I was able to schedule an inspection within a few days of my initial call. They came out promptly and gave me several options along with written proposals. Once I had made my choice, the work was scheduled within days and completed in a single day. Jimmy was on site at the start and end of the job and left a supervisor during the day. He inspected all of the work himself and explained to me everything that had been done. The crew was very clean, quiet and courteous. I felt very comfortable with the entire process. Jimmy has a lot of experience and is very knowledgeable. Zero pressure. I highly recommend.

An awesome overall experience! J&R is a highly professional company in all its dealings from the ownership, administrative team and of course the work crews. They did a fabulous job and treated our property as if it were their property. The supervisor on site displayed great poise and patience in walking us through the various steps of the project and even in dealing with inquisitive kids asking a lot of questions. The concrete work and deck work were exceptional and we've received numerous compliments on the deck and inquiries as to what company did the work. We would definitely recommend J&R Construction to anyone looking to have a deck constructed or repaired and for any remodeling and we will use their outstanding services again in the future.

Jimmy was very professional and prompt. He had 3 young workers who were college students. They were all very good workers and able to handle difficult manual labor well. They were pleasant to be around even though it rained all day and they were covered with mud. Jimmy was accommodating with some minor changes to the plan. They cleaned up the work site at the end of he job. We were very pleased with how this project came out and would definitely use J&R again and would recommend them to anyone.

J&R came in and fixed our front door jab, which had begun to rot. The complexity of the job was a challenge, but the serviceman offered several solutions and demonstrated his knowledge well with a full understanding of how the door jams were built. We chose the option where he removed part of the door jab and he placed a new one into position. After the repair, the doorjam looked original. J&R was professional throughout, from the free estimate through to completion. They made sure we were satisfied with the results and completed the job within a couple of hours. I would highly recommend J&R in the future and will use them again if the need arises.

From start to finish J & R Construction was very professional. Jimmy McKinney came and looked at our house and we told him what we wanted done. He was very thorough and suggested some things that we did not think of. He told us he would get back with us within the next week. He met with us within the week and left us with an estimate. After a few days we contacted Jimmy and told him we wanted the work done. A couple of days later, he met with us and went over the contract. The work was started on 9/24/12. The contractors came in and hung plastic in the kitchen as half of the ceiling had to be removed. Everything was kept very clean and picked up. If you did not know that the ceiling was missing, you would not have never known anyone had even been here. The canned lights were hung and left for us to see if we liked how they were placed in the ceiling. We did want to make some adjustments and the electrician came back and made the adjustments with no problems. The ceiling had to remain open for a few more days to move the dryer vent from over the garage through an open bay in the ceiling out the back of the house. The ceiling was then replaced. Once again everything was very clean and plastic was hung. Our kitchen is one big room, half is a dining area so that is why only half of the ceiling had to be removed. Our ceiling is textured and when the new ceiling was textured, you cannot tell the where the new ceiling ends or the old begins. From there, the drywall repair work in the bathroom was done and the vents in the bathroom were installed. The siding above the garage looks great, you would not know that a dryer vent was even there. We are very pleased with all the work that was done and will have J & R Construction back in the future.

We contacted 3 companies to get quotes for a larger job. When all of the quotes came in higher than we wanted, we were so impressed with the detail and attention that Jimmy gave, we decided to ask him to help us find a project that fit our budget. He recommended redoing the bathroom. The timing from start to essentially finished was less than 4 weeks. We had a project manager assigned to us, who made sure everything ran smoothly and took personal responsibility for the quality and details. We also had an interior designer who helped with overall color, material selection and design. The J&R team worked together well. If we asked the designer a question about plumbing, he got the answer rather than tell us it was not his job. If we found a minor detail that we wanted fixed, it was done without question or complaint. The team kept the work space and our house clean. Overall, it was relatively painless and proceeded with ease. We are very happy with the results and would use J&R again in a heartbeat.

We were very impressed with the professionalism and courtesy that J & R provided us with their service. They conducted their evaluation and set down with us to make sure we understood all of the improvements that we needed to have done. They were on time with all of their appointments and thoroughly answered all of the questions that we had. We cannot speak highly enough about this company and the work they provided us, we would recommend them to anyone who is looking to have a more energy efficient home.

The contractor and his team showed up right on time, worked consistently, and finished the job in 4 days. A couple of the bench seats bowed due to the extreme heat and lack of rain, and the team came right back out and reconstructed the seats. When the project was finished the residual wood and site was completely cleaned up. I was very pleased with the process and professionalism of the company.

I'm not accustomed to hiring others to do work around my house, but I needed professional-looking results done quickly. J&R really came through. The hardwood flooring looks amazing. J&R was the only company who wanted to weave the new rooms into the existing hardwood hallway; all of the others wanted to install a transition strip separating the areas. The construction itself went flawlessly; the construction area was separated from the rest of the house with plastic which contained most of the dust (you can't contain all of it in a project like this). The fireplace surround with mantel project has completely transformed our basement. Starting with our discussions with J&R's design person, it turned out perfectly, just as we imagined. No, make that better than we imagined. The color of the stone and tile couldn't have been better; the area is not only aesthically pleasing but functional, with cabinets for wood storage and accessories during the winter.Certainly, a stellar result. The built-in desk/shelves are an amazing use of limited space. This is one of my 'things'; I hate wasted space. Both the fireplace surround and the office area showed the creativity and professionalism of J&R and satisfied my fear of wasted space. I now have a cabinet for my computer, a cabinet for storage, a large desk area, and five built-in shelves. The area is good-looking and very usable for a variety of computer projects for the entire family. The supervision and communication between all parties was always top-notch. Questions were always answered quickly via phone or email. To Jimmy, Seth, and George........3 jobs well done!

Before beginning the demolition of the kitchen, Jimmy and his crew partitioned off the rest of the house with plastic walls to prevent as much dust as possible. At the end of each day, they cleaned up as much of the dust & debris as possible. From start to finish the project took a few days less than one month. Jimmy was good about obtaining my input on where I wanted things, like the lighting (including the 12 can lights in the ceiling) & the new electrical outlets/switches, about answering all my questions, and addressing any of my concerns. He & his crew were always very professional and considerate. There were no delays in getting the job done because of overbooking jobs ... none of this working a few days and then not be back for a week because of another job. I trusted Jimmy and his crew. In fact, I only missed one day of work and that was the first day. We couldn't have asked for a better crew or better results. I love my kitchen and the openness of our kitchen/living room/dining room! I feel like I'm in a new house and wish we had done it a long time ago. It's been a year now since the project was completed and I am as pleased with the workmanship and result as ever. In fact, I hope to have Jimmy back to remodel our bathrooms soon.

I initially contacted this company because they are active in our local remodeler's association, and because I loved what I saw on their website. After meeting with them, I knew they were the remodelers for me. These guys treat you like family, and I knew I could trust them. Another huge bonus is that they are a design-build firm, which means you have a great designer guiding you in making all the right design decisions and selections. A big remodel is a a long haul, and of course there's a lot of upheaval if you're living in your home while it's going on like I did. These guys did their best to make my home livable throughout the process, and even made it fun. The best part is my house is so transformed that I can't believe it's the same house! My kitchen and bath are so gorgeous it doesn't seem possible. They took my house from the original 1950 bath and kitchen to something that functions and is stunningly beautiful. Thanks, J & R.

They were excellent. They were very professional and punctual. He kept in contact with us the entire time about the job. They were an excellent construction company.

All phases went very well except hearthstone installation. The piece of carpet cut out by the hearthstone installer was larger than necessary to accommodate the hearthstone. The contractor made the required corrections to make it right. We are very happy with the end result.
