called and left messages several times over the course of several weeks and never got a call back.

I called and left messages twice within a month, and called another time but was unable to leave a message because the message box was full. Neither message left resulted in any contact. I saw all kinds of good reviews on here, so I was hoping to hire them. But with no returned phone calls, I had to go elsewhere.

We needed floors refinished in our new house before we moved. We talked to Bill a few times and he said he was busy but he assured us he could get the job done. I finally gave him the absolute deadline for the move and he promised he would call back. We never heard from him. But we waited and waited. Therefore our floors did not get done and we moved anyway. He led us along and we ran out of time. Every time I see these floors now I think about what a huge disappointment it was and what an enormous job it will be to move our stuff to do the floors. I wish he would have been honest in saying he could not do it. Then we would have gotten someone else.

This is the second project Mr. Bill Moore has done for Denise and me. We did not even consider alternate installers!!! The select white oak flooring procured from Hardwood Specialities, off of Old Frankfort Pike, was well beyond expectations -- highly figured and close grained. (I use H/S for cherry and veneered plywood materials for cabinets.) Mr. Moore listens carefully to requirement and is very informative assisting us is making our choices. Work was on-time. Installation crew was professional and carefully listened to my wife. Finish work was EXCELLENT and my wife is very pleased. Crew left a very clean home at the end of each shift. NO DUST!!! Not done, won't return calls.

Nathan and Charlie showed up on time and got to work immediately. We chose to do "sand-on-site". This creates a big mess but the crew kept everything clean and did their best to keep the unavoidable dust down. When faced with a difficult angle or tough cut ...the guys took extra time to make sure it was done correctly. I was impressed by the fact they would actually redo an area if they didn't like to outcome. They finished on time and on budget. In fact, they did a couple of extra's.

We really do like the finished product but had some bumps in the road getting there. Bill worked very hard with us to determine the exact color that we wanted, and he was great with that. The main issues we had was the workers made some fairly big mistakes from painting the quarter round the entirely wrong color in the den to breaking the stair banister in half when they attempted to put the spindles back in - they apparently tried to force the spindles to go in which caused the banister to break. It took about 2 months for them to finally come back and fix that, and we had to make several phone calls in order to get this done. Because of these problems, I rated them as a C for quality, responsiveness and punctuality. Am still waiting on them to come back and do some more work on the quarter rounds. I believe we would use them in the future but not entirely certain.

Great group to work with, Bill showed up everytime, on time when he said he would. His crew was very efficient, very clean, and did an AMAZING job of removing and leveling floors that had been under stain, paint, and carpet for years. The attention to detail was the most impressive part with the corners, thresholds, nooks and crannies.

Our kitchen has a badly uneven floor (inverted V). Bill Moore visited prior to my removal of the existing tile floor to discuss the options available. He provided vendors for reclaimed flooring that would come close to existing 75 year old flooring. He is prompt, polite and is a very nice guy. Submitted a detailed estimate of 3 options before he left. Bill revisited again after I removed the old floor to ascertain the options discussed were still practical. The crew arrived on time and did a great job. Were patient with my many requests, They did a great job dealing with a very messed up floor surface when installing reclaimed floor. Even though the job took a lot longer than expected, the price was not changed. I highly recommend them.

It went very well. Bill is very professional and easy to work with. Very pleasant personality. His workers did an extremely good job. The threshold presented a problem because of the inconsistencies with the age of the house. They put in a new one that looks beautiful as does the entire downstairs wood flooring. Feels like a new home with the same old home charm

Quality experience all around. This is a family-run business that you can trust to meet your expectations.

I guess it didn't go well at all

The staff were pleasant and quick to schedule an appointment. He was late, but called to let me know he was on the way. The quote experience was fine,but few questions were asked and the gentleman didn't seem to really care about understanding what we needed or wanted in particular or to help educate us about our flooring questions.

Bill Moore was great to work with. His crew was pleasant and on time. The floor looks brand new but it's a 50 year old house.

Returned our initial call within a couple of days, showed up on time, and sent an estimate quickly. He followed up during our decision phase without hounding us. He responded to a change in scope with an updated estimate. All around, very professional.

Great customer service and communications; quality of work is top notch through use of top of the line equipment (sanding with automatic dust removal). They actually repaired a previous attempt by another person who did not use proper equipment. Very professional, answered every question, made suggestions, did not overpirce and did not give us an invoice until we were SATISFIED. I would highly recommend this crew for all of your hardwood floor care and repair and whatever other services they provide! Hire with confidence!!!!

They were friendly and knowledgeable. The only concern (and the reason for the lower rating) was that when I went to pick up the flooring, I had to help load the boxes. There was only person available to load my truck, and he seemed to think it was okay for me to help load. He did not apologize or even thank me for helping. I thought that was unusual...

I called them tree times and they never called me back. I left phone numbers and they never tried to contact me. This was very annoying.

They typically do a good job from what others in my area have said; however its hard to do business with a company that does not put an emphasis on returning phone calls.

One of two companies that we researched on AL for refinishing our hardwood floors, although there wasn't much in terms of results in the Lexington area. Bill (owner) came personally for the estimate and gave us a good price quote so we decided to go with him. Refinishing the floors was a 3-day process and the company did a good job while they were present on the job site. The first day they arrived on time and sanded everything and applied the first coat of poly. The next day they were pretty late due to other jobs in the area. The last day they said they were going to be there at 10:30am and didn't show until close to 5pm. All in all, they did a good job, I'm pleased with the work and result. Some timing issues.

They were very reasonably priced. The owner was very professional and they had good customer service. They worked with my schedule and came when I needed them to come; that was very much appreciated.

have to stay longer, and they just rolled with it even though this caused the crew to have to work some very long hours. They were nice people and worked with professionalism. My experience was fantastic all around and I could not recommend them more highly!

They are very knowledgeable. The owner came out and gave a great estimate. He has a lot of personable involvement in the process. They have great workers and really good products. They are priced well too! They are extremely reliable.

The floors are just okay and I would be happy with them if I had completed the work knowing that I wasn't a professional. Sometimes we can have unreasonable expectations when we don't know what's involved in project but I have refinished floors before. Unfortunately, I have more complaints than compliments. The Good: The price was very good The Bad: Putty on my walls. Floors in closets were not puttied Person sanding the edges ground too deeply and the floor now slopes toward the wall Left one closet unscreened Left my toilet clogged with a combination of wooddust and feces--they turned off the water to the toilet Found cigarette butts in my yard and in an uncovered register in the house Had a good amount of polyurethane pushed in the air returns on the floor I'm not confident that three coats were applied Little attention to detail I called the owner, who I liked when he came out for the estimate, and told him I had concerns about the unscreened closet, the missing putty on all of the closet floors, the clogged toilet and some missing closet bars (other things were not worth mentioning because they couldn't be fixed). He did send his crew back out to screen the closet and putty the closets This was haphazardly done Oddly, he did not apologize for the toilet Other thoughts: The work van had politically polarizing bumperstickers on it. I generally find religous/political/nonbusiness related graphics and images on work vechicles tacky and unproffesional

He was reasonably priced. I am satisfied with all aspects of his services.
