About us

We are a third generation family owned company. We are members of the BBB and are registered specialty contractors with the local city government. We specialize in installations that include traditional flashing details with ventilation that meets current standards. We do not use subcontractors for our installations. We have experience in and materials available to repair such roofs as slate, clay and concrete tile, wood shingle and shake materials. We are knowledgeable regarding built in gutter systems. We offer services for most flat roof membranes. We fabricate and install both traditional flat and standing seam roofs as well as prefabricated metal panel systems.

Services we offer

We offer roof repair, including flashing repairs, and replacement, gutter repair and replacement as well as roof maintenance.

Services we don't offer

We are happy to provide free estimates for replacement systems. We do not provide free estimates for repair work. We do charge a minimum service call fee to diagnose a problem. If, upon accepting our estimate, we complete the work for you the cost of the service call is taken into consideration against the contract amount.

The estimate is documented thoroughly with photos and detailed information. The work was always done promptly (sometimes even on a Saturday!!) and was of high quality. They even came back out to recheck an issue because they wanted to be sure it was resolved! Would (and will) use them again in a heartbeat!
Description of Work: We have had JD Harper work on several separate roof issues, and they have been wonderful every time.

The man that answered was rude, said they stayed away from the metal sheeting, when I asked about the metal sheeting in their ads, he said that was way out of mu budget, but he didn't even know what my budget was, wouldn't let me finish, never got to ask about my house, and wouldn't give me a free quote like advertised. He was nasty, and I don't recommend bothering them, since it seemed like I was such bother for calling.
Description of Work: I called to get a quote on fixing or replacing the metal sheeting roof on the barn, and to have my chimney at the house looked at.

I am very sorry that the list member had such a frustrating experience with our company. While it is our policy to provide free estimates for replacement systems we always try to make it clear to our customers that we do charge for repair estimates. Our policy has always been to offer our best effort for accurate diagnosis and to provide a thorough written, detailed repair estimate, often including pictures taken of the area in question. We do charge for this service however, if we ultimately end up doing the work we described as needed, the cost of the service call is taken into consideration against the contract amount. If the customer makes a choice to go elsewhere they are responsible for our labor billing of the on site assessment. I am so very sorry that is appears original request was not handled in a more professional manner as we have been in business almost 100 years...based largely upon favorable word of mouth recommendations. It looks like the "ball" was somehow dropped in this case.
