My experience with Monthie Mechanical was outstanding from start to finish. This is a family business that prides itself on doing a job right and earning your business for the future. If you are detail-oriented as I am, you will love working with this company! Since we were replacing our entire system, it was a significant investment in our home and I wanted to understand everything so I could make good decisions. Erika took the time to address all of my questions. She is very knowledgeable and good at explaining things for the non-expert. Erika evaluated our existing system thoroughly, uncovering more than the home inspector had, and even explaining a few things that had others scratching their heads. She took photographs and walked me step by step through their recommendations, defining current codes and including load and airflow calculations. She determined that our current A/C was sized properly. In contrast, a different company took a quick look and then tried to persuade me that we needed to add a second A/C unit in the attic. Monthie will not try to push you into more system than you need. Their proposal included options at different price points based on how efficient the units are and they provided estimated operating cost savings for each. Incredibly, when Carrier discontinued the model of furnace I had just selected the previous day, they upgraded me to the higher efficiency model at NO EXTRA COST! Their proposal was very detailed in the description of the work to be completed. Erika followed-through after the installation to make sure every item was completed. A couple of minor details had been overlooked by the installers. They came out the very next morning to take care of it. They are consistently professional and courteous and will work with you until you are 100% satisfied. If Monthie Mechanical's estimate comes out a bit higher than another company, just know that you get what you pay for. I could have saved some money in the short-term by choosing inferior equipment and a contractor who either didn't notice, didn't have the training to know about, or didn't want to take the time to correct several of the problems. Because it was a bit of a mess in my crawlspace, this job took somewhat longer than Monthie estimated. The installers spent the additional time needed to do it right with no shortcuts and no additional cost to me. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Monthie Mechanical. As Erika told me, their goal is that you?ll become a customer for life. This long-term approach is evident throughout the process. Monthie Mechanical earned my business for this project and in the future.

The office phoned a short while before the appointment time to let me know the technician would arrive shortly. The technician was prompt. Before entering the house, he put on shoe covers. I did decide to sign a contract with Monthie based on the office staff and the technician's professionalism and service. All work was completed to my satisfaction (and above).

When we purchased our new home we realized our A/C unit needed some attention. After receiving documentation from the home inspector we knew that the heatpump was running on its last leg. I have to admit, Monthie Mechanical was not the only company that gave us an estimate, but when Erika Monthie came out to evaluate our system, we knew that this is the company for the job. But the price was not the only factor that guided our decision. Erika handled everything very professional. I felt that she knew exactly what she was talking about, and she could explain everything in a simple manner. When we had other companies out for an estimate, they only told us what our system needs and how much it would cost. Most of them could do the estimate in 15 minutes or less. They obviously did not check everything in detail. Erika took her time to explain not only what our system needs, but also why our system was in the condition that it was in, and what steps we can take to prevent it from happening again. Erika has found many things that other companies had missed, including things that I feel the home inspector should have noticed. Erika did not only tell me what she had found, but also showed it to me. Yet with all the things we needed to replace, I did not get the feeling she was only trying to sell us additional equipment. As with so many companies, you just get the feeling they are only trying to sell you as much as possible, because they work on commission. Monthie Mechanical was the opposite. They gave us a few options to choose from, and the system we decided on was not the cheapest version that they offered. We would have spent about the same amount if we would have chosen a different company, but they would have not included everything that Monthie Mechanical did. System works great, and is also very quiet. The follow up from Erika was again very professional and detailed. She did not miss a thing and nothing was left out. They also always showed up on time and always slipped on shoe covers when they had to enter the house. It is the attention to detail that wins customers. I was absolutely amazed by their service, and I wish all companies would tread their customers/clients the way Monthie Mechanical did. Unfortunately you do not find that very often anymore. Thank you Monthie Mechanical, you have gained a customer for life. We can only recommend your service.

The technician arrived on time as agreed and completed the inspection and service. I was pleased with their service overall, but their standard service fee was slightly higher than other contractors I have used in the past. Based on my experience and the recommendation of friends who have used their services, I would call them again.

They provide a great service at a reasonable price. They explained everything to me before they did the work and the owner actually came out to my house once it was done and looked everything over to make sure everything was working correctly and up to specs.

Because of the contract we have with them we can call in and we get priority. Which we really like. They are very punctual and knowledgable.. They are very friendly and someone on the staff will call within a day or two to get an evaluation of how the repair man was. The price is very acceptable.

Representative Joe Layne that came to see me was very professional. They seem superb, and I want to give them a high rating. I am looking forward to their service and product. When I first called the company, the owner answered the phone. He was very nice and professional. He was very punctual on getting a Representative out to my house for the estimate.

They were very responsive. They were on time. They were very professional. They have reasonable pricing. They were better overall than any of the companies I have used in town and I have tried a number of them.

Monthie first came to the house to give me an estimate to repair the larger of my two A/C units, which had been leaking freon over the course of a year. They provided me an estimate to repair the Tempstar unit with original equipment parts. They also provided an estimate to replace the unit as well. I also asked them to calculate the size of the furnace room compared to the BTU of the furnace to see if the room was large enough to provide proper air flow for the furnace. This request was unrelated to their visit but I had been told by another HVAC company that I needed to add vents in the wall to improve air circulation in the furnace room. So this was a second opinion. They emailed the two estimates and the estimate to repair would have been the cheaper route to go but a new unit would have been more efficient and would have been a switch to PURON which replaces FREON. I asked them to give me a new estimate with a higher SEER rating so I could compare the cost of purchase and the savings on utilities, which they provided. This allowed me to make the best decision for my home. They also provided me an email response that confirmed that I needed to add vents to the furnace room to improve air circulation. Not only did they tell me to add vents but they told me how large the vents had to be to meet the minimum requirements. Everyone I dealt with either on the phone, during the estimate, installation, and the final walk through was totally professional. I will DO all of my future HVAC business with Monthie Mechanical.

Last year I had had problems with some backed up water output lines, which resulted in some leaking in my attic. I can't maneuver through the attic well and as a new owner of this old house, you really don't know what you have until you have been there a few years, and this is my 3rd year. So a proper inspection was required. Monthie sent Andy out, and he called ahead and came early which was great for me, 8:15am. He photo'd the whole A/C and drainpipe system in the attic, and showed me everything afterwards. He ID'd the models of the A/C and furnace with respective ages, confirmed that the drainage looked good, gave me tips on maintaining the outside portion of the setup, keeping it clean, and was very thorough. Compared to other guys I have used before, this was a tier higher in quality and professionalism, at an equal or lower price. I would use Monthie again.

They installed a new furnace and air conditioner in our home. The price for service is comparable to other companies in our area. This is the third furnace they have put in for us over the years. We are pleased with their work and will continue to use them.

Jeff arrived a little early which was fine with me. After just talking to him for 10 minutes or so about what the unit was doing. He said it sounded like they needed to get a technician out there instead. Jeff went up into the attic and within 10-15 minutes determined we didn't need to replace the unit and that it could be fixed. Appears the pvc drains for the overflow pan had gotten clogged up and so when the pan filled with water, there is a float that once gets to a certain level, it will shut the A/C off. The other issue Jeff discovered is that the fan in the attic is a 3 ton unit and the outside A/C unit is only a 2 ton. The 3 ton unit fan speed was set for a 3 ton a/c unit which means it was pushing the air through too fast. Jeff called his office to report that it was going to be a repair instead of an install. Jeff said once he got back to the office he would get a tech appointment scheduled and call me back. I received a call from Justin that same night and said that their Tech Greg would be out that night to fix the problem. I was so happy because our master bedroom and both my husband and my offices are upstairs and it was pushing 80 degrees. Greg called to let me know he was on his way and 30 minutes later he was there. He got right to work, made all the necessary repairs. I was extremely pleased with the service that I received and how quickly they were able to get someone out determine what was wrong and get it fixed.

They are really prompt. Their rates are good. The technician, who came out, went above and beyond for the rate they charge. I would use them in the future.

They did a very good job and they were quicker than I thought. Their price was good. I would use them again in the future.

We decided to install a new 96.5%, 60K BTU, Single-Stage Carrier furnace, and we set the date for the installation. The 2-man crew arrived on-time and ready to go to work. Shortly after they checked in with us, they had the old furnace out and the new one installed, tuned and ready to use (probably 3 to 3.5 hours). They were friendly, clean, professional, quick and thorough. Monthie Mechanical gave us plenty of time to make sure we were satisfied with the furnace before they invoiced us. About 2 months later, when the strangely hot and early Spring moved in, we found that our 18-year-old air conditioner failed to cool the house. So, who did we call? Monthie Mechanical, of course! After evaluating the AC unit, adding some more coolant and tuning the equipment, we were quickly up and running and once again very satisfied. With these two successful experiences, we'd highly recommend Monthie Mechanical.

I give them high ratings and would continue to use them in the future.

They were great. We got estimates from several companies, and theirs was very competitive. They also gave us the best options. They came on time, did the work in day - carted out the old furnace, put in the new one, and added an a/c unit -- which seemed incredible. They also helped us with the paperwork for a gift card from our local utility company and for the income tax break -- all we had to do was sign the papers -- and set up the appointment with the city inspector. Then Joe came back in a week to test the system and make sure it was running properly. Plus when our new puppy escaped he stayed for about a half an hour to help us find her. You can't ask for more than that! I felt like I was dealing with the kind of neighborhood operation I remember from my long-ago childhood. Highly recommended! All the workers and representatives were extremely nice and friendly.

Price wise they were not the cheapest but they were not the most expensive. We will use them in the future and we would recommend them to others.

I teach ventialtion at a local university and during the estimate phase they impressed me the most out of the five companies who I had bid in terms of knowledge and doing what I would do. Great install and every room in my house is within ! degree F of the thermostat.

She did a great job looking over everything and she sent me an email back. It was a very confusing. It was a little to expensive.

Monthie Mechanical was called to diagnose an issue we had with our heating system. We were made aware upfront of the cost of the trip charge and diagnosis. The service technician arrive per the scheduled time window and we were given a call ahead of arrival that the tech was on the way. The problem was diagnosed and explained to me in detail, and I was told that I would receive a call from the estimator after he submitted the diagnostic information. The estimator called with the estimate and the repair was scheduled. Again the technician (same person as before) arrived as scheduled with an advanced call that he was on the way. The repair was made and the work area returned to the state it was when he arrived. About a week later I received a refund check for an overcharge. I suspect the repair did not require the amount of time and I was refunded the labor difference. Wow... That has never happened before. I would have been none the wiser and glad my heat was working again. I think this speaks highly of the integrity of Monthie Mechanical.

Picked Monthie due to good reviews on Angie's. Had a good experience. Customer contact was courteous. The technician was professional and knowledgeable. Fixed our furnace quickly. Didn't try to up sell. The only complaint I have is that I initially contacted them via their e-mail service. I didn't get a reply in 3 days, so called them. Not a big deal, but if you offer e-mail contact, you should reply to customer requests.

The work was pretty well done. The technician was good. I would easily recommend them to others. I rate them high overall. It was a great experience all the way around. They are the people we call whenever we get in to trouble. I will definitely use them again.

We called a few companies out to give us an estimate on a brand new HVAC system. Monthie was right in the middle cost wise however, Erika, the consultant, was far more thorough than any other consultant. She went into the attic, basement and went so far as to identify mold growing on some insulation and said they would be more than happy to remove. The service men showed up on time and performed professionally. They had everything done in less than 6 hours. I did have one issue with the system the next day and the company came right out and fixed the issue with no charge. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and would use them again in a heartbeat.
