Description of Work: We were very pleased with Greg from Lexington Chimnew Sweep. He did a very thorough job of inspecting our fireplace and chimney and gave us some recommendations for maintenance and safety. We will be following up with him in the spring.

Description of Work: I hope he's around for a long time, because I don't ever want to use anyone but him after my experience! I had been using Indian Summer, and now know what I've been missing, for the same price. |Greg was terribly sick and called ahead to say he wouldn't be able to come on our scheduled day, but came out anyway free of charge to briefly look it over to see if it was safe to use, as I had suspected a chimney fire. |He rescheduled and came promptly. He literally took twice as long to clean my woodstove as Indian Summer had been doing, because despite annual cleanings, there was buildup that had taken years to accumulate. Indian Summer had always complained about cleaning my old wood stove, and Greg explained it was because it is more complicated, but with the right tools and effort, isn't a problem. |I have never had it so clean, and without any smoke at all in my family room. My dogs used to want to leave the room after a time and I had to open the stove door frequently to stir things up and add to it to keep the fire going, making smoke in the room. Not anymore. I didn't even know the bottom of the stove was in blocks, it's never been so clean, but now all the detail is apparent! |Greg cleans up after himself, too. |

Description of Work: Inspected my chimney and let me know it was in good condition and did not need to be cleaned! I will definitely use them again as I thought he was very reasonable and fair. Very knowledgeable.

Description of Work: Greg came to do a cleaning inspection and overall inspection on our chimney.

Description of Work: I called Lexington Chimney Sweep because the office was only a few blocks away from my home. I recently moved into a house I bought earlier this year and wanted an inspection for the fireplace and chimney. Greg Gortman, the owner, arrived in only an hour. He took a look at my fireplace and recommended no cleaning. He spent the next twenty to thirty minutes answering my questions in detail. He said that I had about 30 or 40 fires before I needed a cleaning. He gave me several tips about making my fire to preserve the heat for the room without smoke. When I asked how much I owed him, he said no charge. I wish I could find more service people like him. You can be assured that I will use him for all my fireplace and chimney needs. HIGHLy recommended!
