12-24-22 frozen water pipe burst flooded upstairs bathroom and garage below. I gave them a call and Bill came out looked at the damage, contacted my insurance company for me . It was a easy process for us and the crew was very nice and respectful of my house they put down floor protectors everywhere. We had a new bathroom with new tile and painted walls, they put new drywall in the garage and painted it. We are very pleased with the quality of work they did in a timely manner.
Description of Work: They removed the tile, concrete board and drywall in the bathroom. Had to remove all of the drywall and insulation in the garage. They did a fantastic job on the tile and painting !

This company caused more damage than they created. The owner is abrasive rude and unwilling to accept responsibility for his actions and failures to act, not to mention those of his employees. It was typical that a crew would show up at your house unannounced at 7 in the morning, only to have your phone ring by the owner and the owner try to blame you for his failure to communicate regarding the work schedule. Then they would disappear for weeks on end leaving you hanging with your house in shambles. We found numerous areas they worked on that if left how they left them would have caused more long term problems/damage if not detected and remedied, of course at our time and expense, They are difficult to get information from, including cost information. We repeatedly requested itemized cost estimates and they never would provide. We repeatedly requested an itemized bill and again they refused to provide one. We removed them which in hindsight was not only a relief but a wise decision. Be careful

HORRIBLE A hot water line in the wall behind my kitchen sink froze and burst Jan 7 2014. It flooded my houses destroying my laminate flooring and a couple of cabinets. My insurance company sent Jeff Marshall with Marshall Gen. Contractors to discuss repairs and process with me. The only positive thing I can say is they are punctual. I was told the job would take 2 weeks and 3 at most to complete. We were instructed to remove everything from my dining room and kitchen as the sink, dishwasher and part of the cabinets would need to be removed because the wall had to be cut out and water line repaired. On January 8, 2014 my night mare began. The guys arrived to tare out the damaged materials and it was like watching house crushers on TV. They ripped all the flooring up having no mercy on any thing around them. When they got to my cabinets the removed my counters then literally ripped my cabinets from the wall leaving big holes in wall and huge chips in my cabinets. I don't understand why they did not simply take the screws out. I ask if they was going to put those cabinets back once repairs was made and I was assured anything damaged would be replaced. (YEAH RIGHT) they brought two big fans in Thursday Jan 10 to dry the house out . they placed them in kitchen where the wall was cut out. There was strands of insulation dangling out of the wall from where they removed the wet stuff. They did not cover anything up, needless to say by morning everything was covered with dust and insulation. My refrigerator was unreal, it had so much junk on it the vents on the bottom was completely blocked off. Sunday morning Jan 12 2014 mr Jeff Marshall himself picked up the fans and said first thing Monday construction would began. The plumber arrived in an unmarked white truck when I opened the door he barged in and was very offended when I ask him who he was. He was some kind of a character I tell you. To make a long story short they would fix 1 thing and tear up 2. My walls, counters, cabinets, doors and washing machine was some of the things that got damaged. I had to continually fight with them and call my insurance adjuster several times. Not to mention my purse was ransacked by one of them thankfully I only had 20 some bucks in it,'which disappeared , guess one of them needed lunch money. These people put the Sheetrock and plaster back in the wall leaving the water pipes laying against the wall, which is block. So as soon as temps went down both water lines froze and the wall had to be cut out again. I had to buy and insulate the water lines myself..A 2 WEEK JOB ENDED UP BEING 2 MONTHS 2 WEEKS AND 2 DAYS IT WAS FINALY FINISHED MARCH 24 2014. Every shortcut these contractors can take, they will take and every thing they replace will be done with the cheapest products on the market. This is a slap and slop bunch that will never work for my again.
Description of Work: Repair busted water pipe and fix damage done by it.

Company was recommended by my insurance company after a broken tree limb had created a major hole. Charlie Foster provided estimate and was primary contact from start to finish. Overall, I found him to be professional, accommodating, willing to use e-mail, and competent at completing complicated insurance claim forms. However, he seems to have to large a workload as it was sometimes days before he would get back with me. I don't think he would have checked the finished roof job had I not pressed him about some issues. But it's really the roofing crew that pulls the grade down on this job. I'm not sure if the 2 roofers were subcontracted or just a couple of their regular crew, but the actual quality of work done on the roof was average at best and they cut corners whenever possible. Clearly they didn't take pride in their work and did only what it took to get by. They did leave the job site clean of construction debris, however it appears that they dumped a bunch of personal fast food wrappers behind the garage. And only after I challenged extra charges for additional materials used, did Charlie check the site and explained that they had not done what he had instructed although he thought the roof should be fine. And it is. After several extended periods of hard rain, my garage is dry. However, I feel like the overall charges were high for the type & quality of work done (I have replaced roofs on 2 other properties). Had I not questioned the extra materials charges, I would have paid even more unnecessarily. And if I had not just moved to town and been busy with a new job, I would have taken more time to compare prices among contractors. Lesson learned. Although, I won't use Marshall again, I'd have no problem working with Charlie if he were on his own or worked for a different company.

A leak over a roof line was the problem. It was leaking into our garage. Jeff Marshall came out to view the problem, and was there for about 5 or 10 minutes. A roofer put a dab of caulk in one corner of a J-channel on our siding. The problem wasn't fixed, as we had to remove ceiling drywall again, after we discovered the leak was still happening. Mr. Marshall refused to revisit my home to fix the leak that he "fixed" the first time. I would not recommend Marshall General Contractors.
Description of Work: Patch on a roof leak over the garage and near a window.
