+ 0 moreLighthouse Construction's staff was extremely efficient and professional! Christine was very friendly and helpful on the phone -- and she even got us scheduled the same day! Tom and his son were very courteous and polite when they arrived at our house. They took care of disassembling our treadmill very quickly and professionally. And they even showed us how they did it so we could re-assemble it ourselves and save some money -- which is awesome with all our moving expenses! I respect their integrity -- I don't think many companies today would basically take business away from themselves just to help out their customers. I highly recommend Lighthouse Construction and will use them again if/when the need arises!

+ -1 moreOutstanding workmanship. Gave written estimate and explained all items he would be doing and manner in which he would perform the work. Being disabled now but previously in the construction field myself, Tom's assessment and methods were spot on, even noticed a couple of necessary items I had missed myself. Work was performed quickly yet thoroughly. Would highly recommend Lighthouse Construction.
Description of Work: Handicap ramp repairs, gutter repairs and fascia board wrap.

+ -1 moreIt isn't my intention to bash Mr. Robinson. This is just an FYI to keep you from wasting your time. I am happy that he has enough business to keep him busy, but he should at least thank you for calling him. He simply didn't want to talk to me.
Description of Work: When I called to request an estimate, I was stopped mid-sentence and told that he "isn't taking any new customers".

Description of Work: Lighthouse construction took down 9 big trees in my yard, several of which were growing too close to my home's foundation. | |They also repaved my driveway and re-routed water drainage so it now goes away from my house. | |Tom (proprietor) is very professional, responsive, and trustworthy. + 2 moreHe was able to come for an estimate in a quick amount of time. We felt his price was reasonable, and he was going to be able to get us into his schedule within 2 weeks. Instead of replacing the one piece of siding, he wanted to take everything above it off to redo it, then replace the piece of siding. I'd say if you want it done right, he is your guy. He noticed several things that needed to be fixed properly. We ultimately chose someone that could get us on their schedule quicker, because we were in a time crunch.
Description of Work: He was to replace and paint trim on the front gable, replace a piece of siding on the house, and vent a bathroom fan to an eave.

+ -1 moreThe garage door was stuck (wouldn't close) and was misaligned. Tom came out on a Sunday and got it working for us again, and went as far as to ensure the alignment was fixed. We were expecting to pay quite a bit, but he only charged us $50.00 for his time. It was very much appreciated!

+ -1 moreThe threshold and door sweep on our back door had deteriorated to the extent that heavy rain was about to damage my newly refinished wood floors. I called Lighthouse Construction and requested an estimate. Tom promptly returned my call and stopped by. He told me he would return on a Tuesday at a certain time and he kept his word. He replaced the threshold and door sweep for the previously agreed upon price. I appreciate Tom's punctuality, professionalism and quality of work. No one wants to spend money on unplanned home repairs, but this experience was otherwise enjoyable and refreshing thanks to Tom.
Description of Work: Tom removed the threshold at my back door, checked for any mold or water damage and replace the old threshold with a new one. he also removed and replaced the old dry rotted door sweep.

Description of Work: We asked for an estimate on replacing some stairway steps with wood and a small landing. He came out said if it were him he would not do wooden steps, we had carpet and wanted to replace 4 steps and a landing. He was late, it took 3 visits and he quoted $750 plus supplies originally. We decided to have the 8 spindles and a short hand rail replaced, wood facing on the front of the landing. So the work was less detailed. the 1st day he got here, left after 30 minutes gone over an hour almost 2, came back and was here 4 hours and left with not much done. Came back the second day, was late made more progress and had 2 return the 3rd day to paint the trim around the area and the railing. Spindles and railing looked great, had him switch out interior light and 1 exterior and still cost after supplies reimbursed the same as the oirginal quote with the landing quoted for hard wood and we didn't do hardwood. I just felt the lights replacing the hardwood landing didn't equal the original quote. The railing looks great though. My husband and I both felt it was overpriced for the work he did. We supplied the spindles and light that were switched out.
